Thanks EVERYONE!!!!! I'll be getting a few more "done" in the coming weeks, as I have a couple that are just as close done as this one was! So. more of my stuff is coming..... I'm working on Rosco's Police car now.... it was #2 in my Round Robin style of building there for a bit, and I plan to continue on..... As the more of these types projects are done, the more I can move on to other stuff!!!!! (I got my share of those just "waiting")..... Compliments like these is what makes all that work, worth it in the end! Thanks guys! -MUCH appreciated!

Here is a Duster I did a few years back. I'm on a Mopar Kick again.

Good GAWD!!!!!! NICE Duster!!!!!!!!! What shade of Yellow is that!? GORGEOUS!!!!!! -
Snake, If you look here: Scroll down the page a little over half way down the page you can see what the issue was with the taillights..... Has nothing to do with the blacked out part, its got more to do with the chrome trim around the outer edge of the tail light from what you seen on Google when you looked for them.... The models parts did not have that trim ring in chrome!

I'm pleased beyond imagine on its completed "look".... Thanks EVERYONE tho, there were a few of you, out there in Model building land at the time I started this cheering me on to keep it up. this is the outcome of that model building support! Thank you all!

That 440 looks GREAT! The lettering in the valve covers, that a decal on both of them????? Heat shrink tubing goes a long ways for a collector for headers, but in my case, I use it a lot of the time to make a "Y" pipe for single exhaust on the cars that I have seen family member have real ones of, so, heat shrink tubing works well for the "Y" as well as the way you used it here, NICE job! That engine alone is SEXY!!!!! -Very nice! -
Thanks Brian! Much appreciated!!!! -Now I have to sit and do the same concentration on my Rosco cop car build, as it too is REAL close done!

Jim, That I am, very proud! I thank you for the kind words! Much appreciated! I take it you read the first posting of the actual WIP build of the car? It says a lot on what I had gone through and what I was fighting with the accident.... This single model is ALL I worked on, as I didn't want the quality of my work to show "different" within one model, that was started when both my hands were then whole, and so, I pulled a model to start with whatever I could do, as I was then, I THINK that was October of 2015 I started this model! Accident happened July 3rd 2015! But that too, this one model gave me FREE Dexterity therapy!!!!! So with all that I am very proud on the outcome! Pleased beyond words!

Clear over decals - whats the trick?
426-Hemi replied to Jantrix's topic in Tips, Tricks, and Tutorials
I have yet to have a decal wrinkle with lacquer clear coat, I think it has a LOT to do with the amount of time applying the decal, let those suckers have the decal set till they lay.. I MEAN literally, keep soaking them till you are SURE they're there to stay! ANY AIR under then has to go! That milky look IS air............. Once you have that gone hit them one more time with the decal set to be SURE its gone as that air, is what causes the wrinkle under the decal and clear coat..... Then, allow to AIR DRY 24 hours once you know the decal is on there air bubble free, and over-coat with lacquer clear and your good to go...... adding decals to DULL or flat surfaces, is difficult, use a gloss paint where applicable for decal adhesion.... OR gloss coat the paint in the area the decal will go.... That will help A LOT! -

The 440 you used, which one is that? The one that comes with the Dart from Revell? And then the 440 in the AMT Charger is the other one you tried 'em on? If ya don't mind explain, I know the cars and kits pretty well, BUT that doesn't say which ones were tried on what 440 from what kit..... -I hope that makes sense! -
Thanks Jim! You know, its not often paint gets the better of me, BUT that dang hood..... There for awhile I was thinkin' it was gonna! Thats how hard it fought! BUT, ya just keep wet sanding (as long as ya don't burn through the paint) and only sand the clear coat, you can win, this is a perfect example of that!!!! Much appreciated tho! Thank you!
-
Thanks TJ!!!! The "Devils Heart" plate decals came with the kit actually! -Much appreciated man, thank you!
-
Thanks Curt! Much appreciated!!!! Yeah this model was quite the accomplishment!
-
I'm not the builder or OP but I think that may be Go Mango Orange.....
-
Well thank You Misha! Thats very much appreciate man! Thank you! You know, as you read the building of this model you got to see a model built, started with merely one thumb, and one finger (pointer finger) both on my right hand..... Left hand? non-existent for a while! I used a make-shift clamp on vice to the left of me! Amazing what just a mere model can help us achieve!
