  1. I think they'll exchange it. Is that a Phantom Ford Econoline Van? That one is in my "to buy" list.
  2. I bought just one plexiglass case for just one truck and trailer and yes, they are expensive.
  3. It is real simple to do and cheap.
  4. My wife wanted to buy a China cabinet and I thought I could have a little corner for a few semi trucks, but nope, She says no models allowed.
  5. You display your models in open cabinets where they collect dust and more dust? For me, if it don't fit inside my dust free cabinet, then I don't build it. I figure, all the money, time and effort building these little models just to let it collect all that dust and possibly mess the paint job? I just put some weathering foam strip around the regular cabinet glass doors (not an expensive cabinet) and it keeps the dust out and the little models look always like new. I used to just clean them with a soft brush but got tired of it.
  6. I just use masking tape and press a little around the tape edge to avoid "bleeding". I wait at least one week before putting tape over the painted color to avoid pulling the paint off when removing the tape.
  7. Thanks Brian! I'll try to modify it to make a 27 feet trailer. Will have to do some cutting.
  8. Thanks A.J. I like your truck, nice color combination. So, all parts fit nicely without cutting? Thanks again! Angelo
  9. I know this is an old post but I would like to ask Dan (Mopar D) how you did this trailer. Did you cut it or it came this size? How long is it? I want to do one like this.
  10. As Art says: "to wrap a thin, flat strip of Evergreen styrene around the wheel". But I used instead black electrical tape.
  11. I had a truck build going flawlessly. Last I was to do was spray the clear coat. It was a black and white combination of colors on the truck. I used Testors High Gloss Clear Enamel. The white ended up yellowish because of the enamel. If I knew then what I know now!
  12. That was quick! Thanks Clayton. Just bought a trailer kit on ebay and it says it can be a 18 or 36 feet. Check it out. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lindberg-Box-Flat-Bed-Semi-Trailer-Kit-1-25-Scale-Bagged-Kit-NO-Box-Special-/321680565478?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4ae5a7e4e6 I want to build a short trailer with single axle.
  13. Are there semi trailers in 18 or 36 feet length in real life? I know of 30, 40 or 53 feet, but I can not find photos or reference to those other lengths.
  14. I say: Highway tread
  15. Other people are just the opposite. They post a question or whatever and many of us gladly answer their questions, we post pictures, links, etc for them and then the original poster just disappears without even a Thank You note.
  16. Sounds good. Thanks Roger!
  17. Can somebody recommend a brand or color name/number for this truck. I've started this project of a Freightliner COE but can't find a color to match the one in the photo. I have Testors Metallic Silver but it does look a little too flat/matte.
  18. Looks more aerodynamic than modern trailers,
  19. Thanks for your answers.
  20. Can this type of setup back to a dock or anywhere? Or is it only forward all the time?
  21. Why is it " gonna push your skills"? We've seen all your work so this one should be no problem for you.
