  1. Wow. I am happy with a few add ons, have never considered full on custom stuff like you are, would be too worried about getting bogged down in the details and never finishing it. I already have a pile of WIPs that are 90% done and most of them are box stock.
  2. So over the years I have lent model parts and kits to folks who develop resin parts and almost always get the parts returned promptly and usually with some extras for my generosity. Earlier this year I sent some stuff off and have yet to get it back, despite the person having used it to develop some parts with it. I get that we have things come up and life is hectic, but I think ignoring emails after saying it would be shipped soon is wrong.
  3. Nothing like making things harder Bill! That should be interesting to see the marriage of the two materials, not to mention detailing the trunk area. You are a far braver person than I am for undertaking such a project. Will this complicate the build and keep you from meeting the deadline?
  4. I remember buying these for $5 each at Big Lots a long time ago. Still have one or two left.
  5. Thanks Bill, looking forward to seeing the updates. My great Uncle Ernie had a Stude like this one and the only racing he did was to the liquor store on Friday night to stock up for the weekend! Do you use a photo hosting site for your pictures? I am not familiar with them as I build so slow that I rarely take pictures of my work so I didn't know if they cost money to use as you referenced "billing cycle" and am thinking they charge you every time you post pictures there.
  6. I have at least one of each of those except the ThunderZ plus I have two of the Turbo Z above. Nice kits, takes some work to make them look presentable but overall okay builds.
  7. Is this what you are going for? Those look like 5 lug wheels?
  8. Hey Bill, can you post up some pictures of previous builds? When I searched I saw a lot of posts of yours with comments and advice, haven't been able to find others? With your background I am sure you have some trick ideas up your sleeve!
  9. I should have known that my buying those old MPC Camaro kits over the last 18 months would spur them to reissue a version of it by now!
  10. What all are you planning on doing to this? I see the chassis was cut up, are you planning on using running gear from a model or scratch building stuff? How does this translate from your day job, meaning have you done something like this before (updating an old car with newer/better components)?
  11. Bridgestone Mud Duelers were available from Scenes Unlimited, not sure if he still offers them.
  12. Just about? I challenge you to find another build here that comes close to this. It is incredible the details and numerous scratch built components that make up this build.
  13. An absolute work of art. Looks every bit the part of the real thing, it's been fascinating to watch this build. The skill and detail is unbelievable, wish I could do the same.
  14. Grabbed a few needed things at the Hobbytown USA in Kennesaw GA today while I was in the Atlanta area and as an added bonus, had lunch with ZoomZoom too!
  15. I passed that team hauler earlier today as it was on it's way to Talledega.
  16. That is spectacular Brian! Love how you used the IH chassis and that old GMC for the load is great too!
  17. You are better served posing that question to model manufacturer than here on the forum. I'm afraid here you would get such a wild variety of answers by members that you might not get the real one.
  18. That truck is (somewhat) available right now. Take the current Firestones pickup and use the cab. Get the grille conversion from Texas 3D Customs. Use a Fireball Modelworks 4x4 conversion kit. Grab the correct bed from Morgan Auto Detail and you have that truck. Granted you will have over $100 in parts and kit, but unless and until someone kits that series of Fords, that is your option.
  19. While great in theory and practical to boot, it just opens up a whole set of problems. Hard to believe, but there are people out there that would try to get Moebius to make them whole on a kit like that by asking for replacement parts, starting the cycle all over again! To your point though, if one was to part out the kits - engine/trans; axles/suspension; etc. then maybe it makes sense.
  20. That is looking awesome! You have done more in a month with those parts than I did in 5 years! Love the wood deck,

  22. They can't for the very reason many have stated about the defects in the first place- the kit would be unbuildable. How willing would you be to purchase a kit with it missing key components? It's one thing if optional parts are not there, but the hood and ramp bed? Even at half price it is asking a lot of a buyer to accept something like that.
  23. Ron Olsen has a bunch of 3D files for wheels, maybe he has something you can use.
