  1. OH yes, I'd forgotten that one! The only song of his I could think of was "Hello in There," which was famously covered by Bette Midler. All these years I've been thinking "Ol 55" was him, too, and just found out it was Tom Waits!
  2. Very, VERY nice clean build of this old classic. Well done and model on!
  3. I have, in airplanes. They had kind of a "waxy" feel. In every case I can think of, the maker included a covering sheet with these decals, which was easily peeled off. I don't think the "waxy" feel ever "dries out" in such sheets.
  4. I didn't try, but I don't think so. Anytime I've tried to polish a silver paint in the past, I just get a dark gray mess. I suspect this would be the same thing. If you want to buff something, use Metalizer.
  5. That looks pretty darn nice! In fact, detail out the Rally Wheels and it'll be PERFECT! Model on!
  6. I think you're gonna like that Krylon Foil. I hope you have as good luck with it as I did.
  7. Very cool, and I appreciate it! But now I have a dilemma: Do I call this the Sixth Completion of Round 6, OR do I call it the First Completion of Round 7? I could use the latter, as so far we only have 3 definitely enrolled for the new round (you'd be #4). Traditionally, we need eight. Separate models count as separate completions, but one modeler is one modeler. If we get off the ground, feel free to finish as many as you want! You started that Camaro over a year ago? Wow. Seems like just last week I scanned those decals for you. BTW, I finally came up with a clean set of '65 Chevelle TIME MACHINE decals. Got 'em scanned. You still interested in making me some copies?
  8. No such thing. That's like asking for something that's both paint and a paint remover. The Micro Decal Film works exactly as advertised. It's a clear, thin, tough film designed to keep old decals from falling apart. I've found that decals so restored work fine with any of the common decal setting solutions. So you need two products, but they each do their particular job AND they can be used together (though not of course at the same time).
  9. "Suicide by cop" has been widely known and recognized in the law enforcement community for at least two or three decades now, maybe longer.
  10. I'm not running an ad blocker here because I want to support the board. But it's becoming ridiculous.
  11. Very cool, thanks! After seeing it, I'm wondering if it's really what I need. Especially at that price. Maybe I can scratchbuild something more like what I have in mind. But good lookin' out, anyway--I appreciate it!
  12. I've been looking for one of those trailers.
  13. HA! I wish. I gave up and went Amazon a couple weeks ago. Glad I did. As I was researching suppliers and prices, "Quantity in Stock" was dropping as I watched. By the time I decided on one supplier, he showed Out of Stock. No idea what the situation is like now. You'd think that soon everyone would decide they have enough.
  14. I've heard that suicides are up. I wonder how many of these car crashes are suicide by automobile?
  15. The same can be said for MANY shows of the day. I loved Man from UNCLE as a kid. As an adult, it's pretty stupid looking.
  16. That's pretty much all I had to do on my orange one. Yours look great, too! Ain't these things a hoot at the price?
  17. Now ads are appearing OVER TOP of thread titles on the forum pages! I think that just started today.
  18. I went back and looked at the thread. It looks like you lost the whole month of December due to an injury back in Round 5, so I'll give you a one-month extension to GITTER DONE. Your deadline is April 30. After that you'll have to declare on a new project. I don't want to be a hardass but the whole idea of this thread is to GIT STUFF DONE. We can't drag stuff out round after round after round. You can drag a project out to Nevertober on your own, you don't need the encouragement of this thread. Six months should be enough time to get just about any project finished if one wants to. (And yeah, this is coming from a guy who got his own last two projects finished on the last day, shame! ) So good luck, stay well, stay safe, and GITTER DONE!
  19. Not particularly, no. I don't have too many car magazines before about 1964 (fewer than a dozen) but I don't remember that ad or logo.
  20. Please don't try to politicize this thread. I just reviewed the whole thread. NOT ONE post herein makes light of "hundreds of thousand of people worldwide already lost to this pandemic and likely many thousands more to come." Not one. None makes light of or berates the brave professionals who are doing their best to keep us safe. The thread is poking fun at things like toilet-paper hoarding, hand-washing, and being stuck at home. Laughing at adversity and at ourselves is what makes us human. As Sergeant Hulka might say, "Lighten up, Francis."
  21. When you posted yesterday, just since I had about 20 minutes to kill before dinner, I tried google-imaging it, in various ways, based on your description. I looked at hundreds if not thousands of old hot rod decals, stickers, and logo, but didn't find anything that looked remotely like a "lug wrench mouth" or "wrench mouth." Now I know why.
  22. I like polishing, when it goes well. Especially enjoy polishing colored plastic to see just how much shine I can get on it.
