  1. Thanks Tom. I really like these bodies. I have a few more of them set aside for builds similar to this. I wasnt going to build fenders on this one, but the resin wheels stuck out so far it looked unrealistic. I also have an Autocar project with the same body. Thanks Michael, Dennis, Gino, Dan and Gator. I was still stripping the old paint off the bottom of the body today, so no paint yet. Hopefully tomorrow!
  2. Very cool project. The mismatched tires are a great detail. The Themo King unit is very nice.
  3. Thanks guys. If I can get as far as getting some paint laid on,then thats a good sign. Hopefully I can get the dump body sprayed tomorrow.
  4. Thanks a lot JT! I finally shot some color on it after getting all of the bodywork straight. The dump body is close to being ready for paint also.
  5. Thanks Dennis. Considering this is such a hodge podge, its going together nicely.
  6. This is quickly becoming a masterpiece. Outstanding work.
  7. I found some better fitting tires from the Cali Hauler reissues. To show the wheel details, I used the inner hubs from the snap Pete kits. This allows to see through the spokes. styrene rod through the brass tube The new tires
  8. Thanks Michael. On this type of setup none of the other axles would steer. Thanks Matthew! Thanks a lot Rick! Thanks Anton! Thanks Dan! Thanks Gator! Thanks a lot JT! Thanks Terry! Thanks Gino! Your right Brian! It would take a second mortgage to shoe this horse
  9. I posted the start of this truck in my in progress thread, but its far enough along to start its own thread. The truck is the AMT dual drive White Freightliner stretched out 1" and a third drive axle added. The cab was cut down and spoke wheels added. The fronts are from the Dodge L700 kit, and the rears are from the Diamond reo kit. The rear fenders are from the Italeri container trailer. Fuel tanks are from the snap KW kit. The trailer is the AMT Amocco issue. The tank halves were pretty distorted, but after some man handling it took shape. The rear suspension was replaced with the gravel trailer suspension, with a fourth axle added. The suspension was attatched to Plastruct 9/16 I beam with rectangle tube for crossmembers. The axles were made from square brass tube. The trailer wheels are also from the gravel trailer. There will be more detail on the wheels in the next post. I will have to replace the tires because the fit on these is awful, and they are too big.
  10. I think there are a few of these cabs on ebay right now.
  11. Here are a few of my recent scores. The General was on scratch & dent at tower hobbies. Its not a truck, but it will be weathered and put on a lowboy eventually.
  12. Thanks guys! I would want the most possible visibilty if I was driving this thing, so I Went for the most windows.
  13. Thanks Vic! My progress on the FL 3 for this weekend is the rear cab windows. I opted for the 3 window cab.
  14. Gator, the fenders are from the Italeri container trailer kit. The spread axle tandem configuration is the perfect spread for a tri axle. I believe the same fenders come in the Italeri canvas trailer also.
  15. I agree Brian, I dig your builds as well. Thanks man. Thanks Jacobus, the wheels are always turning! Thanks Dennis, neither can I. Ill be using some junked suspension from dump trailer kits. I have the Revell 6 axle tanker, but Im saving that for the future. Thanks Dan. Im too scatter brained to focus on one thing. Once I start these, they go into a plastic shoe box thats keeps them all organized and parts together. I tackle just a little bit on a few at a time. I find that if I work on just one, I try to rush it and end up wrecking it. This is just some of the stash.
  16. Small update on the tri drive FL. I added some fender panels to the cab, added rear fenders from the Italeri container trailer, and fuel tanks from a snap KW.
  17. This thing is looking killer Brian. This is a pleasure to watch.
  18. It just keeps on getting better! The body looks great Dan, as does the bumper.
  19. Thanks Dennis, I plan to to put a four axle tanker behind it. Thanks Gino. I went for a Malbros paint scheme on this one. Thanks Rick! Thanks Gator. I was very happy to get my hands on that cab. I have other B-81's, but this one is special. Thanks Tom! Thanks Jacobus. I have an Autocar kit stashed with the mixer unit from the Challenge KW.
  20. This really looks great Jarda. Fine work.
  21. Here is a tri drive Freightliner Coe that I started. I lengthened the frame by one inch and added a third set of spring to the Reyco suspension and added a third live axle. The front spokes are IMC Dodge. I have a Mack Cruisliner project going also. I need to photogragh it and post.
