You might have a hard time finding the Mini-Exotics resin conversion kit as it came out in the 1990’s intended to be used with the AMT 68 GT500 Shelby. Here’s a few pictures comparing my GT500 kit bash and the later AMT 67 GT350.

They must have decided Level 2 did not reflect the correct level. However, perhaps if there were phone etch parts it might earn a level 4. It’s probably more like level 3. On a side note the Gulf scheme just does not do anything fro me on a Cobra. A GT40 or Porsche is fine but it was never used on a Cobra to my knowledge.

It’s the replacement part form you download and mail in. All I noted was the kit number and wrote in decal sheet in the description and they sent me a “replacement.” I had the kit already but wanted an extra set of decals. They list the prices on the sheet.

I have mailed them the order sheet and a check two times and got “extra” decals for kits. The last time I did pay for two sets but they only sent one but it is still worth the price.
-
Since the price is $0.00 I think I will order several.?

Made a lot of progress on the kit today and just need to paint the rest of the fan assembly, glue on a few parts, detail the underside and add the decals.
-
Sure looks pretty and I presume a little easier build going with one color.

No kits. Gerry Chevalier has a 67/68 resin body. He’s on Facebook. Also MotorCity Resin Casters. There are several threads already showing pictures of members builds using at least three different resin versions. As Bill mentioned below there’s his on Ebay and it’s currently at $56.

I started this build around three decades ago and I think I finished it about ten years ago as by then there were parts I could use from the AMT 67 Mustang kit. I started with the AMT 68 GT500 with the Mini Exotics transkit that included a front end, hood, and some photo etch pieces. I am surprised AMT has not revised their 67 GT350 kit to make a GT500 but that would not be a difficult conversion for a modeler.

Should make a good looking duo. -
Off course with the Boss 351 engine being a Cleveland a 4V 351 CJ 4 speed version would not require many different engine parts. I doubt a 351 “H” code two barrel engine with single exhaust would be in the plans despite it being the predominant seller (with an automatic) in the 71-73 Mach1s. Even though I own said car (a 72 H code Mach1 with FMX auto and ram air) I’m not holding my breath on it being one of the future kit versions.

Kudos for “making” a sweet looking 69 Boss 429 which was never offered in kit form. At one point I was going to make a 69 Boss 302 using the Mach1 kit but Revell beat me to it when they revised the molds. You kitbash shows the superiority of the Revell/Monogram engine bay and chassis compared to the MPC/AMT kits. About 10 years ago I did make a Boss 429 out of the MPC 69 sportsroof kit plus of course adding a 429 hood scoop and engine etc.

It’s been over a year since an update. I dug the kit out of storage and decided it was time to finish it. 99% of the parts are painted so just need to assemble and do the rest of the decals.

Yes Harold Bradford makes the HRM kit. He does not have a website and most of his sales are through an agreement with MBW. He chose to go the wholesale route as apposed to his good friend Norman Veber of Replicas and Miniatures of Maryland who also makes fantastic resin parts and some kits but only sells direct to the consumer. Norm does not have a website either.

Absolutely. I’m not holding my breath on a 73 Japanese police car version but I already converted the Testors “kit” to one.
-
Yes those would be good choices for variations as they use the same hood. I had to add a lot of extra parts to the AMT kit to build this one. I have an Eleanor body painted but that’s about it.

Gary (Gramps46) is a walking encyclopedia on Lemans car and especially GT40s and Cobras. I look forward to following along with the GT40 build.
