  1. Hmmm......while searching for a pic, I ran across this: https://www.revell.com/index.php Revell USA is back, with no redirect to RoG. No updates; but, it is back.
  2. Mine was a regular Revell box like this:
  3. Nah, it was the Revell Z/28 with the RS front trim. Whoa, while looking for box pic to post, I ran across this: https://www.revell.com/model-kits/cars/index.html The Revell USA site is up and running again! No Revell.de redirect either.
  4. Wasn't this kit released around 2000 and the Metalworks version sometime around 2011? The original issue BM Camaro and the AAR Cuda are both 1991ish vintage. I also had a '69 Camaro RS/SS kit from around the same period which was molded in orange styrene. I bought all of these kits at The Hobby Shop in Richmond Hills, Queens within a few months of each other. I also had a Revell '67 Chevelle (not the "Pro-Street" version which was the same green as the BM Camaro and AAR Cuda)) which was molded in a dark metallic blue styrene. I wish I still had them.....
  5. Sad to say, no. The idiot who lived upstairs from me decided he was going to fix the plumbing in his kitchen by himself. The unchecked water, and the collapsed ceilings in my apartment, ended up destroying just about everything model-wise.
  6. There is a correlation between the disappearance of full bench front seats and declining birth rates over the last 35 years.
  7. The extremely limited trunk space in new cars has put a crimp in wiseguys' ability to dispose of unproductive associates. Why, in the good old days, you could stuff 3 DGIS (Dead Guys In Suits) into the trunk of a Chevy Impala, Pontiac Bonneville or any Caddy with enough room left over for a full sized spare, picks and shovels and ten bags of groceries.
  8. Even fewer know what the different tools are. This Liberty Mutual commercial nails that down perfectly:
  9. It was 85-7426. I bought it in '91 or'92. I thought it was an odd color. I bought another BM Camaro (same stock number) a couple years later and it was molded in red. The roof was gekakt; so, I called up Revellogram for a replacement. Guess what RM sent me..........a green body to go with all of the red parts and a free set of Yenko Camaro decals. Go figure.
  10. That's why I use Magic-Sculpt. It's impervious to all stripping chemicals/solvents and, being a two-part epoxy, doesn't shrink or crack. Reshaped RoG Ferrari 250 GTO rear end using this stuff.
  11. I had a Revell Baldwin Motion '69 Camaro molded in the same bright green as its '70 AAR Cuda kit.
  12. I'd never have to worry about getting in or out of tight parking spots. Piece of cake moving the cars in front and in back. You also don't have to worry about chipping the factory paint.
  13. Nice reference. Thanks for posting it.
  14. Might as well buy a surplus M-RAP. No chrome here, man. And, it looks like a truck.
  15. There was an interior designer, who went by the moniker "Dan Normal", in NYC back in the early '80s to mid '90s. He was red bearded, wore his hair in a proto-manbun and walked around wearing only a leopard skin garment a la Fred Flintstone, even during winter. He drove around in a modified '66 Caddy ambulance with a bunch of odd statuary mounted on the roof and had a huge Pickaninny doll sitting in the passenger seat. He lived in the West Village and one could normally see the Caddy parked near Seventh Ave. South. It was hilarious to see the expression on the faces of some of the old money residents at Trump Tower when they eyeballed him sitting in the lobby, waiting to go upstairs to visit a client.
  16. Monogram also reissued Aurora's Maserati 3500 GT (Kit No. 2245) and Aston Martin DB-4 (Kit No. 2246) both of which are excellent models.
  17. It's gonna be like 1965 again. I ain't complainin'', either.
  18. Could be that the Rustoleum sales rep used an Owney Madden-style hard-sell pitch. Hard to say no to somebody like that.
  19. NO. The polymer used is resistant to all knows solvents. Your only options are the following: Fastening Infrared welding Laser welding Ultrasonic welding Heat sealing Heat fusion Think I'm kidding? Look up polyethylene/polypropylene.
  20. Like the prodigal son returning home.
  21. Unlike some here with jaded eyes when it comes to Aurora's old kits, I wish Pete and Rick nothing but the best. There can be a real treasure trove of long unavailable models coming down the pike.
  22. I bought the kits from Fred Sterns. Fred is a standup guy who is well known throughout the hobby. I've bought many kits from him over the years and he always packs the kits well. This wasn't his fault. It's all on UPS, not USPS.
  23. I didn't get the kits off ebay and UPS is the culprit. When I drove linehaul for Con-Way Freight, UPS had terminals next to ours at a couple locations and I know how they mistreat parcels. I'm beyond disgusted.
  24. I waited twelve days for a package, sent via UPS, from Buffalo, NY to get to me in Brooklyn. I ordered a Johan Desoto Adventurer (a kit I've been looking to get at a reasonable price for a long time and finally got it) and two AMT '41 Plymouth Coupes. Well, the parcel arrived this afternoon at 5:46 P.M. Check this out: Yeah, I got the package. It looked like it went through a shredder. The box was smashed and crushed with rips and tears along the corners. Two of the three kits were damaged, the Desoto and the '41 Plymouth with the red car on the box. As you can see in the photos, both kit boxes were severely damaged, the lower right corner of the Desoto as seen from the top of the box and the upper left corner of the '41 Plymouth. The boxes are torn open and parts were falling out into the packing box. The Desoto's left tailfin is crushed and is missing the dash, steering wheel, both taillights and two tires and backs. The red car box Plymouth's window is cracked and broken, the hood, dashboard and right inner fender are missing and there is only one (1) stock Firestone tire. For all I know, all of the missing parts could have fallen out of the box. The holes in the packing box were large enough for the loose parts to have easily fallen through, as a result of all the abuse the package was subjected to by UPS. There are a few words I could use to describe this; but, let's just say it's not a pretty sight. These kits had the c_rap knocked out of them. I'm not happy at all about this. I've been trying to find an affordable Johan Desoto for the longest time; and, when I finally am lucky enough to get it, this kind of happy horsec_rap has to happen.
  25. Ordered some stuff on Aug. 16th. Package sent via UPS on Aug. 17th. It is now Aug. 27th and still no package. 10+ friggin' days from Buffalo to Brooklyn?!?
