  1. I searched and couldnt find any resin daycab, unless you know of one. It wont really be a big deal to turn the kit into a daycab. I really just wanted to make sure that things like shape of windsheild, shape of doors, cab width, etc were in the ballpark before I jump in. Thanks for the information, I really appreciate it.
  2. Well, since hes not going to say anything, my speculation is Clayton got upset and deleted everything when he got called out for ripping several people off in bad trades. Go check the "good trader" pinned thread. Shortly after these post, the BRBO disappeared. Could be a coincidence, but I dont think so.
  3. An excellent build of this kit with nice upgrades.
  4. Ive wondered the same thing. The have been many Peterbilt cabovers copied in resin just to have bigger or smaller sleepers. There are a lot of variations that can be done with this FL cab. Single, double headlights, round fenders, different cab steps, square doors, rounded doors, rear windows, etc.
  5. Thanks for your help. I saw a brand spanking new VHD mixer a few days ago, and its begging to be built. I figured Id grab the Italeri kit and start chopping away. I just wanted to make sure that the cab is close enough to modify.
  6. The builds can still continue, nobodys threads were deleted. Maybe the guys that had completed builds should just post them under glass. I forget what the deadline was, but the builders that are still involved should take this over.
  7. This thread has a pic of the roof rivets and maybe some other helpful info.
  8. There was a thread here before showing the roof of a 1:1. Basically there are way too many rivets and seams. I think it should only be one seam. Ill try to find the thread. Your better off sanding the whole cab smooth and re-adding rivets later. It too hard to get all of the panels aligned evenly with out sanding the whole cab anyhow. The panel lines are way too pronounced. They should be sanded smooth and scribed. The roof panel line was sticking out about .050 on a cab I was working on recently.
  9. Ok, that answers my question. Do you know if there are any differences between the VN and VHD cabs? I know the hoods are different.
  10. Very cool build. It looks exactly like the later box art. Fine job.
  11. Can any one give an approximate year model that this kit represents?
  12. I think someone took thier ball and went home.
  13. I dont know what happened. Ive traded with him many times before with no problem.Hopefully you get your end.
  14. Very cool build. The colors on the tractor look great. Its a very striking combo
  15. I had a similar situation with him, but finally got my end after I offered to pay his end of the shipping. I gave him the benefit of the doubt that he was having a rough time, but this is now the third person burned by him. He threw in a Peterbilt emblem to sweeten the deal, which destroyed the model that he sent me with no packing material in the box. Ill let you imagine how much damage a Pete emblem can do to a box of model parts after bouncing around the country in the mail.
  16. Nice work. And as Ben said, the chassis can be any color you want. Any of it can be.
  17. Ha! No, I was very limited by space. I considered cutting a cummins down to a 4cyl, but I just picked up another Cali hauler and I robbed the engine.
  18. Excellent start Sam. I cant wait to see where this goes.
  19. As usual, I started a new project without completing any others(the Mack is very close though). I was looking at some KW pics and remembered that I really wanted to try to build an S2. I started with a few snap kit hoods, and after a little cutting and sectioning it was looking like something. I used a cab from the super boss kit, shortened the chassis quite a bit, removed the cab floor and moved it forward, used a KW coe grill(thanks Sam!), and threw in a Detroit. Yes, you heard that correctly, Im using a detroit. I really dont feel like scratchbuilding a Cummins 555, so this will have to be ok. Im pleased with how the hood came out. Tell me what you think.
  20. Excellent work. This came out great.
  21. Brian, go to page 5 of Tims workbench gallery and hes got pics of backdating one.
  22. Ive seen pics of Tim backdating the unilite cab on his photo album. Hopefully he will chime in. I will try to find the pics.
  23. Not a lot to show, but still progress nonetheless. The chassis is ready for paint finally. Since last update, I installed the radiator, brake cans, drive shafts, steering box, and fabbed up a rear cab mount. Also the tailgate wasnt working for me, so I had to shorten it down. I reworked it and it looks a little better now.
