Colors and execution spot on. Call me sheepish but it never accrued to me to add chrome to the convertible top until now!

Turbine Hydroplane
James2 replied to James2's topic in WIP: All The Rest: Motorcycles, Aviation, Military, Sci-Fi, Figures
The body, being two parts, did not fit well. The pins were too long and the locating holes were too small. I trimmed and enlarged them but the body seam still didn’t line me up as nicely as it could have. In hind sight I should have just cut the pins off and glued the two pieces together. -

And then there's this, very interesting mix... -
Good talking to you the other nite, DJ. Travel not by choice but necessity!

Splash Paints has a 2x primer that might eliminate this issue, I purchased some but have not applied any yet. Any plastic might react to Tamiya primer/paint in my experience. Have you tried buffing yet?

Thanks, I have the parts to do this but the fit seemed sketchy to me. Maybe at a later date I can work on them.

Being away from home does have challenges, I'm only going back home every other weekend right now. Not having my model equipment is a challenge also. But I can build a travel box pretty easily. Every time I reach for something a write it down to see if I can bring it with me or purchase a new. My son Dylan gave me this Milwaukee Packout for a travel kit and there is most always a hobby shop nearby. More on the 911 to come...

Since I’m working out of town I figured I would attempt another Porsche 911. Sunday 9/21/25, just cleaning up mold lines, which are mostly hidden under the rear wing and bumper and the front fenders. But, I got time…

Very nice, detailed, documented, smooth and cool. Well done.

Pictures reset…

Stepping out of the normal comfort zone with this one. I might be white trash but a do have a soft spot for the 911’s. Pretty happy with the finished model, fitment was very nice and the overall design is outstanding. I will try another one someday.. Air Foil added….

68-72 Suburban scratch build
James2 replied to 64SS350's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Sure is purdy! Coming together nicely, even with the remounting of the engine. -
Fit and finish is spot on. Is all the glass installed?

If you look at the Street Rodder pic, there are what appear to be threaded bolt holes at the ends of the frame to do that.

Well after not traveling for work in over 6 yrs. I have been asked to do so. Not really pleased about that but I am pleased to be able to work. Not here in Chicago....

Very nicely done. Would like to see the process for masking the black trim!

Instead of a perched support, I’m doing a variation of this elliptical front suspension and drop axle.

I’ve been wanting to build a Tom Daniel’s show rod but without the expensive purchase. Soooo, I’ll build my own show rod! Z’d frame (blocks will be shaped), chopped pickup bed and roof, crazy wheel/tire combo and a double blower Olds engine. Should be easy, right?

Quite interesting, I like it!
