  1. I have a bunch, can't count because some are in the garage and some are in the house on the workbench. I refer to myself as a model starter instead of a model builder as I am great at starting them but finishing them is another story!
  2. I struggle to get one of the Revell snap together 69 Camaros together in a month, and here you have been working hard on 6 glue together, well detailed kits done in a couple of months! Outstanding work, well detailed, and great execution. I am envious of your dedication.
  3. Very nice Carl! The paint is shiny and the foil work is outstanding.
  4. Stunning! Very nicely detailed, thought it was a real car!
  5. Don Mills Scale Models has some pretty accurate looking diamond plate plastic, along with a bunch of other like products.
  6. That and the price of a barrel of oil has climbed back up $10/barrel.
  7. I knew it was a Zimmer, couldn't pinpoint the year or model (it's been a crazy week!). IIRC, these were modified in a plant near Milwaukee WI. I think I remember seeing some of these at Road America in Elkhart Lake at one time.
  8. Not saying that the workers aren't in need of good wages and benefits, but when they average nearly $150,000/year in wages, I'd like to think they are doing much better than some of us who make a fraction of that! The effects on our economy will be great, deep and wide if they were to strike, be careful what you wish for. The CEO's making a better living at the workers expense? Yep, they get that from our politicians!
  9. I work for an auto parts company that relies on parts being shipped in from the Pacific Rim and this work slowdown has had an effect on our business big time. If this goes on much longer, I can say goodbye to another good sales year as the recovery time is a minimum of 3-6 months. I'd like to say that I am concerned about model kits, but reality is I am more worried about my livelihood.
  10. Casey, I am betting that they WILL use the chassis from either the Monte Carlo or the Buick Grand National- it will save them a ton of development costs and allow them to bring the kit to market quicker. While I think it will be a popular kit, it won't be a huge seller like a 69 Camaro or 57 Chevy, so they will have to cut corners to be profitable. I agree that they will milk this kit for several versions, stock, drag, maybe even a 442 or Hurst, whatever they can!
  11. I fall into the paint everything crowd, although I don't enter contests, it is for my own piece of mind. I feel like it should represent what the 1:1 would have been like back in the day.
  12. I contacted Dave Panek last year and he did not follow up with me on what he has/had available so I am not sure if he is still actively producing product.
  13. The recent AMT Rescue Van has some nice beacons. There is a nice one in the current Revell GMC wrecker kit, and I believe there is a vendor whose name escapes me that has all types of light bars and beacons. EDIT: www.CustomSquads.com has a bunch of beacons and light bars, fair prices.
  14. I will believe it when they are on a release sheet from Revell and not before.
  15. Keep at it and you will be amazed how quickly you improve your skills. Lot's of good folks here to bounce questions off of.
  16. Nice job and clean build Ron. I have several of those kits to start on soon!
  17. Probably will pick up another one of these as I am a sucker for old GM truck kits. I noticed that Tower has their free shipping promotion going on again so it just might be time to get an order together.
  18. Not sure if Hobby Lobby will be carrying this kit so you might be better off ordering from Tower or checking your local hobby shop.
  19. They were all beautiful rods and I would be happy to own any of them. I think the right one was chosen as the winner.
  20. Looks like an excuse to add some plastic body cladding and tack on another $8,000 to the sticker price! As P.T. Barnum said.....There's a sucker born every minute!
  21. The wait is killing me but judging by Chuck's build, it will be worth it! Glad to see the corrections made and while I would have liked to have this kit last year, getting it right is more important.
  22. Nice job on the conversion!
  23. Nice looking convertible and the color combo is perfect.
  24. Nice save and great job on converting it (pun intended!)
  25. Thanks for sharing Chuck! I will be getting a few of these for sure.
