  1. Really cool. Nicely done...I like it.
  2. That is really a nice job you did. Now that I'm seeing some of the pics of this kit I can't wait to get mine and get started. My dad's was red with black interior. It also had vinyl seats...man I remember when me, my brother and sisters would try to get in it on a hot summer day and his car had been sitting in direct sun all day...it felt like we were roasting. We were like a bunch of jumping beans moving all around trying not burn. Thanks for sharing your pics I really appreciate it,
  3. Great job!! Absolutely love it in hugger orange and awesome detail work
  4. Andre, Thanks for sharing your pics of your car its looking really nice and it gives me a good example of what mine would look like when I get it.
  5. Thanks guys for your comments and info its really helpful. .
  6. Nicely done
  7. I'm interested in getting this kit because it reminds me of my dad when he had one when I was a kid. I wanted to know if anyone has built this kit and what were there opinions about it. This build would be more for sentimental reason so I'm not to worried about detail. I just wanted to know if its a good kit and how is the fit and finish and if its worth buying. Any comments would be appreciated.
  8. Nice job.
  9. I was working on a kit and had it about 80 percent finished when one night while doing some assembly I was gluing a body panel but it seemed like the glue was taking forever to tack up and I was getting impatient holding it waiting for the glue to dry. I got the bright idea to try to speed it up using a heat gun...now that was a huge mistake. I kept it under the heat for too long and the glue holding other pieces of the model softened and came apart aside from from melting and distorting the plastic. So after that nothing would fit properly....I was so discusted I put the model off to the side until I was able to fix and get new parts for it. Now I have learned to just put the model down and come back to it later and DON'T USE HEAT GUNS TO SPEED UP CURING TIMES.
  10. I have a quick question. I just got back into the hobby and I remember back then resin bodies were popular as they still are today. So why is it that people like to build them versus a regular kit?
  11. I like it.....real creative. Did you scratch build the chassis?
  12. Very nice.
  13. I don't have a special technique that I use but I can tell you how I prep the body. First thing I do which you probably already know is soak the body in warm soapy water then wash and rinse. I then sand it with 800 grit sand paper so that the body has a smooth surface for the primer this will help to keep the peel to a minimum. After the primer has cured I then sand it with 1000 grit sand paper until I get the primer as smooth as possible. When I spray the color I spray 3 coats: light, medium, and a wet coat if there are any imperfections I let it dry for about 20 min then lightly sand it with 1500 grit. After about 20 minutes I spray the clear same as the color coats. Three coats as well. I let it dry for about a week and then sand, buff, and wax until I get the finish I want. I know this is kind of long winded answer but I hope it helps you achieve your goal, If you have any other questions let me know and I will try to help.
  14. Speechless....Awesome job.
  15. Nice job.
  16. All of them are beautiful builds, but my favorite is the Nova. I like that pro touring/street rod look. If you don't mind what wheels did use for that build.
  17. WOW....Really nice build. I love the color and the wheels make it look awesome. I love the stance gives it that aggressive fast look.
  18. Very nice. I like it a lot.
  19. Here is a pic of the engine compartment. I didn't go with factory chrysler engine red w/black valve covers since I was going for the Pro Touring/custom look. I wanted to add plug wires when I started this build but wasn't sure if I had the skills yet to try it. So I kept it stock and painted in some details. Once again thank you all for your compliments. I'm really glad you like it.
