    62 Bel Air

Here is one from the mid 90's. This is a part of the photos a friend took. The color still looks a little off. It is Boyd Alumacoupe yellow.
  2. Here is an old one (from the 80's). I built this when it first came out (Ricky Smith). This was back when I used thread pulled through paint for spark plug lines. A friend of mine took a bunch of photos of a couple of my cars, so I thought I would post some.
  3. Great idea. Very nice job. I like how you did the air clearner cover. I can see the Chrysler 300C black and white with.........
  4. That turned out really nice. What did you use for the side trim? The intake looks great!
  5. Very cool! Nice detail!
  6. Great job! I also am interested in the stripe. Great paint.
  7. Here is something worth a try. I am not trying to sound smart, but try spraying clear gloss on it. I discovered this by accident while playing around with chrome parts. If you spray chrome parts with dull coat it makes them look like aluminum. If you spray gloss over that, it brings it back to chrome. (I grabbed the wrong can once )
  8. That turned out great! I have to read over the build process, but looks cool!
  9. I like where this one is going. Great job on the paint. That is a great color. (did I miss what paint it is?)
  10. Well, I'm back from a 2.5 week vacation. Talk about some catching up to do! Let me just say that, 1- the car is coming along great! and 2- those white faced gauges are cool!! How did he do them? They look like they are on clear acetate. Great effect!
  11. Wow, I haven't seen one of those in a long time. That turned out great. Great finish. I believe that is the first one I have ever seen finished. Great job!
  12. I bet you could still do it. Great pieces. I don't know why I never noticed your initials are "HP".
  13. I checked through my collection (which goes from 82 to 91, with a couple from 70 & 71), and discovered only 83, 88 and 90 had Christmas themed covers. Let me know if you need one one of them. Is 91 the last year Cartoons? I remember having a subscription and not being able to find the mags anywhere by then. Just curious.
  14. Great idea. I still have several myself. I think I have two from the 60's, the rest are from the 80's. I love those old mags. Thanks for helping to keep the focus were it needs to be.
  15. Marc- great job so far. Those headlights make a world of difference. Did I read that right? you drilled out the headlights after you painted the grill? Wow, you are braver than I Steve- MV lenses are the brand name you can find at your local hobby shop. Rail Roaders use them a lot, and they come in different sizes & colors.
  16. Thanks for the comments, & a big thanks to you Mr. Mike (I couln't remember what your name was here!) for the grill. I can already tell this is one of those builds I wish I took more time with, but things have been busy and it is done (almost). I can't wait to see Mr.Mike's as his had a little,,,, well should we say,,,,, accident. Watch for this one. I will say he has what appears to be the same wheels as David@minidreams, but black centers. I hope our club will have a good turn out. I might see if we can post some. I just realized I should have put this in the "under glass" section. Ooopps.
  17. Yea, I wish I took more time with it. I knew the grill was a big part, but I just ran out of time to make something. I almost just used painted screen until a friend gave me that one. These pictures are not the best, but the front spoiler looks like it is just hanging there. It does look better in person. Thanks,
  18. Hey, its been almost a year, but I did not forget. Everyone's is due next week at our club. This is about 98% done, and is kind of sloppy for me. I did a quick wheel swap from the original (seemed reminisant of the mini lights). I have repositioned the air intake tubes as they looked hideous. I didn't know how to change the title, but I wanted to show how this finished off. Thanks for looking!
  19. Very clean. I like that look, and mentioned before, please explain the embossing powder process you used. Thanks,
  20. That is looking cool! I still cant get over how easy those wheels fit under those old metal axel kits! I can't wait to see this one come together. Heres an idea for you, since you are updating/pro-touring (if that is not a bad word here), why not make the hood, rear wing and wheel centers CF? I am sure with your skills, you would not have a problem, and it would still look good with the black stripe. Here is a close up shot of the trunk on my GNX I was working on (It is on the trunk because I carried it over from the hood) that I did that to. Just a thought. Keep us posted.
  21. Funny you should bring this up. This just happens to be our club's same kit build. It is due next month. I had the same idea until I saw this...... http://www.saleen.com/saleen-parnellijones.htm So here is where I am at. (I think you can see where I'm going) The funny part is, now that I am nearing completion, I did a last minute wheel swap to those wheels. I painted mine silver to look like the old mini lights. I'll post pics when its done. I am running out of time, so I think I am going to skimp on the grill. Keep us posted on your progress.
  22. I see it now. I like the clear red lenses. Looking great from the rear!
  23. Looking good. I can't see the after shots though. Great project(s) you have going on.

Congratulations on a well deserved win. I was going to ask for more pics, but then I checked out your site, and wow! That is nice! I have seen your work before. I remember your pro stock s10. I found it at the time I was thinking about getting one. Great work. I would love to see some more!
  25. It looks like James has the same counter top I have. Mine is also a corner piece. Nice set up.
