  1. "imarriedawitch".
  2. Let's face it. Societal changes are conditioning people to become human veals.
  3. Lotta ridgelines and forest to clear, Dan.
  4. I used to work for him. That's neither political nor religious.
  5. These, and other similar vehicles were constructed with the ability to level forests and destroy mountains and merely dust off any post-destruction residue off the hood, not to be babied like the present day blobular, cookie cutter fashion accessories known as SUV's. Today's excuses for utility vehicles don't even meet the minimum MIL-SPEC's for durability and ease of maintenance as Blazers and Dodge Rams once did.
  6. I use these, $2.30 from RC Planet. Bonus: the tubing can be used for fuel lines and small diameter hoses. For precision CA placement, I prefer using dental probes, $4.97 from Widget Supply. Place some CA on a medicine bottle lid and dip the tip. Highly recommended by pros for those hard to reach areas.
  7. Without a doubt, that is the best username here, Charlie.
  8. Euphemism for lies.
  9. Happy birthday, Bro. Age is a state of mind. I'm 58, feel like I did in my 30s and occasionally act like I did in my teens.
  10. Probably part of a fridge, washing machine or stove in your home.
  11. The Philadelphia area is the only place in PA. where you can buy it. Bummer.
  12. Set up one of these in front of your door
  13. Man, that Freuhauf van looks nice. Ain't cheap. I've been looking for that one. I previously mentioned that I'm on a Johan kick. I got a deal earlier this evening for a built Johan '62 Dodge Dart Convertible, a '64 Dodge SS kit and a Studebaker Lark ragtop kit, all three for less than $60. The guy is looking through his collection for more Johans. He said that he might have a '60 Desoto, '63 Fury HT and a pair of '62 Chrysler 300's he's willing to sell. He'll let me know tomorrow what else he can find. Made my week and it's not even Monday.
  14. Ninny paid $100 for his in 1972. He always had cool stuff like an orange '66 Karmann Ghia he got in a trade in exchange for a used hang glider he found near Ellenville, NY and a kayak that same summer. Some people are just born lucky.
  15. My friend Joe "Ninny" had a real one. It had a sunburst orange paint job. The GS kit sells for a whole lot more than he paid for the real thing.
  16. I was a longtime regular at the various Blarney Stones and Clancy's on Second & Third Aves. They didn't serve English beer. The best Blarney Stone location was across the street from 747 Third Ave. That's where Playboy had its NY offices from the late '60s to late '80s. All kinds of hot babes from there would hang out at the Stone.
  17. Red Stripe is great to wash down a beef or goat roti. Yeah, "connoisseurs" like to make up all kinds of bloviated descriptions. Just saying, "It tastes great" isn't enough to hook some equally pretentious schmuck looking for swill. Ever have a Black & Tan? Half a mug of Miller and the other half Guinness Stout.
  18. Check in the "Model Trucks" section under "Truck Kit News & Reviews" and "On The Workbench: "Pickups, Vans, SUV's & Light Commercial". Those are the places to look.
  19. You're my kind of beer drinker, Steve. Eh.....Seems I left my wallet at Dingy Dan's in Rockaway Beach.....First round's on you. If you haven't already try Presidente, a pilsner from the Dominican Republic. Crisp, dry and tastes like a good German or Czech pils. These Polish beers are excellent, too.
  20. Nothing beats a real German lagers, hefeweizen, bock/doppelbock or a Czech Pilsner. The microbrew-produced imitations are less than second rate compared to the real thing. There are loads of microbreweries here. Their stuff is too heavy on the quirky-new-take on-classic-beers philosophy which, in my opinion, isn't an improvement. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
  21. This is my take, Steve. You need to lower your standards and go to dive bars. I do and love'em. Heck, I can get Miller, Schaefer, Rheingold, Ballantine XXX and, an old Brooklyn staple which is being brewed again by the original family, Piels Real Draft. I like the occasional Champale. All theses beverages bring back slightly blurred memories of my reckless, carefree teenage years when my friends and I would hang out in the local gin mills with our fake I.D. cards and drink ourselves into a stupor while shooting pool or playing shuffleboard. I stay away from trendy brewhouses because they're ripoff joints selling some obscure, artisanally handcrafted pisswater for 12 bucks a bottle and 15 buck shots; secondly, the clientele frequenting these joints are pretentious buttwipes.
  22. Here's a film, made in 1953, by Raymond Abrashkin, Morris Engel and Ruth Orkin titled "Little Fugitive". It's about a little boy's day in Coney Island. It's a fantastic time capsule view of Coney, and Brooklyn street scenes, in the early '50s. The more things change, the more they stay the same. You'll even see the Parachute Jump in operation. Details about this wonderful movie here.
  23. Only if you're W.C. Fields
