Thanks Guys! I always like to build my convertibles with up tops if possible Ed. For one, I really like the look. And second, it helps hide the "less than stellar" detailing on the interior of these old annual kits! Steve

I use mostly enamel with a few acrylics on other parts as well. just not on bodies. Steve

The only ones I'm looking for any time in the future are old annuals; AMT 1960 Ford pickup AMT 1967 Ford Galaxie Johan 1965/66 Plymouth Fury MPC 1967 Pontiac Bonneville That's about it, other than the new Mobius kits when they start coming out. Other wise, I have more than enough to keep me busy for a couple of years. Steve

I stopped using enamels because of the cure time. It's more like 3 months before it's really cured! Steve

Just another mile stone in the slow slide of the American automotive industry into the dust bin of history. You could see this coming over the years as monickers such as Plymouth, Oldsmobile & Pontiac disappeared. Who would have ever thought that those names would just vanish after all of these years? & now Chrysler. Pretty sad. Steve

Great looking stuff David! I've just become very disillusioned with the Testors clears as of late & would really like to find a good alternative. I'm hoping this is it! Oh, & by the way, the great looking paint makes up for the graphics! Steve

I put it on pretty wet & this time of year I actually set my parts in front of the fireplace in my family room to sort of flash dry them. I also heated the paint before spraying. I thought that may help as well. So anyway, no fogging, just not real impressed with the initial shine. But, as I said, it should polish out well. Steve

That's actually a great idea Joe! I'm really bad about keeping my jars clean. I keep that same channel lock that you speak of on my work bench at all times & some times that doesn't even work! Thanks for the tip! Steve

I don't do resolutions either, but I do like to set an occasional goal for myself, especially when it comes to building. Because I know if I don't, I'll wind up like too many of my colleagues out there who get nothing finished. I would like to get at least as many finished this year as last. 10 is a good round number! Steve

Well, as far as I can tell, it went on ok. No fogging that I can tell. The only thing I don't like about it is the tendency to "dull" down. I used four coats about an hour apart. Looked great right after spraying, but 10 minutes later it lost all of it's shine. But it went on nice & smooth & I do like the fact that it goes on thin So as not to cover any detail. The Testors stuff, with those horrendous nozzles, goes on a lot heavier. This isn't as shiny to start with, but I think it should polish out just fine. Steve

Just got the new "Dremel Mini" for Christmas. Haven't tried it yet but the speeds are between 5,000 & 28,000 RPMs.

Gypsy Red & Shoreline Beige! Very nice! I did a '55 a couple of years ago in Shoreline Beige & Neptune Green. I love MCW paint!! I use pretty much nothing else. Other than the occasional black white or red from Duplicolor. Anything with metallic in it comes from MCW. Steve
