Why're you getting your shorts bunched up for? The OP asked about a Y-Block engine, nothing else. No need to get cranky.

The best $50 I have ever spent

Excellent, Cale. Google the VIN and you should get some info. -
Revell Bronco vs. Revell Baja Bronco

Check your in box immediately. I did what you asked and you need to act on the information ASAP. I don't want to hear that it wasn't available because you waited too long. -
Good for all flavors of '55 Fords, including T-Birds.

Yeah, I know the PE came with the AM kit and Revell re-box. I was only suggesting that you take a gander at the MCG set because it has stuff like floor/chassis brackets and other OCD-worthy details. Here are the instructions for Revell 85-4992. They are similar to the AM sheet.

I'm assuming you have kit No. 5000, Corvette Factory Racer. PE assembly and placement is shown in the instruction sheet. If I saw this thread early into the construction, I would've recommended Model Car Garage's MCG-2086 Corvette Grand Sport Multimedia Detail Set. This set contains everything, including a resin oil cooler.

What did you see on the road today?

Man, what the heck was he thinking?!? Where did you see it? Carroll Gardens? -

I build factory stock; so, I don't worry about adding extraneous stuff. -
Great stuff! Can be used as a filler, among other things. Read this for a more detailed explanation.

Might be the same ebay seller I bought some from.

Excellent reference pics on the restoration of Corvette Grand Sport #004 here. I'm fortunate to have both. I plan on building all of the various versions. I have nine of these AM kits and am always on the prowl for another.

I was thinking the same thing. -
Ah, Raleigh and Belair cigarettes. Both included the coupons. Belairs ar still produced by R.J. Reynolds. Every candy store when I was growing up had the penny candies on top of, and the Lifesavers display under the counter tops. Speaking of the candy aisle, get yer retro candy at Old Time Candy. I do. Remember these? Jet Spray fountain machines. Used to see them in the larger candy stores, ice cream parlors and greasy spoon coffee shops with the Hamilton Beach blenders next to them. Alphanumeric telephone exchanges were used in NYC until the mid '70s. They corresponded with specific neighborhoods in the city. Our exchange was EVergreen 3. You always knew where somebody lived by the exchange. Steve, around these here parts, that hairstyle was called a "D.A.", short for "duck's a**". All of the greasers had D.A.'s. Oldtimers in some neighborhoods around here still sport it as a reminder of their glory days

Really? I'm 58 and I know what it is. Butch wax is a hair control wax, like a pomade. When you went to the barber to get a "flat top" cut, the barber would apply butch wax to your hair. It gave your haircut that perfect aircraft carrier landing deck look.

So don't. Nothing worse than hacking up a perfectly good body for a small detail. Make fiberglass copies. It's super easy, takes very little time and it saves a kit body. Look, if an idiot like me can do it, you'll have no problems. A lot of guys "ooh and aah" about how innovative this is; yet, nobody attempts to take the explanation and demonstration to the next level, which is practical application. You can use Bondo Fiberglass Resin and .60-.75 oz. fiberglass cloth which can be gotten online for cheap. Together, the resin and cloth cost less than the kit.

Fantatsic Treasure found on Ebay

Hey, art is in the eye of the beholder. Similarly, one man's garbage can contents are another's cash cow on ebay. -
Some of us can't remember what we had for lunch yesterday. This little quiz will measure your "older than dirtness". Post your scores.

Impressive list of credentials, Carl. Remember this at Camp King? Re oil change, AutoZone only charges $19.99 including a new oil filter. -

Hmmmm.........have you ever built, let alone designed, anything other than a model? There are a boatload of guys on this board who would not hesitate blowing their own horn if they possessed even 5% of Bill's knowledge, experience and abilities. There are, in fact, a bunch who do. Zei gezunt to them. It's their prerogative to do so. Bill doesn't brag or pat himself on the back. He knows what he's talking about and simply states the facts based on years of hands-on experience, not as asides from armchair Exner or DeLorean wannabes. If anyone else knows as much about automotive engineering and design, just rebut whatever you disagree with using sound, factual information to state your case. When you get into impugning somebody's bona fides as nothing more than egotistical braggadocio............well, Chief, you already lost the argument. As the old saying goes, "If you got it, flaunt it." If you don't, pay attention. You might learn something. -
