Thanks guys very much, and yes, the scoop is a tad huge, but as you saw, needed to be.. It was a fun build though..

    DTM Firebird

This is my second Foose Firebird for the year, the first was basic, and difficult to get as low as i wanted, so this one needed to be DIFFERENT, and LOW.. I blended the Firebird with a DTM Mercedes....... to get my DTM Firebird. The DTM Chassis was played with quite a bit to get it to fit inside the Firebird body, but i managed to retain all the DTM suspension etc, and most of the interior too, just made the Firebird dash fit around the roll cage, which was modified to fit inside the body. There is a huge amount of body work, as you can tell, to fit the wheels under the body, also scratch made the rear wing. Paint is Orange Auto Acrylic. This was a lot of fun just trying to make everything work.
  10. That is VERY NICE Jim, love the color, cool work on the interior, and SUPERB work on those throttle linkages, they would have done my head in for sure.

That is something i will never have to worry about, as i could never afford a 1:1 version., but i know what you mean, i suppose the wheels would need different offsets, which isn't exactly available in the scale world with out having things specially made, but as it will only ever sit on the shelf, it doesn't bother me, i just build them to look good.. Thank's too guys..
  12. A very nice tidy build, color really suits it too.
  13. That is such an incredibly detailed and tidy build. I take my hat off to you sir.. MAGNIFICENT BUILD. !!
  14. Nice build, great interior detail too. If you run your thumb nail along the edge of your tape, this often helps prevent paint bleed.
  15. A Mopar and a scalpel.... and see what pops out at the end..
  16. My ex wife didn't mind at all, ( model and 1:1) my son built quite a few kits ,until girls and real cars came along, now he enjoys the 1:1 passion i also have. As for present partners, if they don'y like the model cars or real cars....... NEXT !!!!!!!! Life is too short worrying about what everybody else thinks.. we all need a hobby of some sort. My son will always buy me a kit for birthday and christmas, he don't need to ask anymore.

Sorry Jim, i skipped your question...... i just used some Dupli color Gunmetal grey, with a squirt of purple in it to do the whole under chassis and wheel centers, to tie in together.. Thanks all ..
  18. No, it is the nature of Candy paint, i had Spray Chief Candy Purple over a burgundy pearl base on my car, the sunny side dropped about 6 shades of depth after about a year, and when i took the hood scoop off after a few years, it was a massive difference. It was clear coated with the good stuff too.. Said car in question".

Thanks guys, and YES, it is the Dual Ram EFI set-up, it is very clean for resin parts, all i had to do was file down the 8 runners to the height and angle i wanted it to sit, so about 5 mins work. All the VCG stuff i ordered is top quality.
  20. This is the Lindberg MAVERICK Dodge 330 Super Stock....... WAS !! I don't really do race cars, they just don't do it for me, i like tough road cars, so....... I started by building my own 4 link rear, and lowering the front to fit the Aoshima wheels up under the fenders just nicely. I also had to remove the inner fenders, and replaced them with some old pro street ones. The engine has a VCG Resin intake, and the rest is pretty well what was in the box. Paint is Dupli-color Antelope.
  21. Thanks everybody, i am very happy with the result, EXCEPT for the chip in the paint where the windscreen was just too tight a fit after all the paint..
  22. Thanks Steve, i think they are 1/32 scale big rig .

Interior color choice really works with that BEAUTIFUL body paint...
  24. Sweet build, i love the color scheme... And very nicely detailed. As i am a Mopar guy, this is VERY nicely done Dann .
  25. Quite often, i will build a New kit, then recycle an old build, or use an old one for donor parts, as kits are $40-70 here in Australia. This way, it off sets the price of modeling..
