  1. Would Magnifier be the knockoff of the Trumpeter? I just took a 32nd look at the box and I am not finding ANY branding or insignia on it (!!!) which I'll postulate is to get around paying tribute to Deer-Burn (as we natives called it) for the licensing. Really nice build, have seen a few around the web, and will be collecting / collating the knowlege, hopefully.
  2. Beautiful build - the level of detail can sometimes test one's patience. I think your assessment of the GTO being the most beautiful of the front engine cars would only be contested by the LWB 250 California; in the mid engine category the 288 GTO is the winning hand.
  3. Pawing through both of mine - have a very personal take on the old Ford v. Ferrari battle to be sure. Looking at certain bits, esp. the engines - and wondering if there are better solutions in the 3Dverse for key parts like the engine, etc. I doubt I will be digging hard into the giga-detail aspects of either one (hell, I'd be happy just to finish) but if there are select goodies that make sense and dont bankrupt the rest of the stash, I'd be all in. Thanks for any leads or help on this!
  4. And hasn't someone slammed a '60 on to the Foose chassis already? That would be ultra sweet... then add in all the grille changes...
  5. There are enough subtleties in this (vs. blowing up a Moby and investing the work) subject that it would seem to merit its own execution. Beyond my skill and patience to rough out, but not beyond the Visa as long as momma iddnt looking too hard at the bill. Thanks!!!
  6. Aha! That would be outstanding. Will light up that link tomorrow. Thanks - Cheers!
  7. Very cool, love to see the big scale stuff customized. What is the source for the wheels, 4-link, etc. - is that all scratch built, 3D, etc?
  8. FTW!!! Love it. I'd send you the bones of a Fujimi Testarossa to make into the lowball rat rod that is out in LA, but all is packed tight as anchovies in a tin.
  9. When I was about 10-11 or so, these TD kits were brand new and were they ever the shizznit! Wasn't nobody but the nerd's nerd doing stock. Didn't have to paint them, went together pretty well and your friends would be impressed when they were done. I think Tom was really on to something with the designs. This is a fun kit and a great build!
  10. This is one of those kits that is in the same pocket as the AMT '56 Victoria - just a sweetheart to build and to look at. You got this one just right. I'm hoping ** coughs ** that the 3D world will issue a Ford 223/262 so we can get some variety with this kit and many others. As delivered, the engine was milk toast, but smooth as butter. Could be hopped nicely - and even without mods would pop across the intersection ahead of the flathead.
  11. Indirect natural light is how these should be viewed. Question: Where did you get the interior and clear for the Lancer? Did those caps come with the car, or are they from the AMT Imperial. Absolutely stunning look, great work, that is EXACTLY what they should look like!!!
  12. Always thought a 1:1 with the modern Vortec head would be fun. At 160 net ho, they are at least as strong as the best of the sixes and not far from a 283.
  13. Agree - I need to get schooled up on the Effie cabs from that era, had no idea there were separate doors, or the "Wrong Bed" models. Guess those interwebs is good for something!
  14. And by extrapolation, if it is more or less fitting this kit... would not be rocket surgery to drop the '60 cab on the MPC Flipnose chassis. Would want to swap the mill to a 427 Ford from one of the recent Atlantis adventures, and improve the rolling stock. Still, possiblities abound.
  15. Madonn mia! That is stunning!
  16. I wouldn't wait for a kit if you have the parts to build it now. They might do a post sedan some time, but the whole idea of the series is to be able to move key features around from one subject to the next. I'd love to score one of the 3D-printed 151 4-cylinder engines to stab into the base post 2-door, the dead rock bottom stripper of the line.
  17. Found one in resin, but it is... not what I'd hoped. I'll spare the details, but knowing what is POSSIBLE in resin with great master makers, this fell short. With the explosion of 3D I'm hoping that someone has taken it on to make a nice, well defined C-series Sleeper Cab for a planned Ford Drag Team build. Heck, if there are ANY cool bits for a C-Cab Ford, let them rip. I'm a C-Cab fan from my earliest days - I remember them well from our Dearborn neighborhood (Wednesdays?) in that municipal yellow with "Keep Dearborn Clean" and "$250 Fine For Littering" lettered neatly on the doors.
  18. Ha, my '67 may get the leftover '66 421 from the 2+2 that I sold off. Life imitates scale!
  19. That was Frankie Avalon in "Fireball 500" in the Turbine Car. The race seemed to replicate the climactic course through the Las Vegas desert used in "Viva Las Vegas," a film improved 101% by the addition of a stunning Ann-Margaret, on everyone's laminated list emeritus.
  20. Clean as new money! This is a great build, love everything about it.
  21. Outstanding! I want to build one in white with Elvis getting in the back...
  22. Moby runs in a pretty linear fashion - they get one done and then move on to the next. I think I speak for the other kids in the corner of the lunchroom talking about models when I say they are invariably worth the wait!
  23. 351C was available to the bitter end, the only thing that changed was the engine dress. Ironically, the 4V was not available with Ram Air due to a cockup in emission certification, but the 2V was. Alas, a Cleveland with no cam or compression was more like a Zanesville.
  24. Outstanding work on the tripower and engine compartment. Got a 1:1 '67 sitting in the garage now, this looks great!
  25. Fantastic build, and great job! Saw a 1:1 going together at Total Performance (prob. 40 years ago) was well on the way then I think the body was stolen (?) dunno if any Ford guys remember. Car was black at the time.
