There it is, a bit of time, patience and good reference photos go a long way. the only thing which doesn't resemble the real thing is the water pump, not even close. I enjoyed this, hope you guys do as well.
Nice day today so I hopped into the Mustang and drove 60 miles to visit the owner of the 1:1 and the shop it is being worked on. Didn't bargain on 25 of those miles being a construction site with 3 stops in 90 degree heat in a black vinyl interior convertible. Nevertheless it was an enjoyable ride. Body is ready to paint. Went to his home and checked the upholstery. Should be able to do that while I wait for the paint. He ordered a spray can for touch ups and will lend it to me for the model.
Anyone have an idea as to the actual size 1:1 of the swirls on a Bugatti engine?. I am going to attempt making my own decals. If that doesn't work I'll spring for one of Speedway Decal's sheets.
Bill, this is likely what happened. Now, can these seals be replaced or do I have to buy a new pump. Just for fun, I Googled seal kits and come up with replacement pumps. I'm going to look in the book to see if they have a procedure to purge the cylinders.
No I used a brand called Premier. It was the only grey light enough I could find locally. it worked well on the spoon and decided to spew grit on the model. I'll do more testing before using it again on the model.
