  1. 1/18 should be close it all depends I have seen some 1/24 that was close you never know from maker to maker.
  2. I am looking for a source of 1/16th racing harness hardware. I am feeling lazy and don't want to scratch it if possible. I have looked around but I have not found it in that size yet. Thanks for any information. Dwayne
  3. I just finished Batmans daytime drive. I modified the rear wing to match the earlets on Batmans mask Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki link to build picts http://public.fotki.com/djway3474/completed-cars-in-scale/hot-rods-and-customs/batmans-f50/

  5. Many of these cars were started long ago and painted a few years ago and have been sitting in drawers wating to be finished. Well in the past two months I have finished most of the cars that were already painted. 6. dj, i don't recommend using any r.c. stuff unless you don't mind things not being accurate. i have searched up and down and none of it is accurate for 15 or 16" wheels. i found 1 tire that has the proper rim size but the o.d. is to small for even a 22" tall front runner. rear tires are non- existent. i don't know if micro nitro on the board here does 1/8 wheels or not but, with out tires the wheels mean nothing. hence, i make my own wheels and tires. i do make them true to scale. i use the manufacturers specs.(when i can get them or i just measure the wheel myself) to produce as close to correct as i can. i do not sell wheels and tires though. so please,....don't ask.
  7. I am loving this build! It makes me want to do a large scale but with my mere mortal skills it would not be anywhere near this detailed. Question - Is there any source out there for tires/wheels in this scale available? Metal or resin? That is the one thing you cant really aproximate without good machines. Thanks DJ
  8. Great Job!
  9. Hosted on Fotki This one was on the cover of Model Cars Magazine along with my Jungle Jim Camaro
  10. Hosted on Fotki The only one of that era I have
  11. Thanks for the kind words. This is one of my favorite builds ever. A lot of fabricated stuff on this one. I was so excited when mounting the body the exhaust pipes popped right out of the intended body holes. What a relief that was LOL.
  12. I think I have built a couple of em Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki
  13. Hosted on Fotki I have the left one in the pict but I am missing the right one. I won this kit in a raffle. It was open and apparently missing this one part. It is the 1/12 scale 1957 chevy here is the body just finished with paint. Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki It is going to be a gasser. I scratch built an entire new front suspension. If any one has a spare tail chrome piece please let me know Thanks guys!
  14. You need to check out the new LeMans Audi and Pegout they are just beautiful
  15. I have fixed windshields with major glue marks and tire melt marks. Sanding stick to cut to the bottom of the melt/scratch. Not a real course grade. Then go through the polishing kit down to the 12000 grade so it looks real clear. Then dip the glass and then touch the bottom edge to a paper towel to remove the buildup. One tip is to do all this with the glass resting on your pant leg. This distributes the load and helps to avoid cracking the glass. I will often do a second dip to really get a nice smooth surface. Maybe around ten minutes after the first. Hope this helps. Dwayne
  16. Thanks Greg that is some great information. It occured to me that Revell could have a huge hit if they packaged the original tires and wheels as a parts pack. How many of us here have bought the Lil Coffin, Predicta or long ago the Blue Beetle and others cars just to raid them for the tires and wheels? Probably the most sought after combo ever if my friends are any indication.
  17. Thanks for the pict. I have never seen that grill anywhere else so I will scratch that out unless anyone knows of a resin copy out there. Comparing the block I discovered a very bizzare thing. Same block but the details are on the opposite half. Where yours has the starter on the right and filter on the left mine is just the opposite. Weird. Mine also has a fuel pump. The later release valve covers have dual breathers where your pict shows one. I will look for others but its very close. I think finding a Lil Coffin I can get the carbs, manifold and tires wheels. That just leaves the grill and I am there. Thanks for your help DJ
  18. I want to recreate the original box art. I have the later Monogram release in yellow plastic as a starting point. I can see that I need white walls and different wheels. Is there an easy kit to find these tires in or do I need to find aftermarket. The wheels look easy to get close too. Now the motor. What kit do I need to find for the motor? The issue I have does not look anything like the origional release. Lets have fun with this one and rack the old brains. Thanks guys. Dwayne
  19. Thanks for the link to the pictures. I have been searching off and on for years for GT40 picts and have never found any as good as some you have. Thanks again DJ
  20. I am so glad I did not start mine when I first purchased it. I am carefully watching your build to learn what to watch for. Luckily I purchased the KA set from somewhere in the orient so I only paid half of what some places get for that thing and won't mind as much not using much of it. Love the detail on the trans. Do you mind sharing detail photos you go by? Keep up the great work. Thanks DJ
  21. This one really made me smile How did you make your extractor exhaust?
  22. Thank you for sharing all the progress pictures. I have always wondered what went into a build like this and you are providing a great deal of information that can be applied to other projects. Keep up the great work. DJ
  23. I like Plastikote for paints and primer better than Dupli. I really like the nozzels. They give you a great fan pattern on the sprays. Primers set up beautiful and are ready to go in less than 30 minutes.
