2017 Ford F150 Raptor

That looks fantastic! Those Revell snappers build up so well, have a few to finish myself. -
Robert Burns - How good is he?
mikemodeler replied to Maindrian Pace's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
I have 4 bodies from Robert but luckily they have easily found donors for chassis and interiors. I ordered three more on this last run and while it's pretty pricey, the stuff I will have may never be offered in a plastic kit so I can have something I would otherwise wish for. The accuracy of his bodies is what drew me to buying from him. I need to get mine done soon. -
I stand corrected! I thought it was the LT-1 version, my bad.

The Yenko kit was a small block, as was the Nova SS. The Revell 68 El Camino may have the correct big block stock exhaust manifolds. The exhaust can be modified to fit. The Revell 66 Chevelle wagon has stock BB exhaust manifolds.
-
A proper set of manifolds and exhaust system can be found in the Yenko Nova (red car on box) or Nova SS (blue car on box) kits from Revell. The chambered exhaust was not as common. The cowl induction hood on the COPO / ZL-1 Camaro is fairly common and wouldn't be surprised to see it included in the kit.

It's a shame it's not the Monogram snap kit, it was a hardtop and has a nicely proportioned body without the ill fitting T-Tops.

History of Monogram's Squarebody GM Pickups

I'd be in for that hardtop and hood. Seems like a no-brainer for someone with a 3D printer (hey Iceman!) -
1/25 Revell '69 Chevrolet Camaro SS 396
mikemodeler replied to Casey's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
So they took the ZL-1 kit and added a new hood and possibly some decals? I have a couple of hoods from Norm and can build that version from my stash.- 91 replies

Might get another 32 and maybe that Camaro, just wish it was the hardtop version and not the T-Top.
-
Yes, I saw that too. Hopefully the parts can be removed and reversed.
-
let's hope a resin caster or the 3D printing community can come up with a top for this Blazer to give us the chance to build it stock with the parts from the '76 StepSide.

That McLaren looks intriguing, haven't seen that before, what can you tell me about it? Have you built one before?

Suggestions for New or Returning Modelers
mikemodeler replied to Ouch1's topic in Model Cars Magazine News and Discussions
Another thing to keep in mind is that this is a global site, so someone in Europe might have access to products those of us in the USA don't. As has been mentioned, ask questions, most everyone here is willing to share their knowledge and sources of information and products used. -
I have several of those old issue Monogram snap 81 Camaros, will definitely get a few more if for nothing else the decals. That 69 is on my radar and I'll probably grab a couple of the Silverados and maybe that Pulldozer, but it's likely the Mad Mudder which I have a couple of. If they found the top for that Blazer then I am in!

Maybe we can do some trading with Michael? I am sure some of us would love some real Swiss chocolate in exchange for kits in our stash!
-
Be sure to search the forums, lots of talent and knowledge here. Guys like Niteowl77 have a lot of knowledge on kits new and old and seems to have a source of information on new stuff coming. There are many here who are very mechanically inclined and have engineering know how and have been willing to share it. Acegarageguy seems to be a top source of all things mechanical. Make sure you share your builds, would love to see them.

Do you have any local hobby shops or do you have to shop online? I don't have hobby shops near me so some of my friends have shown me some great online places as well as eBay. What kind of muscle cars do you like?

Welcome, would love to hear about the model car scene over there!

Am I missing something? I tried reading the posts and can't understand what's going on. Meanwhile, I had some last minute projects dropped in my lap an hour before quitting time while I am headed for vacation next week. The joys of being on the East Coast and your boss is on the West Coast and has no idea of the 3 hour time difference.

Motion detected lawn sprinkler. Check it out.

It's a kit that looks complete, box is trashed but parts are all there. I am going to build it.
-
Sorry, I still have a couple in the stash left over from when Big Lots was selling them for $5.
-
As soon as I buy a MPC Supra kit off of eBay they go and announce it being reissued! Should have known better, same thing happened last year when I bought the old 78 Ford Bronco Wild Hoss kit. Anybody have other kits they want reissued, let me know and I will buy it off of eBay to help the cause.

That is nice, are those the kit wheels and tires?
