  1. Ha ha funny guy, you almost slipped that one right past me Sorry, those two Italian beauties are stowed away.....and I will put "fraaagillleee" on their boxes b/c they are Italian and were a major award. (That is a Christmas Story reference for those of the 'slow on the uptake' variety) As for all you anti-chromics, there is no help for you! And it's my party and I'll chrome if I want to I think I better go to bed now, I am deliriously hilarious.
  2. Agreed on both cases!
  3. Funny, I was just thinking how tiny the engine looked after watching that Bentley Spitfire video of Jay Leno's I love the car, but am getting a little sick of the build, looking forward to move onto something different BUT tomorrow we meet a team to discuss knocking our house down....there may be NO modelling soon :0
  4. Ok after all my horsing around Skip, what am I missing on her?? I have been looking at this since November and am sure I need to add something else I can't see for example how about steering linkage
  5. This was one of my first research cars...note the running board and a shiny P51 in the background ! ooh this one does too it is not my fault, that weird lip moulded on the rear fender was taunting me to chrome it, I was weak.... That is it Skip, no ride for you when I get finished
  6. Oh seriously!! Those were SCREAMING for chrome...at least that is what I heard!!
  7. Ha I know, I got a little carried away with the BMF.....first time user, what could go wrong, I can stop anytime I want. Lucky the whole darn thing ain't chromed out like a P51!
  8. You realize Barbie is going to ask for 50% of your assets and full ownership of this boat
  9. I have clear coated the body....have to rub it out now Dash is the next project. Lots of little stuff to fit and wire and fabricate and on and on and on
  10. This pic kills me. He has gotta be saying the classic "hold my beer and watch this" or "whoever hangs on the longest wins" This thread has really taken off....haha see what I did there Thanks for all your contributions, lots of wackos have pried a huge airplane engine into a car
  11. I got it for less than half that, didn't realize they were clearing it out at Hiro Boy Was ordering hose clamps and such and saw it on sale Wouldn't pay $300 for it either
  12. Haha, E Bay Looks like I got the last one today at Hiro Boy on sale Sorry
  13. What airplane was a Ranger v12 from????
  14. Never saw that Scooby Doo, thought I had seen them all If I had the means, I would have one of these Bugatti replicas in a heartbeat
  15. I stumbled over this today, news to me but you may have seen it before I blame Skip, he sent me the video http://www.google.co...190.NXYhXl1nEL0 So I had to buy it http://www.hiroboy.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=80_43&products_id=6134 and not to be outdone for the Bentley fans...Jay Leno
  16. Sorry to hear you had a rough time with the kit That is really the way with most manufactures, just a starting point for your imagination and skill...often stuff just doesn't fit and you need to customize parts Some suggestions: During the build, do some in work photos and post them so others can offer help and suggestions...I have got a ton of help and resources for my MG that way Try heating the cowlings in hot water and bend to unwarp them? Duplicate them in flat stock styrene sheets and make the cowling? How about try a little brass and make a new panel? You have nothing to lose but time. You have really made a fantastic truck here, hate to think it puts you off modelling
  17. Aha, you are reading my mind.....garage shop and a separate hobby room, rest of the house is hers
  18. Absolutely, looks like a frumpy tired old man lying in the back of the Rolls Yours is sleek and stylish couch
  19. Pardon me for saying, but I think yours looks way BETTER than the research photo You have clean pleats, hidden seams and perfect finish My god man, it is beautiful, I absolutely love it!!!!
  20. Rear carpet/seat back, leather covered bench, sprue removed and BMF touched up. Body is still dry fitted
  21. Absolutely agree with you......it is a sweet custom ride, loved it right away Funny to hear it made a bit of an uproar. I don't really care what a "Ferrari purist" thinks about it. That pedigree and snooty stuff makes me sick That car was destined for parting out otherwise
  22. I totally agree. Twin turbo straight 6 BMW is just fine for me now He is a bit dodgy in his dealings so I am happy to just stay neighbours Maybe some far off collector will be after it, but with new NSX bodies coming out this year I would be surprised if he hits the home run he thinks he will Sad to see a car sit and rot though
  23. I drove my neighbour's early NSX that he keeps locked in his garage and wanted out for a work out. I was in town and pretty careful with it, pretty sure no insurance on it too. It drove perfect to my recollection in the street good power and turning. The country road would have been waaaaaay more fun! We had made some overtures to me purchasing it, I got all excited and then he revealed he was holding on to it as a collector vehicle and won't ever sell Soooo I kind of soured on the car a bit in general, but of course bought the model in the meantime
