  1. The Lonestar attracted pick up and car builders to the big rig genre. It looked like an old IH pick up and it looked like a 1930s vehicle. Car builders seem to be stuck on pre-1970 vehicle design. Basically, if it doesn't fit in to their race car motif, as a backdrop or has a pseudo, hot rod facsimile, they really aren't interested in big trucks. And also, at least one model car builder stated on the forum that the amount of parts was too complicated. Yes, commercial vehicles are expensive and complicated compared to cars and pick ups And yes they are more expensive and time consuming to bring to market, but no more complicated than military subjects.
  2. Originally, the big rig and so called SUV and pickup sections were separate. The moderator, who is obviously bias toward so called SUV and pickups decided to merge the sections and told those that disagreed to like it.
  3. You've seen one pickup car, you've seen them all!
  4. The question of doing vintage big rigs was covered ad nauseam in past threads.
  5. Yea, big rigs are always on the bottom of the priority list!
  6. Come on Moebius! You are announcing new pickup cars, but no new big rigs or semi trailers. Aren't you due for some new tractor trailers?
  7. Yuk! More pickup cars. Need more new big rigs and semi trailers!

  10. The AMT Haulaway car transporter was actually a early 1960s design. Haulaway was a division of Fruehauf.
  11. The trailers were great also. The van and reefer trailers were the best. The extendable flatbed was a fine reproduction.

  13. If you really want to get technical, the Caterpillar 3406 engine in the Revell snap kits is a 3406B. The second generation of the 3406 which was prominent n the 1980s. The Italeri Ford LTL9000 would have a 3406C or a 3406E. The 3408 eight cylinder would have not passed late 1990s emissions requirements for highway trucks. Any of the rare Clint Freeman resin 3406E, Detroit Diesel Series 60 Mark 1 or Cummins N14 and L10 would be period correct for the Italeri Ford kits.
  14. The engine in the Italeri Ford LTL 9000 is actually a pre electronic control Cummins NTC 400. Although the Cummins NTC 400 was an option in the early LTL9000, the Italeri Ford LTL 9000 kit represents the latter, post 1993 Aero Force series of Ford heavy highway trucks and would have had the Cummins Big Cam IV series of Cummins engines (M11, N14, etc). Caterpillar diesels were popular options for the newer LTL9000 (3176, 3406, 3406E, etc). Even the Detroit Diesel 60 Mark 1 was an available option on newer Ford LTL9000 (the Italeri Peterbilt Detroit Diesel Series 60 engines represent the Mark 2). The transmission in the kit is an Eaton Fuller 13 speed and would have been an option on the Ford LTL9000.
  15. One flick of the X-acto knife and you jabbed yourself in the finger!
  16. Saw it on Model Builders Mafia Facebook page.
  17. Kit Form Services use to offer a photo etch sheet with the Caterpillar script and Caterpillar logo. Caterpillar found out and threaten the owner with legal action.
  18. Contact them through their email. Why would anyone buy anything on the net without contacting the seller? I bought some decals from an Australian model dealer years ago and they were great. The brand was Kangaroo Decals. They were for the Cummins Signature and Cummins 600 engine. Ask if they have other types
