  1. Yah, I THOUGHT I'd seen it in 1/18 (and Badman too), but I don't recall ever seeing it in 1/25, either Revell or any other label.
  2. Oh my I like this!

    my models

    Beautiful work all around!
  4. You are exactly right! No, not great for large areas but perfect for things like window and wheel opening trim. I like your description of "effort to impact ratio is very high." It's not as good looking as perfectly done BMF (though I'd argue it looks better than badly done BMF), but it's cheaper, easier, and faster. I love the things. (Yes, things. You'll need to keep several on hand.)
  5. Reminds me of how a rifle became a shotgun in a few pages in, I think, Children of the Corn. I believe that was the very LAST King I ever read. I can't stand it when both a writer AND his editor(s) are morons.
  6. I wouldn't bother masking the glue points. The parts you mention can be attached easily right over/through the paint with superglue, epoxy, or even for that matter, Elmer's or Tacky Glue.
  7. Very cool, and I dig what you've done with it. Well done! Does the convertible come with the coupe top as a separate piece, or is the coupe a different model? I'd be interested in the coupe, but not the droptop.

    1969 GTX

Very nice! And it's still not too late to shoot the lower body in the the GTX signature matte black, which IMHO would REALLY sharpen it up!
  9. If you look closely, they're not true cylinders, they're actually very subtle cone segments.
  10. Someday I will have to invite both of you, and Uncle Scott too, to Snake's Super Silver Sharpie Seminar & Traveling Medicine Show. It will change your life.
  11. Very cool! I wish I'd bought one of those diecasts when they were available. It's the more attractive (IMHO) 2DS body style. I assume it has the same basis as the American Graffiti '55? (Did they ever do a diecast 2LB '55?_
  12. Outstanding! I've thought of doing the very same thing myself. Great to see that it works. Which '32 Ford kit did you take the top from?
  13. Very nice! I'm surprised this mating went so well. You made it work! Nicely done!
  14. That doesn't look bad at all! Drive on! (After it's thoroughly dry, of course.)
  15. Wow, you did a FABULOUS job with this! Well done and model on!
  16. Probably a couple dozen. But when I'm getting serious, probably two or three. Right now I'm about to finish one up, am about halfway through a second one, and as soon as one gets off the bench, I know exactly what will be taking its place.
  17. Y'all are using the NON-acetone stuff, right? It says so right on the label, right?
  18. I saw one in a movie once.
  19. I was gonna tell you to go look at anything I've ever posted, but realized that most of my pics were lost in the photobucketpocalype, and the ones I've posted since then have mostly been glue bomb/survivor restos (on which of course I don't do this), and polished plastic snappers, where I still scribe out the lines but seldom put anything in them after that (since the groove is body color and not white). I'll try tonight to find a good example to post for you.
  20. That's not horrible. In some areas--rear panel and wheel openings--it's actually much better than the Revell kit. Still, the ones I've seen in 3D have always struck me as clunky, or bloated looking, or something. But I'll now take another look at the next one I see. Thanks for posting it.
  21. First thing I do on a new car body is scribe out the door and trunk lines with the backside of a heavily-used Xacto. Then I run thin black paint into 'em, and then I proceed with all other bodywork, including block-sanding off all the residual molding ridges around all the panel lines. And then I proceed with normal priming, painting, and polishing. The panel lines get no more attention until it's time to wash the residual polish out of them with a toothbrush and warm running water.
  22. No no no no nope nuh-uh. Ain't going there. But if you were really curious, you might google "amazing leadership" and see what pops up on the very first page....
  23. I think I've seen these in kit form at Hobby Lobby, but I'm not 100% sure it's the same thing. Couple weeks ago I bought a late-model Boss 302 Mustang diecast "kit" I'm pretty sure is a Maisto. Looks like something fun to Snake-slap together as a slump-buster someday.
  24. Put me down for one. And I'd like a '66-'67 Buick even MORE.
