  1. Finally found some decals that suit it.
  2. I have a 1/25th scale K S Pittman set from Slixx. It had decals for 3 different '40 Willys versions. I used one version, you are welcome to the rest. Let me know if you are interested.
  3. Good looking orange paint job. K S Pittman maybe?
  4. Wow, what a trip back in time. I have that very same ad saved in my pics in my computer. I have built most and still have some on the shelf. Thanks for the memories.
  5. Looking good. SWC team still had chrome trim on the Willys in '61 and '62
  6. Wow, that's way better than what's in the box.
  7. Really liking the changes you made to this. Will probably do similar to my attempt. Could we get a close-up pic of the restyled front end?
  8. Here's where I am on my '87 Elliot Coors TBird. Been on my shelf of doom for years. The Slixx decals are old so I probably need to spray the gold stripe as well as the red upper. Been dreading the masking job. Like your collection. I agree with the others on removing decals, clear tape works well.
  9. Awesome Bill-d. Have you got a group pic of the ones you've done? I have an '87 Coors #9 TBird that I am working on, need to paint the body.
  10. Thank you, Sir. Decals are by Best Hobby decals/ Jim heller/ Teresawulf. I used the 32nd scale set as the 1/24ths were too large for my 1/25th scale car. They are listed on Ebay: Don Schumacher's Wonder Wagon 1/32nd Scale Slot Car Waterslide Decals | eBay
  11. Here' another project that I finally finished. Started with an AMT Vega Kammback funny car body. Hood and upper fenders were lengthened 1/2 inch. Front wheelbase was lengthened 3/8's inch more. Fender fill in parts from Rocking Rodney Rat, thanks man. A whole lot of putty and sanding. Tires, engine, chassis, and interior tin (trimmed to fit) are from an MPC Soapy Sales Challenger FC kit. Wheels and front air dam are from the parts box. Decals are by Best Hobby Decals. Let me know what you think of it.
  12. Richard, have you tried reworking an AMT Amtronic? There's several on Ebay.
  13. Don't forget a rear exhaust dump pipe too. Good looking Chris Craft Runabout.
  14. My wife's hobby is sewing and so I take her there a lot. They now have a section of model kits. They must have a deal with Atlantis only, but they had a good selection of planes, boats, and some car kits. Wife says they have a 40% to 50% off coupon for 1 item on their website daily. Check it out
  15. Here's my attempt at a Wonder Wagon Vega panel funny Car. Started with the body from The AMT 1976 Vega panel funny car (going for a '74 model verses a '72). Got some Vega side panel parts (thanks to Rocking Rodney Rat) and stretched the body 1/2 inch. Then stretched the wheelbase another 3/8th inch. A whole lot of putty and sanding. Engine, tires, chassis and interior tin are from an MPC Soapy Sales Challenger kit. Decals are on the way.
  16. Got this buildup of a Tommy Ivo 4 engine showboat dragster. On trying to disassemble it I was only able to save two of the 4 engines, so I decided to go with his two engine dragster that came before the Showboat. Still rough in spots but I think Snake45 would have approved. Let me know what you think.
  17. Good start. I built one years ago. Here are some pics of the real one I used as a reference.
  18. Old Revell Chopped Deuce Tudor finally done, OOB.
  19. Well, here's a kit I've had in my stash for over 40 years. It's been on the workbench, started and put back up many times. It was listed as one of the most difficult kits in the forum and I must agree. It was frustrating, had very poor fit, most parts did not want to stay glued. I did an engine swap which made it more difficult. OOB mostly (I did add headlights and taillights from the parts box) and I must say I will not do another. I don't remember my Revell Orange Crate build as being this frustrating. I'm glad to be done with it.
  20. Well, thanks a lot. Because of you and Force, I drug out my Revell Chopped Deuce that I've had in my stash for over 40 years and give it another try. Man, this thing is frustrating. I did an engine swap with my leftovers from a Tweety Pie kit and it makes it even more difficult. I'm about "done" with chassis and interior but I can't get the steering column to stay glued when I try to put the interior on the chassis and the instructions are no help. I'm close to the end one way or another. There is a reason it's been out and put back several times over the past 40 years. Thanks again, guys.
  21. Yep, had a set of them on my '73 240Z.
  22. I use my tweezers from Hell! They have a deal with the carpet monster and can launch a small part so it can never be found. I keep believing it won't this time but it does.
  23. You have a lot of work ahead of you. AMT's attempt at NASCAR stockers in those days was poor. Here's a pic of their 1/25th curbside 1983 Earnhardt Thunderbird stock car one piece chassis. LOL. The 1.25th body is fair but the glass was a joke and the interior was toyish. I kept the 1/25th body, wheels and tires, the rest went in the trash.
  24. Don't have any, but have you tried Monogram's 1/24 Trantula or Bad Medicine dragsters ? They look thicker than the 1/25 Revell dragster ones'
