Hi Steve. thank you for posting this build... it is truly a masterpiece. Your workmanship is second to none and is also a valuable asset to everyone that builds a model kit. I have been building models for almost 25 years and can recognize a masters work, and you Sir are one of them. Please keep them coming. It is very inspiring to all of us. Best regards, Steve

Would anyone be able to direct me to real photos of this carb. It is from the 1/25 Revell 1969 Dodge Charger kit# 85-254. I'm trying to do up the linkage and fuel lines. I looked but couldn't find a carb that is close to this design. Ignore the spring most likely its not right. Here is the carb in question:

Thank you Greg. I hope there will be a few out there who might like to try this technique. I usually use Tamiya buff followed by future, let it dry for 24 hour till the future is nice and hard, Then Ill mix some japan dryer to the artist oil and streak away!! The Japan dryer makes the oils dry within a few days or so. When its all dry re-coat with some future and either gloss over or flat over with Testors lacquer dull-coat or Testors Lacquer gloss coat. That it. wood grain finish. There are more on the internet on this subject, check em' out. Here is one out of countless videos and tutorials: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-T2S5CMjwwY Best regards, Steve -
Excellent interior work!! I really like the parts you installed by the wing windows, that is a very neat addition and makes it look more realistic. Beautiful craftsmanship Steve. Best regards, Steve

Interior painting and details. The center council was painted first with Vallejo 71.106 as the base then coated over with future, then just dragged some Winsor & Newton burnt sienna artist oil to simulate the wood grain. -

I got the wrong color anyway, its Chrysler engine red and I needed Chrysler engine orange. Ill have to rebuild another engine anyway because the stupid spark plug wires are to big. At least I got the firing order right. best regards, Steve. -

Thank you everyone for the helpful tips and positive reinforcement. Here are a few pics of the engine work so far. I think Ill have to break down and buy a wire set somewhere because the wires might be a bit to thick. I did get the firing order correct though I hope. Best regards, Steve -

Hi David, thank you for the insight. Most likely I will do the exhaust manifolds like in the first picture. Now all I have to do is make some wires and plug caps. I have small wire mainly the phone wire size but with a solid core... the braided ones cant be bent so easily as the solid core type. I also noticed I'm going to have to make a small spring for the carb throttle, I think that's what is might be, I'm not an engine guy so Ill have to figure it out. It looks easier than a jet engine though. I will just have to see how far I can go with it. Best regards, Steve -

You sir are an extremely talented fabricator. You are doing some incredible detailed modifications. You must have been a machinist or watch maker for Rolex. Outstanding, best regards, Steve -

Engine work started. I don't know much about detailing engines but Ill give it a try. I'm going to search the forums to see what I can find. Engine painted Chrysler engine red, transmission is Alclad2 steel over Testors model master gloss white. It will take a few days for this stuff to dry. I wish I still had my dehydrator I gave it away to make deer jerky, the dehydrator dries enamel quickly but it can ruin a car body easily if you let sit in there to long. Steve -

Thank you David, make sure you prime with Tamiya fine white primer first the scale finishes will not bite to the bare plastic. Then shoot your scale-finishes black base followed by Tamiya TS-13 decanted... thin it with Tamiya lacquer thinner and then spray light coats first ,wet sand 6000- 8000, polish.... clean off the polish then shoot your Alclad2 chrome.... finish sealing it in with Tamiya TS-13. That is how I did it, you process may differ, please test this process first before you apply it. Best regards, Steve -
God bless you Dann, and thank you for sharing your skills. Your the best!! Steve

Thank you Cliff, and thank you for the heads up on the front wheel stance, I will do just that. Right now I'm working on the engine. I cleaned up all the flash and smoothed out all the sprue connections, the hardest one so far was the small parting lines on the coil. Now all I have to do is find the Chrysler engine red. I have well over 3000 paints, it should only take about 20-30 minutes to find it and hopefully it isn't all rock hard. Best regards, and stay safe from the corona virus. Steve -
Outstanding modeling skills Dann. I like the build progress because I can get some ideas for how to modify a kit and make it look really cool. Keep posting the great work, watching and learning. Best regards, Steve

Thank you Ron. I do have some nice wheels I will try on this one, I just have to find the box they are in. I do like the idea of the dog dish hub caps, I think they would look cool. This is a learning experience for me. I do mostly aircraft and wanted to take a brake form it for a while. Any suggestions would be of great help. I will need help doing the engine for sure, and I'm worried about all four tires meeting the surface...hopefully I will get it right. Best regards, Steve -

Tires and rear end worked up. I toned down the tires with some flat clear and some thinned out flat white to give them a more realistic look.
