If the prices of model kits today trouble you, then maybe you need to find another hobby. The price we pay is in direct correlation to manufacturing costs and distribution. Why can't the local hobby shop compete with Hobby Lobby? The local hobby shop is not buying at the same level as HL. There are many other hobbies where prices have risen over the years and people have bemoaned the increases without realizing so much else had gone up too. Would I like to revert back to 1980 and get kits for $4.99? Sure, but then I was only making $3.25 per hour and there was other things my 17 year old self was focused on besides model kits so the real answer is no, I am better off today then I was then.

‘97 Ram 3500 Club Cab

Modelhaus Tires has a nice set of resin wheels and tires. They show these out of stock but check with them, they are probably in the process of making more. https://www.modelhaustires.com/collection/802 -
Bring your lunch money, I will be there with some goodies to sell! Kits, Parts, Resin all priced to move!

My thoughts exactly! As I type this I have a closet with 300+ kits staring at me and I surely don't need anymore as I won't live long enough to open all of them, much less build them!
-
Check with Joseph, might be easier to get one now before he puts them on website!
-
While he has yet to update his website, in a recent conversation I had with Joseph at Fireball he mentioned that he was bringing the F-250 conversion kit back and has simplified it a bit. Not sure what all that means but if you truly want a F-250 4x4 conversion for the Ford kits, his is top notch!

Might be able to find someone to trade you the decals so you don't have to buy the kit.

That Ramcharger is a 1/24 scale kit, the Moebius is 1/25.

Chad showed the box rather quickly so I wasn't able to see if it is molded in red or not, but some of their recent Coke offerings were molded in red (72 C-10 pickup). The previous version of that El Camino is relatively easy to find.

Nothing jumped out at me in that video so my wallet is safe. Interesting to see the 68 El Camino back out in Coke livery, they sure are milking that license!

The Moebius 67-72 Ford Trucks have been plagued with hood warp issues since day one. There also some other fitment issues with them but to my knowledge nothing has been done to correct them throughout the production run. As we have seen with the Ramp Truck, the problem was worse with the bed being warped along with other parts. May be the molding process, may be the kitting process after molding, may be material thickness used for the parts, not sure as I am not a plastics engineer. The fact that the old Racers Wedge body is 50 years old and it can be run without the problems Moebius is having tells me maybe they (Moebius) should look at how they (Round2) are able to be successful. My concern is that the replacement parts won't be any better (as evidenced by someone posting a replacement hood as bad as the original) and the costs associated will prevent Moebius from releasing other kits.

Pin strips and Photo Etch
mikemodeler replied to Perspect Scale Modelworks's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
www.modelroundup.com Go to the decal section and then look under hot rod decals, flames & stripes. Several to choose from, also has photo etch listed. -
Iceman Collections has a GMC grille for the 64-66 Revell trucks.
-
-
All one would need is the transfer case, front drive shaft, front leaf springs and shocks in addition to what you mention above.
-
Indeed it was Rookie Resin that was making the corrected grilles for the Fords, hope he is able to re-start his business.

They were developed to help meet the Federal CAFE mileage standards and have a life expectancy of about 100,000 miles, depending on how they are driven/serviced. I have owned/driven 2 Nissans and 2 Hondas with a CVT and have mixed reviews about them. Currently own 1 Nissan but have a lifetime warranty on the trans so should any issues come up, I should be okay.

If adding retro art to a re-issue generates additional income for Round2 to invest in more kits, then I will live with it. I see both sides of this discussion and agree with them, realizing the older modelers may have more disposable income to buy the nostalgia angle being marketed versus younger modelers who may or may not care or have the same budget for purchases.

I'm sure they designed it purposely that way, increase sales. You might be able to use Fireball wheels and tires on the blue version if you are wanting it with the winch and roll bar. I want the stock version with the snowplow, maybe we can work a deal on trading the wheels & tires?

The ACME show in November is on the first Saturday and it is worth the drive. The quality of the models as well as the large swap meet makes it "THEE" show to attend. There are also some shows in SC and Florida, depending on how far you want to drive.

Revell in Omaha (2022 IPMS Nats)
mikemodeler replied to niteowl7710's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Thanks for sharing. Definitely getting that Z-28, I have some kits those decals will look nice on and one kit has 4 different sets, much cheaper than buying them separate. Hopefully Revell has figured out the tires in that Blazer kit, but I won't hold my breath. The 32? Might get one as those wheels are nice.
