  1. Thanks guys!! I like the green putty just because it's easier to see what my repairs look like contrasted with the white plastic. I usually don't use a lot of it. mostly small imperfections & sink holes. Haven't had a lot of problems with shrinkage myself. I don't have another '64, but I do have a '63 hardtop to do in the future. Steve
  2. I have nothing but respect for anyone who can make one of these old revell kits look decent! Nice job Sam!! Steve
  3. Thank you Hector!! Steve
  4. Thank you Guy! I have really grown to love these old Mopars! So many people don't even know what cars like this are if or when they ever see one. Steve
  5. Looks like he just did separate castings of the hood & fender ornaments & the tail light bezels. Those tail lights are a bear to foil! Just be aware that working with resin is a little different than styrene, but as far as quality, I wouldn't be afraid to buy from Don & Carol. I've bought a few kits from him & for the most part, have been satisfied. Good luck with that interior Tim! It's a lot of fun!! steve
  6. Sorry Art! You beat me to the punch! steve
  7. Scale Finishes is another one making paints for the hobby. I really have no idea what type of paint Scale Finishes or House of Color are. I've never used them. I just assumed they were lacquers. I personally use MCW paints almost exclusively. I just like the availability of factory colors & the scale of the metallic in the paint. Where else are you going to find 1958 Chevrolet Cay Coral paint. Costs a little more, but I think it's definitely worth it. Steve
  8. Thanks Richard! I really like it too, & I'm not much for dark red. This is MCW 1964 Plymouth "Chestnut". Close as I could get to correct '64 Chrysler "Royal Ruby". Steve
  9. That's why I've gotten into a lot of these old vintage kits in the past couple of years Dennis. I'm really tired of '57 Chevies, '49 Mercs & the like. Something like this is a breath of fresh air to me! Steve
  10. Very cool Al! Those old Lincolns sure were some tanks!! Steve
  11. A lot of guys are using Duplicolor touch up paint in a spray can available at any auto parts store. As for air brush lacquers, most guys are using MCW or House of Color paints. Testors Model Master Lacquers are only available in spray cans. Steve
  12. Got the color coats on & the scripts foiled today! Still needs clear coats & polishing of course, but this will give you a good indication of the color. Already started on the interior as well. Steve
  13. I actually kind of like it with the open wheels. Gives you the "factory race car" feel. If your just gonna lose the caps spinning tires, why put them on? Nice job Jason!! Steve
  14. Cut up soda or beer cans can be used for all sorts of things. I use pieces for small brackets & things like wire looms & battery cable ends. It's just sheet aluminum so the sky's the limit. I used it for the brackets for the heater hose & carburetor return spring as well as radiator hose clamps on this '60 Buick engine. Steve
  15. Sorry, but that Ferrari has got to be the "UGLIEST" thing I've ever seen! Steve
  16. Thanks everybody!! I have to be honest, I'm a little surprised at all of the great feedback I've gotten on this build. I guess it's good enough for me but it's definitely not one of my best efforts. Maybe it's just the fact that a '59 Ford is not the "Holy Grail" of cars for me. Probably one of the last cars I would have picked off of the showroom floor back in '59. Steve
  17. The '60 Dodge phoenix that Modelhaus offers will be an exact replica of the original Johan kit. Don does nice stuff but you might want to keep your eyes peeled on ebay for an original built up. Some times you can find a pretty nice one in styrene for less than $100.00. Of course, then you may be looking at finding some missing parts or re-chroming some, but if you're anything like me, you'd rather work with styrene than resin. Just look around a little. You may get lucky! I spent around $100.00 on this one. Steve
  18. Thanks Dominik!! Steve
  19. Thank you Dominik & Rick!! Steve
  20. I think "Christine" my be a little upset about you giving her away! Steve
  21. Thanks Tom!! Steve
  22. Just came in the mail today! Eight more projects courtesy of Chrome Tech USA!! Steve
  23. Thanks Guys!! I appreciate it! Steve
  24. Thanks a bunch Bruce!! Steve
  25. Very nice Alan! I especially like the color. Must have been a pretty popular color on the Fords back then. I've seen it a lot. I planned on that color for a future '62 Mercury Monterey convertible build. Steve
