-I don't even think a laser could cut that fine unless its a jeweler's type laser, and even that that might be pushing it! -Thats awful small, and on a fine very thin surface, not sure it be strong enough to be used as a paint template.....

Thanks guys!!!! You can see the build on it as well.... This car model has a bit of meaning to me in it. I went through a bad accident back in '15, and this model happens to be thee first I worked one built & opened after that accident on my hands and what was the therapy for my dexterity..... So, having said that, and whats its done and how it looks? Yeah, I'm pretty proud! Thanks tho guys! Much appreciated!

Best advise? is contact ALL the companies. Revell, as well as Round 2, and then contact the detail companies you mentioned like Detail Masters, and so on and so forth. you may even wanna contact Testors for paint and their supplies too..... Good luck!

Cut it on the line where the parts go together maybe? (I think if you had waited it might have made the part not fit right) due to the thickness of the vinyl tape.....? Looks good otherwise tho! -
I look forward in seeing it done man! That looks GREAT!
-
NICE job man! That paint job is GREAT and the interior looks AWESOME too!
-
OK, but where or who makes them?

Thanks for letting me know where those valve covers came from! Those are something to have as a Mopar guy (they're the aftermarket Big Block covers used a lot today on the newly rebuilt old muscle cars!) And have been trying to find out who made them..... -Thanks man! -
-NOW ya gotta tell me where those come from!

Not just that, (I too take forever on mine as well!) BUT "starting another one"..... LOL

I might try my hand on the lathe to make some of those from Aluminum! Those look GREAT! Just making the belts might be an issue, but, I know I can make those pulleys! Those you bought are SWEET! -
I'm not one for the "Barn Find" look........ BUT, that weathering job is PERFECT! NICE job!

Not sure if ya can... Dave with my pics and the "brightness" the camera flash creates, try taking a pic of the body, with your bench lighting, and NO camera flash..... I've found the flash makes the shot WAY to bright in some cases and makes the paint look different, then it truly is! Thats why in my '68 Roadrunner build, you'll see pics with and without the camera flash as that flash seems to create other then it is looking at it in "normal" lighting.....

Thanks JC! I've taken mine out and got a "feel" for what I'll have to do as I mentioned on mine, I'm going to "shift" the tread-ways back, to the rear, make the fenders larger (Keeping the stock fenders "whole" but removing them for another trailer), and then making my own custom fitted fenders as I plan to add a 2nd axle to lengthen it, but keep the outward treads "stock" kit length. Which in the real world 1:1 trailers, would up my hauling capacity, and with that, I also plan to use slight bigger tires and a little "fatter" too..... -Just for the added "beef" to make the trailer look more heavy. I also plan to make a full frame too, completely scratchbuilt! And have real looking leaf springs with some sort of shocks too!!
-
NICE! I love all this pick-up trailer talk! I have another trailer (found when I dug out those I have) thats from the Fireball 500 kit, MAN is that trailer LACKING badly! dual axle, no fenders, and VERY LIGHT framed. thats all gonna change I can tell ya! I'll be merely only using the tread-ways when all said and done with that trailer LOL as there really isn't much to it that I like beside the tread-ways it has! -I'll also be replacing those tires they put with it! plastic, glue together, NO TREAD tires? Whats was AMT thinkin' when thew threw that in that Custom '66 Cuda kit!? I'll be posting those when I start workin' on 'em!
-
JC, After seeing your work on this trailer it made me wanna dig mine out and have a look to get a "feel" of just what that model is all about. and I have to say, I LIKE it, BUT, I can see where I'm gonna have a bit of trouble, not in the model itself, (its really good) BUT in the way I plan to use mine! (larger car) so my trailer looks quite small for a car that I plan to load mine with, (Mopar B Body) so.... I'm going to enlarge the fenders, on the "outer frame".... and then that will lengthen the out side appearance, to keep the "tread" part of the "inner frame" the same stock length, as the car I plan to use will fit on the treat-ways, fine, but over hang in the front quite a bit (in stock form) I could not add a tool box, or a tongue shelf to carry much of anything as-is, so, making the fenders larger, and possibly adding a SECOND axle within the new fenders I think will give mine a little better balancing look, if you will. I believe the second axle would be best, after the location of the factory single axle to keep the back of the trailer box stock distance from one axle to the back of the trailer. (If that makes sense) as then that will move the front of the car away from the tongue a bit but keep the even looks over the axles! Because the car(s) I'll be loading onto the trailer are bigger I think the second axle is a must, as that will help "add" to the length as well as give me more length (space) up front....
