  1. After you do that, you need to put the front split bumpers on it as well. That was actually a common mod for the 1:1. Great looking project. Keep us posted.
  2. Looks great! Is that a scan or a photo? It looks a little dark. I can tell the detail is there, just hard to see.
  3. I also like the color scheme. Nice job.
  4. I don't think you are the only one pleased. Nice magneto. Great look, with the finned valve covers and the old triangle air cleaners. Great work!
  5. Looks great so far. I love the color. I am going to have to get some cans of that stuff (after I find some!). Is it just me (probably), or does the windshield frame look like it is inside out? If it is, I hope its not too late to change it. Where are the wheels and tires from? Looks great so far. Keep it up.
  6. A good source that I think some one here told me about is the Summit on line catalog. They have pics of almost every gauge they sell.
  7. Great to see this one going again. Paint looks like it is going to be cool when it is done.
  8. Amazing work. How big are these?
  9. Wow! Another super clean job. I am all for a tut orial on doing carbon fiber. There is a lot there, and it all looks flawless!
  10. Thats really nice. Especially with colored pencils. Great job!
  11. You have made a lot of progress since I last checked this out. I like the new stripe. I was working on the coupe myself and found that the delivery hood fit great. This is coming along really nicely. Keep up the good work!
  12. You might want to keep an eye out on the bay as he sells stuff there. Glad to see the project continuing.
  13. That is coming together great! Great stance & color. I love the finish. Keep it up.
  14. I have done the pine wood for cub/boy scouts and mine were also inspired by Indy cars, but looked no where like yours. Last year my wife signed me up for the Awana grand Prix (I can't find any real difference except some of the rules). Since everyone knew I am a car guy and a model builder, the pressure was on. I have always had issues with the hieght of the bottom of the cars. While in the scouts, I had always added wood between the wheels, level with the bottom and not past the sides of the wheels. Last year, I took it to a new dimension with my side extensions. Not only did I go out, but I also took them down with in the width of the wheels so it did not rub anything. I am sure you can see my inspiration for this design. I did restrain myself and not paint it red. It is supposed to be a grey/green color changing paint, but will change about any color. I have seen blue, purple, gold and red. It pasted all the requirements (even with complaints) and was able to compete.
  15. Nice job! Yea, its a shame we don't still have the TA racing, but it is great to see the influences today. Same car that inspired my build. Great job on the chassis. Great stance. Glad to see it got finished.
  16. Thanks again for the photos. That was the biggest turn out we have had in a while. I know I voted for yours!
  17. I don't see any reason why you can't. Nice mods to the Chevy. There is guy on another forum (1:1 car site) who actually does replicas of peoples cars with these. And not just change the paint. He took a stock Baracuda (67?) and turned it into a pro stock racer complete with removable front clip! I say go ahead. Show us more!
  18. That is very cool! Great job.
  19. Thanks for the comments. I was first inspired by the old Parnelli Jones race car (since it seamed like everyone was doing the Sunoco Camaro conversion.), but while searching for info I saw Saleen's Parnelli edition. While I looked at it, the rear end had more cues from the 70 than from the earlier ones. Once i filled and reshaped the side windows, I think it looks a whole lot better. Thanks again,
  20. Great idea for a project. I have also seen those ads for Tamiya. Great job so far. The red really adds to the effect.
  21. That is turning out really nice. Its nice to do a simple build every once in a while. I like your choice of motor. Seams more period correct. I was just going to swap bodies to make a sedan, but not I might have to get this one. That will only make about number 30. Great job. Kepp posting updates.
  22. You just had to rub it in.
  23. Thanks. This is/was the R/M 06 Mustang with the R/M Super Stallion motor and Aioshama (sp?) I got from Hobby Lobby (they are dark brown on the box- and inside. I painted them silver). Every panel but the roof top has been modified in some way. The only part from the Monogram 70 Mustang is the hood scoop. I just noticed you can't see the driving lights in these photos. Here is a front pic where you can see them.
  24. This will be the last for a while. I have to go build something. The last photos I posted were in the workbench section, and a friend (Thanks Mike!) took a bunch of photos of some of my cars. I thought I would post these as they are better then the ones I took.
  25. I believe I finished this one a little while after I did the Bel Air. It was a fun kit to build. I built it after some 1:1 cars I saw at a Mopar show in Peebles OH.
