  1. most definitely will not do this again!
  2. Hey everyone, I started a 69 Nova, painted this model last week, and let it dry for a few days before I put the hood on the body. Today I went to take the hood off and some paint came with it for whatever reason I can not understand why. My question here is, is it too late to do a 2 tone paint job and paint the upper part of the body where the paint chipped ? l'm happy with the way the body came out and really don't want to completely strip the entire model and start over. I was thinking possibly saving the paint job on there and just doing a black upper. The existing paint is duplicolor with 3 coats of duplicolor clear.
  3. Thank you everyone!
  4. Tamiya makes this kit. I highly recommend it, it was a very fun kit to build.
  5. Thank you! The hood is a textured vinyl wrap I found on amazon so that was not painted on.
  6. Wow! This is so sweet. Great build
  7. Hey all, I was finally was able to put my new airbrush to use! This is my first time ever using it on a complete build. I used all Tamiya acrylics for this kit. Also, I managed to misplace the side view mirrors after cleaning out the work bench. Once I find them I'll glue them on but until then I'm going to call this one complete. Hope you all enjoy

Wow. What an amazing paint job. Great looking model, thats the quality I dream of building one day. You nailed it!
  9. Very cool build, love the creativity
  10. The color is 28122 Ultravoilet pearl.
  11. Love this build. Huge fan of your YouTube page. It was great watching this one come together!
  12. Yea the photo area was a huge let down, looking back it was pretty funny in an unbelievable way. The color is from Model Master, not sure exactly on the color but I should be home next week and will let you know the exact color. Thanks for the good words!
  13. thanks guys! Maybe white walls will go on the front in the future.
  14. Hey everyone, Here is my finished 1940 Revell Ford Pickup. This was a interesting build to say the least and really did not want to be put together at some points, including when my photo area decided to collapse and land on the truck breaking some parts off. It's been dropped, repainted and everything in between and put back together more times than I would like haha. But it's finally finished! I used Model Masters Laquer for the body, the rest was airbrushed with tamiya and testors acrylics (first time ever using an airbrush) interior, engine, flat black bed etc. The kit more or less box stock with some exceptions, I flocked the interior with purple carpet, did park plug wires, and got rid of the horrible molded exhaust the kit comes with and made my own for the first time out of aluminum tubing. I hope you all enjoy!! Steve

  16. Great, thanks guys! Been busy practicing with the airbrush and doing more research. Thank you all once again for all your help!
  17. Amazon has a spray booth for around $65 If you use a 40 percent off coupon at hobby lobby you can get the Paasche single action airbrush for just around $50, I just got it and love it. I have a harbor freight airbrush compressor that was $60 and is very very quiet.
  18. So today I was able to get my hands on some Tamiya thinner, some Tamiya gloss black paint and some pipettes (glass). I got my booth set up and started spraying for the very first time. I was shooting at around 25 psi with a 2:1 mix ratio and the flow felt pretty good. I tried it out on some old parts and was pretty happy with the results being it was my first time. I grabbed some small parts off a build I currently have going and was able to shoot some color on them. I found out fast a base coat is most definitely needed. When I went to clean the brush after using it I ran some of the thinner through the cup and sprayed wide open until only air was coming out. I then rinsed the cup after with soap and water using an old shirt to clean up any mess. I took the needle off and dabbed the shirt with the thinner and used that to clean the needle off as well as the spray tip. Is there anything else I should be cleaning or anything else I should be using? Thank you for all your help everyone!
  19. Amazing work. I Love watching your YouTube page!
  20. Yea I usually use duplicolor and have it figured out pretty well. Wasn't sure if there was special primer for the air brush, I'll just keep using the duplicolor. Works good for me. Thanks guys!
  21. Sweet, I will definitely be giving them a try. Have heard alotnof good things about them. Which primers do you recommend to use through your airbrush?
  22. Great, thanks! I will definitely be giving them a try once I get the chance. Just a compressor today, waiting for a bottle of Tamiya x20a and Tamiya flat black acrylic to come in the mail. I have some plastic pieces I'm going to practice with once I have everything.
  23. I'm pretty sure hobby lobby carries those. I have one fairly close to my house so I can try those out. Do you is the Tamiya x20a to thin them? Or lacquer thinner?
