  1. It's the suspension setup. Some of the trailer my conan uses on the dump truck division and a lot of the Cozad!s, Murrays, and other over size trailers use it. Some of the truck kits use this setup. It's made by Hendrickson and there's 2 setups. Extended leaf and rubber mount. With my experience pulling these trailers, when turning, the axles tend to "walk" and not track straight in line like a Reyco leaf spring or any air bag setup.
  2. #1 has a turntable, non detachable connecting gear. That's why the frame steps like a container/Connex trailer. The front 2 axles turn.
  3. That's gonna look great Ken. One of these days I'll attempt a paint scheme with small pinstriping. Your movin right along on this.
  4. Guess I'm the odd man out in this "vote". I still think #1 would be an awesome build. Not that there's anything wrong with #2. They both would look great.
  5. I got my 2nd right before prices starting climbing on the Will Do. Someday I'll get to the 1st kit.
  6. Option 2 would be the easiest I think, but option 1 would look awesome.
  7. Man....those look nice. I'm gonna have to buy something just so I order some more of your stuff.
  8. Great save Sean. Your color scheme and colors remind of a company, long gone, out here. It was called Guthmiller Trucking Inc. I may have to Google it and see if I can find a pic or 2.
  9. Thanks guys. So far it's been pretty good. No issues. I got the trailer wheels polished up already, started putting my nut covers on, switched out the marker lights on the truck box for beehive L.E.D.s, today I might pick up some mudflaps weights. I'm slowly makin it my own.
  10. Parts look great Chris. Too bad your not enjoying the build right now. I know what you mean about it becoming a job. When your trying soo hard to get it done, it's not fun. I'd say put it on the shelf and try to finish for next year. With soo much awesome detail and work, it would be a cryin shame to cut a corner or a few just to get it done because your tired of lookin at it.
  11. Nice, very nice man. I'm still workin on the kitchen counter. Someday I tell ya, someday.....
  12. That's awesome Tom. Looks like your gettin setup just right. And congrats on the wife understanding you need "some" room. Hope she does realize how much room your gonna need for trucks and trailers. I'm really lookin forward to the day I can have a space like that. It'll have to be locked with the little one runnin around the here, but that's fine. I'll learn the young lad, and hope he gets into modelling.
  13. I should've been more clear myself, sorry Gregg. The B&N in Victorville, Ca didn't have it before, but now they do.
  14. Can't wait see this come together. I may have to change direction with my 367. I really like how this company specs out their trucks. This will an awesome lookin build when you get it done.
  15. My 29 is pushin 58 out the back. It's a special edition Harley Davidson radio. The first radio I've ever bought brand new. Now, my Magnum S6 is pushin 126 out the back. It's wrapped up, in a box, in my closet, with my Conne Aut, Ohio Astatic mic. I'm not gonna put that radio in this truck. We go down too many rough dirt roads. I have another hopped up 29 in my pick up, a bunch of friends and i go wheel around the mountains on powerline roads and whatnot. The worst radio I own is a Galaxy 959. It has issues the shop can't figure out. It's modulation is scattered across the entire thing. I think it's junk. I'm takin the new truck on its first round trip run today. I'm gonna have about a 1000 mile loop, ending back in my yard tomorrow afternoon. Hopefully I don't hurt myself tryin to step on the "air" clutch, or fall asleep of pure boredom with nothing to occupy my mind besides watching what's in front of me. After so many years of multitasking, I know I'm gonna be stopping for a nap or 2.
  16. A buddy of mine was driving a PACCAR rental that had the anti-roll protection on it. He said the first time it slammed on the brakes and everything was a real check your drawers moment. He was doing 40 into a 50 MPH curve, so it really got his attention. I remember driving g a truck once that had the lane sensors. This loud as all hell buzzer would sound off if the truck got close to either line. That whole radar controlled cruise is a dangerous thing in my opinion. If they would teach these rookies how to pay attetion, stuff like that wouldn't be needed. This truck will slowly get my treatment. I can't add any lights yet (warranty thing). But I will be switching out the lights that are there. All the marker lights will be the 3 1/4" watermelon L.E.D. cab lights. Then I'll be adding about 30 more as soon as I can. But for now, mudflaps weights, trailer wheels and fuel tank polished, fenders repolished, and some green L.E.D. interior lights will be happening. My hopped up Cobra 29 LTD is already installed, some of my nut covers got put on this afternoon. I'm gonna try to make it a working show truck, try, but it'll never be a Pete. No matter how much chrome or Washington I do to it.
  17. I know a few owner ops out here that are putting that Allison in gliders with a 6NZ in front of it. My first thought was, WHY. Why waste a 6NZ with an automatic. But those guys run A LOT in traffic.
  18. Why they gotta mess with Glenn again. *****TWD*****
  19. I'm a bit on both sides about it. It's lighter, by 3000 pounds, it's new (206 miles when I got in it), electric tarps on both boxes, 500 horse DD15 Detroit. Now for the downer, to me. It's an Autoshift Eaton. I don't like it, I don't like that that's how the industry is going, but I've accepted it, the 15% pay increase helps. My company usually uses the boxes off the older trucks that are getting replaced. But, since we're increasing the size of our fleet, this truck is 100% new. No issues, worked perfect right out the gate. This is 1 of 2 we received yesterday. We will be receiving 3 more all new units in a few weeks. After these next new trucks, any future new units, will have a manual trans in them, but with the smaller DD13. It's only gonna be 400 horse, but about the same weight, maybe 300 pounds lighter. So I chose to take the more powerful automatic.
  20. The only thing missin are the muddy bikini girls. Looks like this would be right at home at mudfest. Nice job.
  21. Nice job Brian. I've been wanting to build one of these. Looks very much like a mobile home relocation vehicle.
