  1. You are a bit south of me but I started a Facebook page mostly to buy, sell or trade kits locally to avoid added shipping costs.(link at page bottom) There are a few members that live down in your part of the state and may know of people that buy collections. There are a couple in my area but like others have said they don't pay a lot for kits. We just had our NNL today and there were venders selling their kits. Also a few other show/swapmeets around. I tried getting a table a couple years ago and what I sold didn't pay the $50 for the table. Don't expect to recoup all your money but those are some of your choices
  2. Any aftermarket companies make the Max Wedge Cross Ram Air cleaners like these ? I had a set and they now have issues, and I need another set for my Ramcharger build.
  3. I got an order from them a couple of months ago
  4. Tried to pace an order online, would not go thru. Emailed and FB messaged with no response. Has anybody know if they are still operating ?
  5. I did not see that option in the instructions http://public.fotki.com/drasticplasticsmcc/mkiba-build-under-c/amt-instructions/automotive-cars--pi/ford/1951-1960/amt-1960-ford-sunliner/
  6. Just received my masking pen. Anybody have any experience in cutting a clean edge with a exato blade ?
  7. Great stuff , thanks for posting, any others coming in the future ?
  8. I actually inadvertently left the cap off a 2mm pen for several hours and it did not seem to effect it. I did (again inadvertently) pull the tip all the way out and noticed the other end had the same rounded shape.
  9. Restobirth Reassemblycation Unfubaring
  10. Sounds fair to me , I would pay that
  11. How many ml is in the Molotow 4mm pen ? Has anybody tried dipping parts in a jar of it?
  12. To me it looks more like just patterned not actually the lace effect from back in the day.
  13. One some cars the window trim was not as shiny as chrome, more of a aluminum finish. So Molotow chrome with a clear that dulled it a bit might just bring it to the right finish I just did the window trim on a practice body by taping it off with Tamya tape. I looks good, just waiting for sufficient drying time before I test it for durability. Added a coat of future over the chrome and it did dull it some.
  14. I read it works better than BMF. How much are you willing to pay not to have to deal with the BMF headaches ? I haven't tried it on window trim yet myself but soon
  15. I have a 1mm and a 2mm and I am a bit surprised at the the difference in size I can imagine the 4mm would work for doing the entire bodies. I did have an issue when doing the edge of a wheel where it was removed from the tree. The area I touched up was dull and bumpy. I made sure the area was smooth but that made no difference . I thought if I put just the rim in some purple pond that I could try again but it weeped up the side about halfway and removed the chrome. Ended up de-chroming the.entire wheel and applied the Molotow. Wheel looks great but has a lighter cast to it than the kit chrome but theouter edge still came out dull. I tried some over Future and it worked well. I will try some future on the wheel edge and see if that helps.
  16. Any body know of a tutorial on the new Molotow Chrome pens ? So far I have had mixed resuts.
  17. Not sure about the "Saran Wrap" effect. I believe it came out in the same era .
  18. To me this looks out of scale, too large. But true to scale the detailing may get lost in the reduction ?
  19. My top 3 jn order: Bullitt Vanishing Point Original Gone in Sixty Seconds
  20. When this happened I got so frustrated packed everything up and stopped building for many years. What I learned from it was to mock up everything before final paint and assembly. Thanks looking forward to future Hot Rod Hints
  21. Actually thanks for posting the question I have been building a lot of Mopar Muscle and continually try to improve my detailing and accuracy on their engines. This has made me stop and think about the PVC systems and how they are installed on various engines. Now I have to go back and check the finished cars for correctness
