  1. Hobbico's less than intelligent business practices were the causes for Revell's recent difficulties, not because Walmart stopped selling models. It hasn't been an issue for Round2 or any other kit manufacturer. Didn't make any difference to me if they did or didn't sell models. I never shop in a place that sells car tires, swimming pool chemicals and groceries from the same location anyway.
  2. Steve, I attempted to PM you but keep getting a "404" error.
  3. There are quirks in modern day models. This is a nice kit, considering its age. It builds into a pretty decent representation of the car.
  4. Buyer's remorse. I see a whole lot of them Custom Catilack Cornvertables, Corynets an' Impalers on the block for low prices also. Very few F100's which means there were more satisfied owners of that particular kit.
  5. You're both correct. It isn't the Dart. The Dart is molded in Gold Metalflake*. I didn't feel like taking pics at dark o'clock in the morning. Besides, those Dodge and Plymouth models all look the same. *Trademark of the Dow Chemical Company
  6. That's a beaut, Dennis! Who produces(d) the kit?
  7. Considering that the first Eldorado wasn't produced until the '53 MY, that'd be a tough order to fill. Hmmmmm........same could be said about debating about and critiquing kits that are eligible for AARP membership. Let's be honest, Kit News and Reviews is a veritable elephant graveyard of discussion about models that have died and have been resurrected than Universal Monsters in film. As far as Foose, his designs have that effect on people. You either love them or hate them, with no middle ground. Neither side is short of comments stating their positions.
  8. Received these in the mail yesterday afternoon: Jo-Han CS-5056 Rambler Classic Taxi Revell H-1261:198 Metalflake Custometal Show Car Series 1962 Plymouth Fury Revell H-1261:198 Metalflake Custometal Show Car Series 1962 Plymouth Fury R&R Resin 1963 Plymouth Fury Wagon Thanks Chris!
  9. See this? This is the most sophisticated and widespread surveillance and security system known to man. They are known as MOMS. MOMS would sit in the windows and watch EVERYTHING that went on on the neighborhood. You thought you got away with breaking a window six blocks away while playing stickball with your friends. Boy, were you ever wrong. Your MOM already knew about it before you stepped foot through the door. MOMS were the sheriffs who maintained order and peace on the block. Every MOM was your MOM by mutual agreement that all MOMS were party to. So, if you got out of line, any MOM could box your ears and you'd get more of the same when you finally made it home just because you got the business from some other MOM.
  10. Another link to our youth is gone........
  11. Unlike the good old days, you can't violate their civil rights. You'll get arrested, get a trip to the Graybar Hotel and the skell sues you as icing on the cake.
  12. Fireball Modelworks would be a logical AM producer for this.
  13. Them exploding fuel tanks are difficult to replicate in small scale.
  14. I see a Baldwin-Motion Phase III '68 Chevelle SS427 project on my workbench.......
  15. Here, Page 3, fourteenth post down:
  16. There was none in my comment. I was stating my personal preference. Personal preferences, and opinions are always correct and aren't stated as talking points for a debate on the merits of what these kits are. If I, or anyone else for that matter, cares to opine one way or another about a particular kit, no big deal in the larger scheme of things. These comments won't sway anyone else's decision whether or not to buy a kit.
  17. Yeah, I know what you meano, Deano.
  18. I build bone stock; so, these designer kustom kar kits don't do anything for me. I would love to see a straight stock '53 Eldorado in plastic and perhaps a new-tooled '57 Eldorado Brougham.
  19. It'd be nice to see more engine compartment and data plate decals. Also, designing the kits to be more accurate in terms of replicating the construction of the actual vehicles would be a plus. I don't care about large parts counts. I'm used to that building armor. Say what you want about Trumpeter's '60 Bonnrvilles; but, their chassis are spot on replicas of the real thing.
  20. It gets long in the tooth fast. I'm not going to beg someone to let us be privy to these closely held state secrets. If you're going to play that game, don't bother with the vague comments in the first place.
  21. Well, at least you'll be EMP-proof wearing that dicer.
  22. Leave that to the the guy hanging out near the betting window at the track.
  23. Goofy guy and chick hats have a long tradition at the track. They're prevalent at Aqueduct and Belmont Park on Opening Day. Also, at the annual Easter Hat Parade in NYC.
  24. So, elaborate. The "I know the real story but won't go into details" stuff is getting old. That's Mike Francesa's (The "Sports Pope") schtick. 99% of the time, he doesn't.
  25. It only takes a phone call to get the skinny. I spoke with Auto World customer service just now and the gentleman informed me that they were perfoeming an update and took it down until the kinks are straightened out. No conspiracy theories involved.
