  1. Hooligans! I call you!
  2. Here it is, nearly done! Both guns and ruler, for comparison. These guns look at home in any military, police, hillbilly, etc. vehicle. Here are the two you've seen with a double shorty in Jeepish.
  3. Look for my later post way down for an improved shot of that tan rifle. Try this, show me what you got! Here's what you can make with simple materials in the space of an hour, give or take. If there's enough interest in this, I'll experiment with handguns, machine guns, and revolvers, then report back to you guys in how to make em! **************************** Take some plastic, the thin sheets, like this. Draw a gun on it, as good as you can. Cut out three rectangles of it, bigger than the size of the gun in question. (That's the one I made from this method, used as a template. First, when I made it, I just drew the gun. Practice on paper first if you're unsure how it'll come out on styrene.) Pencil won't smudge like pen, but I don't have a pencil on me right now. Now put glue on the face of one, put another firmly on top, and clamp it. I don't have clamps, but you can press it with a book onto another book really hard to ensure a good bond. Repeat until you get to the one with the gun shape on top. Now use a cutoff wheel in a Dremel/motor tool to cut away relatively close to the lines. Finish cutting down to the lines with a sharp X-Acto knife, and then file smooth. Round the edges on the stock for a more realistic feel. Now cut off where the barrel is, and find an appropriate piece of sprue to use for it. Draw outlines of any more details you're going to have. This is going to be a hunting rifle, Mosin-Nagant reminiscent. Add your barrel. Drill out the end of it if you feel it is necessary. Add scopes, flashlights, laser sights, muzzle brakes, clips, etc. now. I'm adding a clip to this. Seems it evolved into an M1 Carbine... Now add a trigger guard of thin, thin, thin plastic. I neglected to do this on the shotgun. Now, sand it smooth with fine grit paper to make sure there are no glue spots, etc. that may impede paint. Then, go at it! This is the first coat.
  4. Some people don't have the capacitor for nerd puns; I, however, cannot resistor them
  5. Dove in headfirst with the putty. From what little I've experienced with it so far, I like it more than the Tamiya stuff. It seems to be curing already, and feels more plasticky. This is the first run.
  6. Remember this? Grafted in a cowl a while ago, think on the 23rd? Grafted is a mushy term for this. It's more like "I put a piece of plastic over the hole and glued it more or less flat..." I went around and sanded most of the edges of joins flat. Filed the hood and trimmed a little off it just to get it flat, I'll have to now build it up with more tiny strips. Those little hairs you see there are stringy remains of the plastic body. It's that China-y plastic that you can dig into with a fingernail, and it holds glue only when it wants to, but sanding it to get some tooth helps. I finally get to use this putty I got for Christmas. "Mr. White" putty? As in Walter White? Bomb nursing homes, cook crystal meth, make model putty... Slathering putty on this tonight, let's see how it goes...
  7. Heck, looks better than my builds Nice paint, nice execution... Les see more! I think you'll fit in well with the other truck guys here.
  8. Old Monogram 1939 Chevy street rod and possibly the rereleases have an SS427 BBC with blower in it.
  9. GIF, correctly (supposedly) pronounced "jif," stands for Graphics Interchange Format. It's the last panel, i.e. a picture series condensed to play in an infinite loop.http://www.reactiongifs.com/r/2tYt6V9.gif
  10. I've seen the pictures of it.... Fist sized holes in the cab floor, about.... uh, ten or so?
  11. I've heard good things about Vallejos, too. Our LHS doesn't have them, and we don't get there very much anyways... However, Walmart has Apple Barrel paints. Gloss paint in a 2oz bottle is 99¢, and matte finish is 50¢. Can't beat that, usually takes two coats though. Comes out nice, cleans up when wet with water, easy to thin and mix....
  12. Here's a picture of that GN FA. Pretty cherry for $25+s&h!
  13. He lived in the sand at the Isle of Man. Too easy!
  14. I love Royal Blood. Been hooked on them since I saw them on Jimmy Kimmel. I posted the lyrics to "Out of the Black," but nobody guessed it.
  15. Got Caught Stealing, yes I suppose I oughtta look into them. Y'know I've found some good music in here.... I've also found people who like LZ and REO Speedwagon
  16. Just joined the '15 Cannonball! Incentive to finish something in the coming year, huh?
  17. Alright, I've decided to jump in! Count me in with a rusty '55 Chevy Stepside. It's going to have thin tires all around (my favorite Firestone Supremes, should I manage it), nice rust holes, junk in the bed, dirty interior, rusty wheels.... And a blown 427 with dual velocity stacks, and two straightpipes our the back with a Cherry Bomb glasspack on each one!
  18. There's a Craigslist ad that I'm tempted to answer nearby us.... $100 for a rusty Jeep FC pickup, running and yard driving...
  19. When I want something and I don't wanna pay for it I walk right Through the door Walk right through the door Hey, alright! If I can't buy it It's-a mine Mine-all-mine, hey!
  20. Unless it's "My Name is Jonas," I dunno.
  21. Richard "Snake" Mesner has a great how-to on how to make one. I've done it twice and they come out nice. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=94431
  22. I would buy that one just for the radio gear!
