  1. Nice work there Donn! Question- How do you get it soooooo shiny?
  2. Saw something on the news the other day related to this topic and haven't taken the time to verify it but it mentioned that something like only 30% of the GM vehicles are actually manufactured or assembled in the US- the rest are either North American (Canada or Mexico) or overseas. If I get the time tonight, I may do a little research as to what percentage of "foreign" vehicles are built in the US versus the "domestic". So, the question is this- Is a Chevrolet that is "assembled in Mexico" using Mexican labor more beneficial to the US economy because the "profits" are kept in the US over a Toyota that is assembled in Kentucky and presumably the profits go to Japan?
  3. Is this the same Andy who had trouble with his airbrush not that long ago and now he is a winner in an INTERNATIONAL model contest???? Way to go young man and Donn Yost summed it up- BELIEVE in yourself!!!!!! Let us know about those freebies one gets as a winner, maybe you can get Stacey to fix up that old Chevy pickup for you!
  4. Rub it in Jonathan! Those folks up near the Grand Canyon know what a snow plow is!
  5. I am with Casey in that before I say "yes" , I would like to see what is being offered. There was someone offering some resin beds a while back that were very crude and not completely cast and not worth the time or money.
  6. One word for that build................Sleeper! Very well detailed and clean build.
  7. I know CrazyJim is watching Monday Night Raw so I will say it........Shiny! Nice job, I like the different wheels.
  8. Chuck, I would have to say that this kit will be closer to the stepside kit you built. I remember building this same truck years ago and it went together pretty well, much better than the 76 Street Machine. This should be a good seller, especially if the plow assembly is close to the real thing. I don't need more GMC pickup kits (got about 8 of the '84 MPC kits in various stages) but if this plow assembly is decent, I might have to save some lunch money and get a bunch or hope that Hobby Lobby stocks them and I can use the 40% off coupon!
  9. Do you still sell them Kevin or have you discontinued that part of your offering?
  10. Awesome paint jobs, even the satin black Merc! Nice details and thanks for sharing.
  11. Very Nice! Great color and well detailed.
  12. Nice concept, makes you wonder why Dodge didn't do a factory version. Those tires really set that off.
  13. If it is like the old MPC Jeep plow kits, then there are probably 4-6 pieces total for the plow assembly. The lack of a lifting mechanism can be overcome by finding some chain in jewelry section at Michaels. Either way, it has been 40 years since we have had a kit with a snow plow for a pickup truck!
  14. I am planning on going, although work could change all that. I had a good time at the Simpsonville show and recently joined the SCMA so I just might have to go be a part of the club!
  15. Count me among the interested! Gonna come down to how much and looking at the pieces, I would suspect that you are looking somewhere in the $50 price range? I will start saving my lunch money now!
  16. Thanks for the updated picture Casey. I am curious as to who may have built that cover model and why it hasn't been posted on a forum? I would think with the interest generated so far that somebody would have wanted the rest of the modeling world to see it! I am wondering how detailed that plow assembly really is? Thanks again!
  17. Like others, I am in awe of your paint skills! I am still trying to master the airbrush and know that it is just a matter of practice and patience! Not a big fan of lowriders but have to admit that to do what you did requires some major talent and a lot of patience. Welcome to the forum and keep them coming!
  18. That came out really well Frank, nice job! Out of curiousity, how much resin did that take? I ask only because with the price of kits climbing, it gets harder to justify buying a kit for parts (engine, wheels, etc.) if you can resin cast copies cheaply.
  19. That is funny and true at the same time! I dated a girl who looked like Barbie but could not see marrying her- too much work!
  20. I think it all boils down to how you ask and what you are willing to do to get the deal done. I have kits and parts laying around that I may or may not ever build or use, but that doesn't necessarily mean I should go out and buy boxes and envelopes and wait for others to post their wants! As Jacen pointed out, walking up to someone and saying "Gimme!" is not the same as "Could you please help?" I do limited trades here typically with the same folks as I know what to expect and they do as well.
  21. Greg, Columbia is not necessarily Hurricane Alley, it is more like Phoenix with humidity! I was there last Friday and it was 109 plus a good dose of humidity, a wet heat if you will! Yes, we do get our share of hurricane related weather but it has been awhile since we took a direct hit.
  22. Trades can wait, take care of your health and family before worrying about some plastic parts!
  23. Looks good, that front end is slammed down pretty good, those 427s made them a little heavy in the nose. Nice fade job!
  24. Very nice and clean, as usual! I am starting to do the same thing, why bother with a ton of details if the stinking thing is just going to sit on a shelf? Probably will help get my completed build count doubled this year using that theory from 2 to 4!
  25. I am surprised there are not a few more dents in it, considering the snowy winters and doing donuts in the empty parking lots late at night!
