  1. i didn't know you liked Cobra models ...HA HA . Fantasy build ? the 96 car is a 289 Comp car. i'm sure i'm telling you something you already know. now the 98 from Cobra caravan would make a cool looking build.
  2. great job on 2 very clean builds. you don't see Tiger's done very much and this one looks great with the fatty tires and side exhaust.
  3. thanks Randy, i have little experience with all these metal parts and maybe i should learn to solder like you do. But i have been really impressed with how well JB Weld super weld glue works for glueing metal parts together . this stuff is super strong !
  4. my first try at a MFH kit. Hope i don't screw it up! the kit is mostly metal and makes assembly a little harder. i would prefer plastic. Pierre , look forward to seeing your #1 Cobra build. Bill
  5. my madness begins with this MFH kit #12 Bob Bondurant 289 Cobra. Insane detail. the tray of parts are for the first couple steps. Even the leaf springs need assembly.
  6. looking good Maxx . here is what the bumps look like with no other sheet metal around.
  7. thanks Pierre. i started 9 but really getting burnt out on working on the same parts over and over. also ran out of the nice wheels i wanted to use , So i will be happy if i get 6 finished. too many other projects that i have started and really want to finish.
  8. Maxx, i used a hobby saw to cut off top section and then i glued to apron. i used a flat file and a sanding block to make flush. a little body filler was used to get it flat on top . Hope this helps out. Bill
  9. this one is a little more further along then picture. it's now in primer (awaiting paint ) and has a wooden deck.
  10. ok ,this project is back. anyone who has built a Monogram r-model shelby knows the front apron is garbage. did a little modification. cut off top section on body and glued to apron. finished with a little body filler.
  11. this would be an interesting build Pierre , CSX2196 a 289 leaf spring comp cobra with a 427 stuffed into it. The first 427 prototype cobra known as the turd. Later it received an all aluminum 390 and was the flip top Cobra.
  12. turned out great Pierre! color looks spot on with decals applied and tire choice was a perfect upgrade for the kit.
  13. thanks Pierre, yes they are all AM 1/24 kits except the roadsters are transkits by HRM and available from Randy at modelbuilderswh.com the Zero Paint can be hard to get sometimes, but you can tint colors and end up with some good results. this cobra was just plain silver and tinted with some blue. a little more blue and it would be close to the color your going for. what you have now looks very close and striping is a lot of work. Looking forward to seeing your completed Grand Sport.
  14. nice work on the Grand Sport . i went with zero paint Nassau Blue and was lazy, just shot from bottle. you could tint with white or silver to get it closer.
  15. I read a facebook post about the NNL West show in Santa Clara is going to be cancelled this year due to covid . That Sucks !! The only show i get to all year. Bill
  16. nice clean builds, they look great !
  17. progress has been slow , still painting multiple parts. a little work on r-model dash with pad, radio and glove box door removed.
  18. thanks CL, yes it is Echlin Automotive (ignition product) didn't know Napa has been around that long. Must not be a common sponsor, i searched a lot of decal sheets with no luck.
  19. thanks Rex, i'm trying to identify this sponsor decal above the union76. i found the prestolite sponsor on this UMI decal sheet. UMI may be my best bet to find it but not many on e-bay.
  20. anyone know where to find a good vintage sponsor decal sheet like this ? thanks, Bill
