Yes, pretty much. If you want to build something, build it! Don't box yourself in with self-imposed rules. For example, in airplanes, I mainly build 1/48 scale, but I'm not above building in another scale--even some random or oddball scale--if that's the only way to get a model of an airplane I want. Build what you want to build! (Of course I guess this attitude is why my other hobby nickname is "Modelslut." )

I don't have access to Tamiya paints. I can get some Testor/Model Master colors, and have used a lot of FS 30219 (Vietnam-era Dark Tan) in the past on tan guts. I might start experimenting with craft acrylics, as it seems that just about any color you can imagine is available in those lines, and cheap, too. I need to play with both brushing and airbrushing them. Interiors would seem to be a good place to use such paints.

How's the Heller XKE Jag? Anyone built it? Better than the old Aurora/Monogram/Revell offering, I'd assume? Couple things in the catalog sorta interest me. It might be fun to hot-rod that Citroen that looks a little like a '34 Ford. I'd chop a section out of the 4-door body and make it a shorty 2-door. Bet it would look pretty cool.

They look a lot like my own '60s efforts, right down to the sewing thread plug wires. Very cool survivors!

I've given up on trying to "match" most tan interiors. I've got a couple cans of Krylon or Rustoleum "satin" tans I use for interiors. They look okay to me and I can't recall anyone ever saying, "Hey, your tan interior color ain't right."

Or maybe "MPC '69 Mustang Day." I think I have a diecast '65 Riviera that's marked on the underside as 1/26. And then I have a diecast '70 GSX that I measured at 1/26.5. (I forget if that one has the scale molded on the chassis.)

Au contraire, my friend, this might actually make an exciting wagering propostion: Will Ace actually finish a model this year? (Confession: Many years this would also be a good betting opportunity on me, but don't bet against me this year. I might actually finish two or three this year--real, built-from-the-box builds, not just more of my beloved Sliver Sharpie Lipstick on a Glue Bomb Pig "restorations." (Although there should be several of those, TOO, of course.))

Fans of those scales are free to post their own happy days. BTW, don't make the logical fallacy of assuming that because a person likes one particular thing, he automatically must "hate" all other things. Non seqitur.

I believe he did. Most of these cars weren't showpieces, they were working tools, and this model captures that very well. It's not shabby or grubby, but not a showpiece, either--just a decent, competent, working tool. Fabulously well done.

Interesting. For years I used the ones where you had to take the Mouse Balls out and clean out the dust every so often. When you had to clean out the dust every two days, it was time to replace them. Since then, I think I've "worn out" two laser mice. Only paid $10 for them new, so never thought about cleaning them. Wonder if that's the problem? I probably have them both somewhere, as I'm famous for never throwing anything away because "Hey, maybe I can use that for SOMETHING someday." (I'll bet I'm not the only one here.)
