  1. Hi Steve, I'd like to say again what a sweet looking model! Compliments. Michael
  2. Hi Joe, I think it's good to not do a Dart this time around, so your choice is correct in my opinion. Good luck with the house deal. Michael
  3. Hi Matt, OK. I was thinking it was a smaller body. I had a buddy in High School who had this one; It was a 62 though. Thanks. Michael
  4. Matt, isn't that car a Fairlane? Cool, that will make a nasty little stocker for sure. Michael
  5. I always liked that guy's cars. I couldn't wait to get the newest SSDI magazine back then to see details about the way they were built. Cool project. Michael
  6. Hi Matt, it's good to see that you're bashing this kit and making it more up to date. I think it's a good model to make a rowdy stocker with. Maybe trim off the "chrome" detailing around the roof and make a plain jane race car? Did Ford even have a plain model with this roof line? Good work. Michael
  7. Hi jb, yeah I hear you about the sealed beams. What irks me though on the newer-type luxury class, especially the silly SUV's, the Xenon lights are all too high and they blind the heck out of you, oncoming and behind you. Give me an old Citroen DS19 sled and I'd be very happy. Cool cars. They ride like a dream too.
  8. But I do admire the way you guys detail the wear and tear on these models! Really excellent looking work. michael
  9. Hi guys, here's kind of a cool rig too. Probably one of a kind! Courtesy, Iran Gas and Electric. Michael
  10. Luis, good that you're cleaning up everywhere, I like the idea that underneath gets a good coat of paint, body color? Cool. This cars can look real sweet, I'm nuts about them. Man, the plastic looks pretty stout on this model. Good info too about the motor possibilities. Just so happens I have 2 of those Revell Pontiac tripower motors. The kit has a bellhousing, just no trans. Nice headers too. Not a big problem though. Now I have an idea where one could go. Michael
  11. jb, driving along French back roads in the dark, and being able to have a little more light into the curve was a good thing. France has nowadays the best road system I've ever seen. Recently for instance, I drove through the entire north of France, over to Brittany on the Atlantic Coast. With the exception of a major city, Caen, there was not a single traffic light the whole way! Unbelievable. Nothing but roundabouts, instead of intersections with traffic lights that block traffic and make driving a congested nightmare. The traffic flows, all over the entire country. Even Paris was a breeze, that's a real big city too. The French have done well with their designs and planning. I don't like the food though. LOL Michael
  12. Very clean work Steve! Just excellent. Michael
  13. Guys, we have annually a City Rallye and Car Show here in my town. I mean old Bugatti's and Ferrari's and classy noble cars and lots of Rolls Royce candidates and the like. Lots of cash here in this old German town. This year the winner was an immaculate 1960 Corvette, Fuel Injection, black with red interior, silver side scallops(?), white wall small tires and a 4 spd. With the original top. Mileage is a whole 22, 500 miles! They're out there, even over here in Europe. Hard to believe what's hiding in garages here. Sometimes I run across a Gull Wing 300 Mercedes (several in town), or an old Rolls Royce from the 30's. Amazing, and I think they're just beautiful to see in real life. I love the Old Timers, especially the Luxury Class. just Awesome. Michael
  14. Yeah, cheap. I like! Ace, you know what the next question is though, right? How do I show..... Wanna bet?
  15. The cool thing was too, the headlight beam turned into the curves along with the wheels! The convertible is worth a fortune. These cars were ultra cool in my eyes, and they handled very well! The comfort was nonplus-ultra. Very unique and cool cars, my opinion.
  16. Doing a partial quote loses the context of the whole. I choose to get this out of the way and end it. Enough written. End of old times. Lets build new models. Michael
  17. Congrats on the front end work, you got it!
  18. I was once again thinking I'll write something here and see it's 2008! I'll do it now though that it's updated. I think the way a car looks underneath reflects where the car is driven. Most I've seen are just plain dirty, grimy and greasy. Florida had cars that were undercoated like crazy to fight salty, humid air. In Germany it's salty roads in the winter and "who cares anyway what it looks like". The roads are often wet over here and lots of them are covered fairly well anyway. I agree with Harry though, what's the point in modelling a weathered rig? On drag race cars, I like the models to be super clean underneath, the detailing done is more visible too. Brake and fuel lines and such. I still have from older days a nice HO Model Train collection, lots of German and Austrian Made steam and Diesel electric locomotives, very nice pieces! I weathered the spokes and drive wheels on lots of them with really thinned out and runny black gloss. They look very real. But that's on the outside. Underneath, no way. Michael
  19. Another typing error? Maybe you do have thumps instead of thumbs. You misspelled my profile name on your '62 Shivvy rag top too. See, that's a problem. I really think have you a problem that my profile name on your German forum was different than here. You have a problem that I was the only one who wouldn't accept that you knock every mans' model. I'm gone there, the place sucks. I don't need anti-American mob ruling to harass me, and I'll be darned if I put up with a constant barrage of attacks coming from guys like you and yours. Here a name is mandatory, not over there. What do you want dude? We made peace once over there, and the next step was that I had a knife in my back at every post I made, plus that brother of yours wanted to play ball too but got used to striking out. No hits baby, no runs. You balk too often, you're out. The best thing that I can suggest is to stop making stabs at me through you're game of "What's on your mind" between you and your brother with hideous name calling and poor English grammar. Leave me alone, and I'll let you pass safely. Clean your spikes, take a good chew and play ball like a normal-type guy. That's my deal. Take it or leave it. We're playing ball in my Home Park. Leave this unanswered and we have a deal. Respectfully, My name is Michael. My middle name is Robert.
  20. I hear that. Wait a minute, where's my magnifying glass? Good luck and happy building time. Michael
  21. These guys are good. Clayton, make sure you get your big coin all polished up for pics! Michael
  22. It's 10thumbs, not 10thumps. Do you have thumps on your hands, or thumbs? You can't send me a message, I have good reason to block you, don't need it. I know you have big time trouble with my name. Just get over it dude. Michael
  23. Hi Ludwig, the interior looks better than the real cars did! What paint did you use? Michael
  24. Good luck to you Joe. Good that you're not giving up. I'm one of H of K fans, and I can tell you just made a good choice. Say goodbye to paint problems, and hello to success! Michael
