  1. Thank you Ray! Steve
  2. Gypsy Red & Shoreline Beige! Very nice! I did a '55 a couple of years ago in Shoreline Beige & Neptune Green. I love MCW paint!! I use pretty much nothing else. Other than the occasional black white or red from Duplicolor. Anything with metallic in it comes from MCW. Steve
  3. Thanks Matt! Steve
  4. That's the sort of reaction I've had with it also. I'm not too worried about the humidity here this time of year, but I tried a little bit on a firewall tonight & it really didn't leave much of a shine. dried almost as dull as the paint after 3 coats. I'm thinking I ma try & use a few coats of it to build up a "polishing base" & the put on a final coat of Testors to shine it up. Steve
  5. Anybody use or have experience using Duplicolor clear? I've tried it in the past & had some "fogging" issues. Was wondering if any one uses it on a regular basis or if you've used it & had trouble with it. I'd like to use it if possible. I've had a few issues with Testors clears lately & am exploring my options. I really like the "fan spray" nozzle with the duplicolor paints. I wish Testors would use them. Steve
  6. You're right in my wheel house Tony! In the past 3 years I've built about 34 kits. 14 of them between '55 & '59. 16 were between '60 & '62. The remaining 4 were '63, '64, '65 & '67. I probably have another 20 kits or so that I'll be building in the next couple of years, nothing newer than '67. Personally, I'm barely interested in anything before '53, & after '72. As far as I'm concerned, those were the real "style" years! Good luck with your builds! Steve
  7. I know the Model King re-issue of the '70 Ford police car had some very deep steelies. Sorry, no pics. Steve
  8. Put a little color on this project tonight. MCW #6758 "Dark Turquoise Metallic". Also known as correct 1965 "Royal Turquoise". I was really surprised at how close this was to Duplicolor 88-00958 "Arcadia Green" which I used as a base. Almost exactly the same color, only a little heavier in the metal flake department. Steve
  9. Thanks Curt! I really appreciate that! Steve
  10. Sorry Peter, somehow when this whole "builds for 2014" melee got started, I managed to miss your thread. One of my absolute favorites! Great work on all of them my friend! Steve
  11. Very nice stuff Tommy! That '64 Plymouth really jumps out at me. Maybe it's the color. I guess I didn't realize a '64 Plymouth Belvedere could look so nice! Steve
  12. You do some great work Tulio! Your paint is always flawless!! Steve
  13. While I will admit, these "classics" are not really my cup of tea, you really do some fantastic work on them Harry!! Steve
  14. Well, regardless, you did a great job! Those multi-piece bodies just make me cringe a little! Steve
  15. Every thing looks so clean! I'm NOT an AMC guy, but that Ambassador is really sharp! ( for an Ambassador) Seriously, Great work! Steve
  16. Your choice of subject matter is right up my alley Richard, as you know! Everything looks great! Keep up the good work! Steve
  17. I still can't figure out which is better, the models or the photography! I think I'm doing something wrong! Steve
  18. Very nice stuff Bruce! Steve
  19. Great stuff Alan! I really like the color on the Olds! Steve
  20. Nice stuff Michael! That pink Hudson still grabs me! Steve
  21. Nice stuff Sam! I really like the '49 woody! The color is "so right", & I'm still in awe of the Revell '59 Ford! One kit that I've had several of in my stash for years but never felt confident enough to tackle. Nice stuff! Steve
  22. Nice stuff Bruce! I especially like that '50 Olds! Steve
  23. Thanks Guys! Niko, supposed to get down to -7 tonight & -15 tomorrow night with wind chills in the -30 degree range! I guess winter is here! Steve
  24. Belated Christmas present from my wife!! Steve
  25. Welcome Tony! As far as the trim on the '58 Plymouth goes, it should be chrome with aluminum bright work in the middle. How you achieve that is entirely up to you. What I used to do is foil the whole thing & then put a coat of "dull coat" over the center section to simulate the aluminum. Now I mask & spray the aluminum section with "Alclad Polished Aluminum" & then foil the outer trim. There are many ways to do it, these are just a couple of ideas. Good to have you! Good luck! Steve
