  1. Yea, big rigs are always on the bottom of the priority list!
  2. Come on Moebius! You are announcing new pickup cars, but no new big rigs or semi trailers. Aren't you due for some new tractor trailers?
  3. Yuk! More pickup cars. Need more new big rigs and semi trailers!

  6. The AMT Haulaway car transporter was actually a early 1960s design. Haulaway was a division of Fruehauf.
  7. The trailers were great also. The van and reefer trailers were the best. The extendable flatbed was a fine reproduction.

  9. If you really want to get technical, the Caterpillar 3406 engine in the Revell snap kits is a 3406B. The second generation of the 3406 which was prominent n the 1980s. The Italeri Ford LTL9000 would have a 3406C or a 3406E. The 3408 eight cylinder would have not passed late 1990s emissions requirements for highway trucks. Any of the rare Clint Freeman resin 3406E, Detroit Diesel Series 60 Mark 1 or Cummins N14 and L10 would be period correct for the Italeri Ford kits.
  10. The engine in the Italeri Ford LTL 9000 is actually a pre electronic control Cummins NTC 400. Although the Cummins NTC 400 was an option in the early LTL9000, the Italeri Ford LTL 9000 kit represents the latter, post 1993 Aero Force series of Ford heavy highway trucks and would have had the Cummins Big Cam IV series of Cummins engines (M11, N14, etc). Caterpillar diesels were popular options for the newer LTL9000 (3176, 3406, 3406E, etc). Even the Detroit Diesel 60 Mark 1 was an available option on newer Ford LTL9000 (the Italeri Peterbilt Detroit Diesel Series 60 engines represent the Mark 2). The transmission in the kit is an Eaton Fuller 13 speed and would have been an option on the Ford LTL9000.
  11. One flick of the X-acto knife and you jabbed yourself in the finger!
  12. Saw it on Model Builders Mafia Facebook page.
  13. Kit Form Services use to offer a photo etch sheet with the Caterpillar script and Caterpillar logo. Caterpillar found out and threaten the owner with legal action.
  14. Contact them through their email. Why would anyone buy anything on the net without contacting the seller? I bought some decals from an Australian model dealer years ago and they were great. The brand was Kangaroo Decals. They were for the Cummins Signature and Cummins 600 engine. Ask if they have other types

  16. I have been lobbying Moebius to come out with a modern flat trailer. Something like a Great Dane Freedom spread axle aluminum example. They already have the Hendrickson air suspension tooling. Moebius mentioned that they would like to get out a super singles wheel and tire kit. This would suit the flatbed trailer perfectly depending if the super singles kit was for a trailer or tractor. Italeri is due to reissue the Freightliner FLD120 later this year. If they stick to what their catalog included earlier this year.
  17. According to Moebius Models, all of the their ventures into big rig models were successful; Trucks and trailers. Which means they broke even and made money! As far as being discontinued, the way models and virtually any product for that matter are marketed, manufactures make a single run on several runs of an item. Once those batches are sold out, another run is not made until a large enough demand warrants them. It wouldn't make sense to invest tens of thousands of dollars in tooling for a model and not use them in the future to make more money in their investment. Moebius Models assured me they are committed to offering more big rig truck kits in the future. However, they said tooling costs have risen since their original truck and trailer kit projects were "backed - up" (their word) with projects from their other line of Sci Fi kits. They said truck kits "eat - up" (again, their word) significant amounts of money of their budget for new tooling of projects and they couldn't say exactly when the would be offering any new truck and trailer kits. So, all of those that said they were going to buy the truck and trailer kits before they announced them, great! Those that procrastinated or just discovered those kits, better luck next time!
  18. Looks like something Homer Simpson would wear.
  19. Great detail. I detailed the FLD 120 in a similar way.
  20. We are on the same page!
  21. LOL! Rubber Jackets.
