  1. I like the education aspect of this show. While I am not a huge metal head, I do enjoy learning about music and the stories and characters are pretty wild! I ran into Eddie Van Halen about 5 years ago here in Charlotte when they did their first re-united show with Diamond Dave. Like you, I just said thanks and have a nice day, I am sure he probably expected me to ask for pictures or an autograph but I figured he needed some rest after dealing with David Lee Roth!
  2. I went with Real, the details look too good to be a model and the paint is awfully shiny.
  3. That is coming along nicely Rob! Years ago I worked with a guy who had a 67 Nickey Camaro- low miles and near mint- and what a blast it was to drive. His had a black cowl induction hood with the body painted a turquoise green. It was a head turner for sure and it had torq thrust 5 spokes on all 4 corners. I like that Dana hood, something you do not see much of. Can't wait to see what you do with this and the convertible too!
  4. I got a new camera last week, just might have to make the trip! I was thinking about getting a table and selling some kits, still not sure!
  5. Your best bet is to research some other attractions in the general vicinity and make a short vacation out of it. There is a nice train museum in Union, IL and east of Volo is Six Flags amusement park in Gurnee along with the big outlet mall, Gurnee Mills. From Gurnee you are only 45 - 60 minutes away from Milwaukee and there are some neat hobby shops and a ton of other things to do. Later in July is the Wisconsin State fair and usually some good music acts of all tastes play there so you could have a great time without having to drive more than a couple hundred miles.
  6. If you have a Big Lots nearby, check them as they have a good selection of clear plastic containers with snap on lids. I like them because I can see what is in them easier than a cardboard box and stack easily. I think the brand is Sterlite and I think they have a website so you can see all that they have available.
  7. There are some nice resin automatics available out there. I believe MAD has a few different variations.
  8. That Testors Icy Blue will have a TON of metallic in it compared to the Tamiya. If you are going for a heavy metalflake finish, use the Testors, if you are looking for more of a factory color or less metalflake, use the Tamiya. I have used them both and the Testors would be more appropriate for a bass boat or custom show car paint job while the Tamiya looks like something that is a close factory match.
  9. Thanks Lyle, I need to get one for my upcoming 67 Camaro convertible project.
  10. Doesn't sound too good for him Patrick. Spend these upcoming days making him comfortable and asking him to relate stories that you can pass along one day to your children. If he is able to do a favorite activity, join him in it and put a smile on each other's face. Enjoy him while you can, life is too short !
  11. The history of Reliable Resin and members experiences have been well documented here Jordan and the posts become nasty and usually locked in a small amount of time. The best advice is for someone contemplating buying from an online supplier is to first ask for references or opinions from the forum, saves a ton of headaches and heartaches! My thoughts on resin buying are these: 1. Never send someone money you aren't prepared to lose. 2. Check with others before sending off your money. 3. Buy it in person at a show if at all possible. 4. If it seems to good to be true, then it probably is! There are some resin casters who you never hear a complaint about and they tend to have the highest quality product- coincidence or not? Two rules about buying via the internet: 1. Buyer Beware 2. There's a sucker born every minute.
  12. Me too! I have also made it a point to learn how to use the new digital camera my son bought us the other day at Best Buy before he leaves for college in 9 weeks!
  13. That's funny, considering your day job!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  14. For legal reasons I don't think we will ever see that happen here or on other forums. Slander is not something you want to be a part of in a lawsuit.
  15. Well Clayton, if you are referring to Reliable Resin, this topic is as good as locked! You will be attacked by the owner of RR and the moderators here will lock this up and delete faster than the blink of an eye! Lesson learned and hopefully you will eventually get your stuff but as Jonathan posted the other links, others have not fared well.
  16. I will say it before CrazyJim does...................................That's Shiny! Very nice, black is not an easy color to paint and you did it justice.
  17. Joe- i agree that they could/should make some updates to existing kits to give us updated models but when they have to change the whole body, that is where it gets costly. To take the Revell Z-28 and make it into the Yenko required a few changes (wheels, decals, engine) and probably not a big cost versus payback. I suspect that the upcoming 77 GMC truck with the snow plow has been delayed because of the extra tooling they needed to develop.
  18. Funny story Rob, I can only imagine what the neighbors would think if you took the dog out for a walk before washing the overspray off! Enjoy the cake and your birthday too!
  19. I will have a ton of relatives in town after celebrating my childrens' graduations the day before so some help cleaning up the yard and dealing with family would be my two biggest wishes! Don't really need any more models, although if Revell would see fit to get that 50 Olds, 57 Ford or the 77 GMC pickup kit released this week............................................!
  20. I believe back in the day that AMT had a 67 Camaro Pace Car model kit and promo. A good friend of mine has a 1:1 version and also has the matching kit and promo. As always, thanks for the history lesson Art!
  21. Tom, My 2010 catalog does not show those pieces available, have you checked their online catalog to see if they have added them? www.modelhaus.com or 217-864-4402 is their number, they are in central Illinois and Don & Carol are 2 of the nicest people you will ever meet.
  22. Thank you for making your posts readable and enjoyable, I appreciate it!
  23. Nice paint job and my opinion on the BMF is that it is like the old Life cereal commercial- Try it, you'll like it!
  24. From others postings here, Badger has an excellent customer service department and they go through the airbrush before returning it to you, so if you do send it for repairs, it sounds like they are a good bunch to deal with.
  25. That is good news as my subscription has run out and finances are too tight for a renewal, so it just may be one copy at a time. It would be helpful to know when the new issues are shipped to save me from having to make multiple trips to the store until the get the magazine.
