  1. I do believe that RMR does offer one, check out Star Models and I think they have it listed. Can't find the email or website addy but will keep looking!
  2. Looks like the Revell CJ-7 kit, taken to a whole new level! Quite impractical and would be a challenge to drive. There is definitely plenty of suspension travel and don't have to worry about the tires hitting the body. That engine probably would burn up the tires in no time!
  3. Hopefully they will come apart easily so you can restore them. The AMT Camaro body can be combined with the current Revell 69 Camaro chassis to give you a better detailed build. The chrome pieces for the Camaro can be had from The Modelhaus if they can't be saved. That Charger ain't much to look at, I personally would use a few firecrackers and put it out of it's misery! The 64 Dodge has potential, take your time and restore it.
  4. Thanks for pointing that out Roger, it is definitely not a state of the art kit! But, us truck modelers do have something new to glue and the plow will certainly help Revell sell a few of these! The lack of details is secondary for me, I am not much for super accurate detailed builds.
  5. John, I just ordered three of these (don't ask, it's a sickness I have!) from Tower Hobbies and they should be here by the end of the week. They have free shipping on orders over $30 and offer quantity discounts. I got my 3 for about $55, delivered to my front door. I could have waited to see when these showed up at the LHS but when I asked them last week they could not give me an answer or if they have even ordered any! Glad to help you out John. I have a couple of the AMT 84 GMC pickups and I know there are differences between the two, just glad to have a new truck kit to build and am really excited about the snow plow! Just got an email from Tower Hobbies with the UPS tracking information and it says my kits will be here tomorrow! I just might be busy this weekend tearing the wrapper off some model kits!!!
  6. I don't see any pictures, is it me?
  7. I also noticed that many of the plow parts have numbers in the instructions but aren't listed in the numerical listing. No big deal, just kinda interesting that they didn't list them!
  8. Gerry, I bet I have spent close to an hour studying those instructions, you got me distracted from doing work! I did notice that the engine assembly looks to have an EFI set up instead of a carb, wonder if that was intentional by Revell? Thanks again!
  9. That looks to be a lot more accurate than I originally thought. I have many vehicles waiting for this plow assembly and mounting equipment. There are at least 10 different vehicles in my stash that will be getting one of these plows, sure hope Revell can keep up with my demand!
  10. I could make a joke about it being the wife's mode of transportation but it is too warm to be sleeping in the garage! Nice bike and welcome back! Get some of those projects posted up here!
  11. That came out very nice! The color choices are perfect and nicely detailed! Keep them coming.
  12. That is very nice! Great color combo, and that black paint is sooooooooooooooooooo deep and shiny!
  13. I am with you 100% on this! I have zero interest in most of the new releases and would not buy a NASCAR kit, bit that doesn't mean there aren't thousands of others who will! As far as the pickup idea, I would buy some, depending on the make and model. An idea I have had in my mind is that if the kit companies were to offer a kit with several building options- dual wheels, flatbed, pickup bed, dump bed, wrecker bed, utility bed, ambulance bed. Probably pretty expensive but could be interesting to ponder. It would have wide appeal and maybe some of the resin guys could work with them on some of the options. If an all new kit is too much to ask, what about some of the old tools being fixed up? I find it hard to believe that the old MPC Dodge pickup could not be fixed somehow to be reissued again. The last kit that was offered was in Monster Truck form ( I have one 75% done) and while the hood was modified, the body and basic chassis is there. Some simple work to come up with the stock drivetrain and axles and a hood from the Modelhaus and BANG!
  14. Remember going there in my youth, lots of fun times. The new owners are nothing like Broadway Bob, but then I think anyone who met Bob would agree he is an original! RIP Bob!
  15. Harry, Just a question- will the online version be out before the printed copy? The reason why I ask is that if the printed copy comes out first and the newstands or LHS sell out their copies, how would one go about getting a hard copy if they like the magazine from the online preview? I chose to not renew my subscription as we have gone on a tight budget and had to cut back on some of the extras so looking at the mag online is a nice option.
  16. This forum and life, throw in a small dose of motivation, long hours at work, and a family that has needed me and there you have it. The good news is that things will slow down here in a month and then I can get some building done. Lately even trying to finish a snap kit with a quickie paint job has been a monumental task!
  17. I need to get started on the one I have in my stash. I have been wanting to build a replica of the Bronco a friend's dad had at his 76 station back in the late 70's/early 80's. Now that the Revell GMC Plow Truck is out I will be able to do that! Nice job and those wheels look right at home on that truck.
  18. Nice job Nick! The only flaw I see is that it looks like you have air shocks on all 4 corners but if I remember correctly, that is an inherent problem with the kit. I like the wheels, never did like those snowflake wheels that came on those cars. Your skills continue to improve and impress, keep at it!
  19. Most Hobby Lobby's have a classroom for various classes, maybe you can arrange to use it for meetings? Saturdays and Sundays are probably out but some week night (they close at 8 so you know you won't be out late!) Sell it to the store manager that your group will be spending money on a weekly basis and I bet you will have no problems. You might even look into a "Make-n-Take" event once you build up the club, might even get the store manager to sponsor it!
  20. Had plans to be at this show and get a table to sell off some kits but I am taking my son off to college in Vermont that weekend so I won't be able to make it. Hate to miss this show, some great people and equally great models!
  21. Not much more I can add to what has already been said but you and your family will be in our prayers. Take care of your family and come back here when you can.
  22. To add a few more tidbits to the discussion, you could only get a 4 speed manual trans and air conditioning was not an option either. Most Z-28s were not heavily optioned as they were viewed as factory ready race cars for SCCA Trans Am competition. The 4 wheel disc brake and cross ram intake manifold options found in the Revell kit are pretty rare in the real world.
  23. I found some at a Hobbytown USA in Richmond VA, about $2.95 if memory serves me correct. I will have to check out the website and see what else is available. I picked up some chrome, black and safety tape (for semi truck and trailers).
  24. I won't tell you to enjoy being 16, others have and they are right. In regards to the car insurance, we are in the same boat as you with my 18 year old son. We bought a $600 car and the first year the insurance in NC was $1600! We were able to get by a little cheaper by having him as the secondary driver of the car, that saved us $600 year, you may want to look into who is listed as the primary driver and how it is insured (liability only). Take a driving course if that helps the rates, be careful of how you drive, and be smart and don't cave in to peer pressure to drive fast or reckless!
  25. Does anybody know how many entries they got for this contest? Congrats to the winners!
