  1. Get chuck steak. Ask any butcher and he'll tell you it's one of the best cuts. It has more flavor than even a Porterhouse or ribeye. Marinate the chuck, about 1-11/2" thick. with red wine, Worcestershire sauce, fresh crushed garlic, salt, ground black pepper and sliced serrano peppers. The longer it marinates, the juicier and more tender it gets. I'll let it marinate for up to three days and it tastes great. Heat a lightly oiled pan medium-high and cook for six minutes on each side. When done, slice it thin and it's fajita-ready. You can save the marinade by freezing it or you can heat it up to make a sauce.
  2. At this rate, it might end up as a 99 cent special. He must be anxious to sell.
  3. Kinda-sorta. It's listed as "complete" but it ain't. It's missing the stock wheel covers and there are three pairs of tires (only two stock): Vtg-Jo-han-'62-Chrysler-300-Hardtop-1-25-Model-Kit-Complete-1962-Chrysler Still, a pretty good deal.
  4. Gonna sue me for theft of intellectual property? No, ebay must assume anybody who thinks that a five buck price bump is a great deal is: NOW: $34.99 Was: $29.99
  5. Yeah, I was puzzled about that. It's actually a Chrysler 300. And the seller is offering it at $29.99 again.
  6. Only had them when traveling upstate. They're not sold in the city. I go to Schaller & Weber on the UES for my German wursts and sausages.
  7. Checking my email, I saw an ebay notification indicating that an item I viewed had a price change: "Dear stupid, The VTG_Johan_1962_Chrysler Newport_Hardtop you were interested in has been relisted at a new price. We're always looking for the best deals for you!" The original price was $29.99. It was raised to $34.99.
  8. Time to expand your gastronomic universe. Plenty of great local eats to be had if you feel like making them.
  9. Salt potatoes are a regional favorite in Upstate New York, specifically around the Syracuse area. They are friggin' DEEE-LICIOUS!
  10. That's the ticket. Nothing beats the convenience of a cordless tool. I have a regular tool with a flex shaft which I use when the Dremel Micro is charging. I hang it from a cup hook screwed into the desk
  11. Looking good, Mike. I've got the can lights and sirens from the Johan Police Pursuit kit which I'll never use. If you might need those for a future project, let me know.
  12. Roger Corman made a mint selling the rights to the title, but not the storyline, to the producers of the 2001 movie.
  13. It was an open box with the parts in what looked like a taped bag. At least he will "seemingly" check it.
  14. Roger Corman's "The Fast and Furious", starring John Ireland and Dorothy Malone is on TCM right now. Lots of vintage racing machines to be seen.
  15. Not a parts seller; but, the guy listed a fairly expensive kit as "seemingly complete". I contacted him and suggested that, since there is an instruction sheet, he could check off what's in the box against the instructions because it would make it easier for a potential buyer to decide to purchase it. Here's his reply: ’ll open the bag and see when I get home. I appreciate the insight, honestly. Need more guys like this.
  16. 'At's a matta, 'at's a matta. hey! 'At's a matta for you!
  17. Not to brag...well, yeah, I am , but my homemade pasta sauce and meatballs get get thumbs up from my Italian neighbors in the building. All of them say they taste just like what they ate at home. It's all about the garlic. I also get requests for my Whiting Grotta Azzurra with linguine and prosciutto balls.
  18. Newerkits?!? Round2 relabeled all of the better quality Lindberg releases (the '64 Dodges, Belvederes, both '53 Fords, '66 Chevelle, '61 Impalas) as AMT. So much for keeping a classic brand alive. BTW, I got a convoluted response from Round 2 regarding this on its FB page. Verbose, vague and completely avoided answering my question.
  19. I'd rather get some of that yardbird.
  20. Hey, It's got Instant Breakfast beat by a mile. Personally, I keep Drambuie around for the occasional Irish Coffee in the A.M. and Brugal Rum for a rum and coke when the mood hits me. Tonight's dinner was sliced up leftover pot roast with gemelli pasta and gravy. My kid and I were meatballed out. I made 48 meatballs and homemade sauce last week and there was no way we were gonna chow down on them every day. Jarred about 40 and stuck them in the fridge. Meatball heroes next week to take with us to Rockaway Beach.
  21. Solid, Tulio. One should expect nothing less than perfect from you. One of the best designed kits by any manufacturer.
  22. Those are great for washing down breakfast, especially pancakes.
  23. Yeah, FB is good for that. AN old friend from the neighborhood, Phil Hughes, moved to Ct. when he was 16, enlisted in the Navy and retired to........Idaho! He never got used to the sidewalks getting rolled up when the street lights go on. He's living in McKinney, Tx. presently. He thought about moving back to The Pernt; but, he said he couldn't afford it now. What he'd pay in rent for a two bedroom apartment here is five times more than the mortgage on his house. Geez, even crummy aluminum-sided two family frame houses are going for over a million bucks.
