Nice job! I like how you did the Aerocab. -
Saw this too last night. What a shock. I remember watching his BMX stuff and the video games.

The top pic looks like a CAT hood. Oh yeah, they are the same trucks, nevermind. I'm not an Intertrashional guy, but if they (Moebius) put out a highway version, I'd build a couple. -
The difference is just the angle of the Aerocab. It has an angle, just not as much as it may seem. The side windows should line up with forward facing windows. If they dont, AMT got it wrong. The windows should be even, no matter what year, at least on this style. The work you have done so far looks great. I'm lookin forward to seeing what you do next.

Cutting the air bags is a must. Either cut a section out of the middle or as Sean said make new ones. My first 378 I lowered it by hacking, I mean notching all the axles. I was 13 then. Now I know better. I pulled off the look I wanted but a big truck should never have negative camber. -

All I added was an inch. The funny part is, I wanted it longer. I'm still happy with the outcome. -
Truckers, What's in those boxes?
Petetrucker07 replied to 10thumbs's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Michael, our fuel tanks are 125, 110 at 90% capacity. Not going to get on my soap box again, but, my company gets paid off the weight. The lighter the truck, the more it makes. And then there's a whole other argument about light weight trucks and a bunch of other things that my company doesn't seem to care about. -

I remember my first blow out, it's was with Schneider. I drove a day cab and they just put on a fresh set of 8 recap drive tires. I got 30 miles away from the yard and BANG! That cap came around amd smack the back of the cab a couple times, beat the snot out of the fuel tank step. Let me tell you, that got my attention. -

You might have some trouble with cab to hood fit, like most truck kits. Be prepared to do some trimming and shaving in places, either to the cab mounts or the cab. It seems like the front of the cab sits too high on the frame and creates a tapered gap when the hood is closed. Here is my Prostar. -

Looks good man. Remember there are a lot of brackets that need to be put on before you paint. I've made that mistake before and it caused be to shelf a project or 2. -

Back when my started driving dump trucks, about 90, they had big bottle jacks, knocker bars and a premounted spare. They would drive 30 or 40 miles out on dirt roads to load rock, sand or clay or whatever. There wasn't any cell phones then, so they did a lot themselves. They had a kit to fix holes in fuel tanks, extra fuel filters and an extra brake can (both style). Now fast forward to now. Same (basically) equipment, premounted spare, no tools, no extra parts, just a list of road call numbers. The company wants us to be drivers and perform any repairs. I carry a basic set of tools so I can fix a bad light connection, extra ferels and air line connectors. I don't like having to wait for a road call if it's something I know how to fix. I've done a few repairs to get it home and they didn't know how to act. I said just say thank you for saving the company money. -
HHMMMM?!?! Orange? Really? LOL...Just messin with ya. The paint looks really smooth man. This is gonna be a good lookin unit. Can't wait to see how you go about adapting the ramps to this. Hope those reference pics help. If you need more, I can hook you up. There are a few car haulers that stay at the same hotel as we do.

At most batch plants it would be hard. Some you couldn't even get that under the shoot. -

My company orders the trucks with a single fuel tank, typically on the driverside. We do it for weight savings. The pictures of my truck, the passenger side, that's a small hydraulic tank, some of trucks the hydraulic tank is under the dump body, the step is just a cover for the exhaust filter. The driver side, the fuel tank and the box lookin deal by the hood fender, is a cover for the DEF tank. -

I have a build going of something similar. I'm using the Moebius 69 F100 and a Revell Boss 302 kit for parts. Mine will not be red and not supercharged, but will be slammed just as low. -
