So the other day I was making a trip to my favorite hobby store. As I'm pulling up I see a for sale sign that's been mounted over the name of the store. I walk in and ask the owner if he was relocating and that's when he told me the bad news. At the end of July he will be closing his doors permanently. I asked why and he told me that he just can't compete with the big stores like AC Moore , Hobby Lobby and Michael's in a further discussion he said his kit sales have dropped significantly which is where his revenue comes from. All the accessories and after market stuff that he sells aren't enough to keep his business going. Unfortunately it seems like this is a common thing that's happening and its sad because the LHS's I feel are the best places to go for help, there wealth in knowledge, specialty items, and kits that that aren't sold in the big stores. I'm not innocent , I have shopped at stores mentioned above because of the 1/2 off coupons offered who wouldn't take the opportunity to save money it just sucks that the smaller hobby shops are becoming far and few in between cause the LHS's I think still have so much to offer no matter what your skill level.

So it's been a slow process and I haven't gotten much done. I am still in the mock up stage working a little at a time but hopefully I'll be able to start getting it into prime soon. I've been working in stages, body, engine, and interior. Still have a lot of work to do. I cut out the original dash and grafted in a stock car dash to give a modern look and put in a pair of racing seats from the revel pro street chevelle kit. I think it came out pretty good. Here are some pics let me know what you think any tips will be helpful. Thanks.

Tyrone you have a lot of talent. Your builds are some of my favorites. I haven't built an outlaw drag car yet but you have inspired me to get one going. When I get started would mind if I hit you up some time to ask some questions. Your builds are just awesome.

Here is another pic that I was able to download. Again I'm using my IPhone so the pics are not that great. I'm going to fabricate the rear suspension which will be a first for me but for right now I have it sitting on leaf springs. I modified the leaf springs so that I could the ride height I wanted. If I get time tonight I'll get started on the rear. Also thanks for your comments.

Hello all I've been working on this for while now. Originally I thought I had lost this kit, tools, and supply when I had my house fire but turned out that the people that came to itemize our belongings packed it away in a dresser drawer. So that was a pleasant surprise when my wife found all my stuff. Even though we are still rebuilding I am able to get a little of time each week to do some building. My work bench right now is our kitchen table in our rental property. Any way here is a pic of what I got so far. I have a bunch of other pics but for some reason the files are two big to download I'm not sure why. This was the only one I could get to download. I'm using my IPhone so sorry that the pic isn't that great. Just wanted to share something.
