DANG. SHUSH you guys! I'm in NEW ENGLAND and the word s-n-o-w gets said to loud, I wind up with 6 fricken feet over night it seems, or it starts falling and doesn't stop till JUNE the following year! LOL wasn't till December 27th last year it started (would have been nice if that started on say the 23rd, I wouldn't complain so much) but it started and it seemed it just wanna give it up and it be pushing what seemed like 50 dang degrees LOL For awhile last year the whole state was a maze! LOL NAHHHH I can't complain, not at all. I'd much rather have the cold weather then the blistering triple digit heat in the summer.... -Honestly, I'd LOVE to see some snow on the ground for Christmas, (its been at least 8 -10 years since there has been snow on the ground in New Hampshire on Christmas Eve, or Christmas Day!)

Sadly, I'm not sure the engine in this one comes even close to an LA small block. the oil filter impression is missing, and the valve covers, NOT to sure what they truely look like from the kit, but they don't look like no LA valve cover I've ever seen (I know the 355 were different) but how much different? Weren't they just an over bored 318 or 340? I don't think they had enough lower end "roll" to be stroked to heavily. ANYWAY, I'm on this on to see if its something I'd want for parts, I'd LOVE to get a good pic of the hood and grille! Now to state the obvious, to me, the best Mopar small block model yet, has to go to the AMT '71 Plymouth Duster 340.... That car (I own 2 of those models) has an awesomely detailed "340" in it, BUT as a model would suffice to be anything from a 318 to a 360. that were the "LA" class motors from Mopar. AND if done right, you can add a 2 barrel intake, a 4 barrel intake or a 6 pack intake! -Unless I can see better detail revealing pics, I'd buy one of these kits for mere parts.... Not sure I'd go to build it....

looking for mechanical fuel pumps
426-Hemi replied to LVZ2881's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
I myself would make the part...... its easier and for what ya have to buy in materials (make hundreds of mechanical fuel pumps) instead of paying the cost of a cast part.... I make mine outta styrene! My tutorial, have a look: -
Me, being well...........me, I'm gonna say #3, Muscle Madness...... (I can even join in for the build off!)

Easy one really. was the plastic blue BEFORE it was painted? IF my memory serves me right, the Monogram CJ-7's were all cast plastic in blue. -If so, I had this kit MANY a year ago, pushing 20 years now...... -

Sorry for the loss there fella modeler! Its hard.... life goes on (I'm still not over the loss of my Dad and that happened over a year almost 2 years at this point! So the feeling of loss is difficult, BUT the modeling bench............ A way to cope my friend, time is the best medicine for such, BUT the modeling will be the best therapy..... Clears your mind. AND (for me at least) I've found that, if I build something, that reminds me of my Dad (in your case, it be of your wife) helps quite a bit, it brings out those good times and even the bad times that you can sit an laugh about now! So.... Good to hear your back at the bench! It really will clear your mind and open up and all.... But Time my friend will be what truly heals you from the loss!! God Bless....

(I'ma Dodge kinda guy and I like what you've done to this Chevy "truck" to become a BLAZER! And its a "1500" size truck too, not some Blazer II thing either, as they were S-10 size (not a bad rig mind you), just not my cup of tea. this here is more like it! Off the top of my head the '70 Dodge Coronet Super Bee "Pro-Street" comes with the 426 DOHC Hemi, thats a heck-of-a "Crate Motor".... THEN as said, ANYTHING I'd say from NASCAR from 1964 to present date, could be taken as a "Crate Motor", Those old ones, specially Mopar, you could only get the 426 Hemi for NASCAR if you were a RACE TEAM back in the day -'till '66, as it different from the 426 Hemi Street version which came out to the general public in '66, it was quite a bit different from one to the other. The new stuff in NASCAR are strictly RACE ONLY, making them "Crate Motors". Then you have top fuel, you have ANYTHING Drag racing, or 1/4 mile races, (even 1/8th mile) being Crate Motors. As they're ALL made for racing, nothing but! A look into it as far as models are concerned, you can take ANYTHING we have for engines, and make them "Crate motors, as they're seen from the outward appearance only! SO, who would know if you took that '70 Ford 302 Boss and made it a say, 351 to resemble a crate motor? Only way? IF you told someone you did! This is where "Modelers License" come into play for us as modelers!

Help a little girl have a better Christmas
426-Hemi replied to Psychographic's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
-Will be sending a card too! Thats some story, that poor little girl..... God Bless her! Sadly guys, I think at times for all of us, we take things for granted. Not knowing or realizing that there are others much less fortunate as we......Even in some of our own bad times, there is always someone, somewhere much worse off..... As a father, I'da done just what hers did! And sadly, I've been put through my paces with things lately, BUT that too, I don't feel sorry for myself, BUT to see this, makes me think of my own little girl. Shes 10, BUT, not once had to face what this little girl wanting Christmas cards did and will continue to face has..... -I'll be showing this to my Wife as well...... -
Well I'll add mine into this fun! My old shop was well the same one it is now, BUT its being "re-sat" as far as bench work goes. The next couple pics are when it had all the old bench work! So here is "Tuffy"..... My little partner in crime / Shop Dog: He's fully grown, and is enjoying a shop "Chew Stick". Playing on the floor in front of where the Unimat is now...... Last year BEFORE the bench work was changed just before Christmas, (he's wearing his Christmas shirt to keep him warm) The shop is in the attic and no heat BUT it doesn't go below 60 degrees even in the coldest weather, its insulated good!) BUT hes just a little dog so....... Plus the shirt almost is a Christmas shirt...... The 2 Dodge Trucks ARE both the trucks in my "Father & Son" Dodge Truck Build! This was taken right after the bench work was re-done and this little Dog Bed was made UNDER the computer bench! Close enough to "watch" me, but far enough away that he doesn't get hurt. (He & my Wife had an accident a while back where he got thinner in his eye.. YEP off to the Vet he went that night! Right after I flushed his eye out with eye wash! (Can't be to safe!) The Vet told me that was thee single best thing I could have done for him at that time, not 1 minute after it happened!! -So now he loves the shop (still) but giving him a "bed" he lays there and watches, instead of being right next/near me or my wife.... (The wife has a craft area in the shop!) Sleeping peacefully........ 'Till I make some sort of noise, that gets his attention that is!

Well since my last installment, I got a ways on the engine compartment completion! I as you all have seen re-worked the battery, to look like one my Dad used in his truck! It became as seen from the box stock part, to the one/type my Dad had. He used a Interstate battery, SO I had to make the one going in HIS truck (model) represent that. NOT just paint the stock kit part the colors, BUT change the look, as you all know that I did, WELL now its painted, with a battery "shelf" mount, and in place! -Mo wires to it yet! The battery is in place, as well as some other details! I added the radiator over-flow tank, with hose leading from the radiator to the tank. (The tank I made from solid styrene!) As you can see, I have a bit of detailing yet to do! I have to finish adding the A/C hoses to the condenser radiator (out in front of the BIG engine radiator) and then get the rest of the battery cables in place. These are coming! More to come, stay tuned!
