  1. Lookin good dude. These little details are gonna be the cherry on top. The pedals are lookin awesome already.
  2. Yes, it is for weight. On a standard closed tandem setup, it's good for a legal weight of 34000 pounds. With a spread, it's legal to 40000 pounds. Most modern spread setups have either or both, dump valve and lift axle. That prevents the dragging and damage to tires. But, a good driver knows how to drive with a spread axle trailer, so damage doesn't happen.
  3. Lookin great man. This beast is coming together.
  4. Lookin great. You'll have this done in no time.
  5. He's just stirring the pot. I really doubt he's serious. When I read it, I laughed.
  6. Thanks Gator and Brian. I'm hoping to get rest of the rear cut out and begin on the structure to support the tires. I'm gonna order the tires that will be for the Trophy Truck I'm building, so I can mount those in their location on this. I'm still undecided how much fabrication I want to do on this. Since the TT will be basically totally fabricated.
  7. I have a Trophy Truck planed after I build the chase trucks and transporter. My TT will be something that will take time and lots of learning. Soldering will be involved that's for sure.
  8. I'd go chrome. You can't go wrong since everything else is chrome. Where did you get those "lug nuts". I'm really thinkin of building a 1/16 scale.
  9. Dammit! You beat me to it. I will be watching this come along. Nice start so far.
  10. I found this article. http://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/2-chip-foose-cars-win-fan-vote-for-revell-model-kit-production-300112724.html
  11. That's awesome. I remember seeing pics somewhere and in Dances with Wolves, a freight stage that was doubles. It's cool to see how things were done before engines.
  12. Looks great Dennis. Your attention to detail is amazing. The DOT bar folds! Excellent touch.
  13. Figured this would be a nice project to take on the road with me and work on in the hotel. I switched the kit rim and tires with the Rubicon pieces. Guess my plans for that have changed, but I'll get to that someday. I roughed out the rear section, removing the tailgate and some of the bed floor and molded frame. I can't work on the upper spares till I order some things from Fireball.
  14. I get a lot of my parts from Ryan, Rhino's Truck Parts. His ebay name is Rhino9905, his email is Rhino9904@yahoo.com. He makes really nice parts. I have zero complaints about his work, communication, his parts are, again, really nice. He does headaches racks occasionally also.
  15. Guess I better get a couple more of each while I can. LHS here I come.
  16. Llokin really good. The details are outstanding.
  17. Thanks for checkin in guys. Here's my plan for the rear spare tire setup. Here's my inspiration. A 4 door Raptor done in the Rough Riders scheme. My build will remain an extra cab.
  18. Nice start. The stretch lower job look great. Lookin forward to what's next.
  19. Here's my version of Revell's Raptor. I'm sure there are a few that know what a chase truck is, and for those who dont, it'll all make sense when my "Factory" team is done. This truck will require at least 2 kits and parts from a few others. Here's a pic that roughly resembles my direction for this. The rear spare tires will be hung lower and more off the back, tail gate will be removed. The upper spares will be mounted in the same location, in the bed more. Custom rear bumper will be fabricated out of styrene rod, same with the front bumper and light bars. I'm thinkin of fabricating a dash, still unsure right now. A basic cage will be added to the interior as well. Those who know off road racing in the early 90s, you can probably guess the paint scheme. Thanks for lookin, comments are always welcome.
  20. I'd buy that even if all that was good is the cab and sleeper. Nice get Chuck.
  21. As are skate boards with no wheels, but rockets added. But I'm sure a few of us still remember that item from the 80s, it's called a dust buster.
