  1. Very nice, very clean work! Congratulations on fulfilling a dream!
  2. Very cool! I too once built a model inspired by a car in CarToons or Hot Rod Cartoons. I think I kept the issue. I WISH I'd kept all of them I had.
  3. Oh absolutely. The mojo comes and goes. I just finished one Sunday (that I started around 1992) and that gave me the mental boost I needed to finish off two more yesterday. Now I gotta find something else I can kick through the goalposts while I'm on a roll.
  4. No no no no nope nope nuh-uh. NOT!
  5. Great feeling isn't it! I took off for weather yesterday and finished off TWO that have been parked on my workbench shooting me dirty looks for over a year now. NEXT!
  6. I think that was Capricorn One. Starring some guy named Orenthal Simpson.
  7. Exactly my reaction too. I heard "Radar Rider" in my head the instant I saw those pics!

    1967 GTX 440

    Definitely Day 2! Very cool!
  9. I got it from another member here. I think it might have been Madhorseman, who posted earlier in the thread.
  10. Where did you find a '65 Falcon hood? Does someone have it in resin? I need one. Have a restorable glue bomb funny car that's only missing the hood.
  11. Easy-Off is basically the same thing as Drano, a drain cleaner/unclogger. I've always assumed that Drano was safe to use in a drain, but hey, I guess I COULD be wrong.....
  12. Looking very good! You are inspiring me to dig mine out and do it!
  13. Me too. Dad was always a hoot.
  14. I remember it very well. I was a deputy sheriff at the time, working the county jail. I was home when the snow hit, luckily. The guys who were working at the time got stuck there. After a couple days the department was desperate. They were able to get a couple cars on the road and were able to come around and pick up a few of us who were able to hike out to a main road. When we got to work we pulled a couple 16 hour days until things got back to somewhat normal. I still have a letter of commendation for coming in and serving during the "crisis."
  15. Looks great! I hope mine looks that good when I get around to it!
  16. Very very nice, especially for a rebuild. Ya done good! Model on!
  17. Very nice, very clean build!
  18. It reminds me of '71-'72 War Bonnet Yellow.
  19. I only use it as a last resort. For enamels I use Easy Off oven cleaner, and for lacquers I use rubbing alcohol. I've only had one model that required the brake fluid.
  20. Something in a bright salmon/coral shade--a pinkish orange, or orangish pink?
  21. This video has been removed. Do you know the name of the band so I can try to find it again somewhere else?
  22. Very, VERY clean build. Nicely done. Model on!
  23. Extremely nice! I like it a lot!
  24. That's a fine, fine looking model, and I never would have guessed it's polished plastic--which is of course the real test. Get some Wright's Silver Cream and you can toss both the Tamiya Coarse AND the Novus #7.
