  1. I'll agree with you as far as U.S. equipment is concerned. I doubt that kit manufacturers seek licensing rights for Axis equipment from companies still in business today.
  2. Most of the time, the issue of licensing rights for military equipment (especially WW II- era vehicles) isn't required. There are exceptions like the Oshkosh M1070 HET and HEMMT series of vehicles. Oshkosh had **** fit when I contacted them about drawings for the M1070A1 hood so I could make a master for casting.
  3. I believe that he's getting fitted for an orange jumpsuit at What an interesting coincidence that he's under investigation regarding police corruption. That's what caused William O'Dwyer to resign as mayor in 1950.
  4. NYPD has essentially stopped responding to what are called "Quality of Life" crimes. Heck, urinating in public isn't a ticketable offense here anymore. I wouldn't worry about them responding to a report of drunks getting soaked by a pot of water.dumped out of a window. A stoop is private property and they are guilty of trespassing.
  5. It keeps one in shape for bar league softball. Besides, hipsters are the real world equivalent of the Walking Dead when they're sober. It's like playing Whack-A-Mole.
  6. Bill, "hipster" and "humanity" are mutually exclusive.
  7. Most people here are apartment dwellers and don't normally keep garden hoses handy. A large pot of water dumped from the window or, better yet, going downstairs with a 34 oz. Louisville Slugger slung over your shoulder works just as well. After batting practice, you can clean up the mess with whoever wasn't fast enough to dodge your swings.
  8. You must've lived on a quiet block growing up. Didn't you set off fireworks when you were a kid? We'd get ours from the wiseguys in the neighborhood as soon as summer vacation started and spend the next two and a half weeks leading up to July 4th blowing them up. We'd be shooting bottle rockets down the street, chucking cherry bombs, ashcans, M-80s and blockbusters into the East River and down sewer drains. Even the old-timers got into it; so, nobody complained about the noise. Beats a bunch of drunk hipsters vomiting on your stoop at four in the morning.
  9. I found 106 listings using "model car junkyard", 861 using "junkyard parts, 118 using "vintage model car junkyard" and 2,658 using "model car parts" under "Models & Kits".
  10. Starting on the new kits, huh? Short of fabricating your own out of sheet brass, you are Sierra Oscar Lima. Measure the louvers on the kit, draw the louvers on a sheet of brass, carefully scribe the lines (where the openings will be) until you cut through the brass, use a pick, or some other instrument to open up and shape the opening. You could also splurge and get a photo etch making set and make your own that way. Good thing you got that mojo working, man.
  11. Nothing to compare. The latter is quality reading as opposed to the former.
  12. It was good while it lasted.
  13. I'd say yes: http://manuals.hobbico.com/rmx/85-4251.pdf http://manuals.hobbico.com/rmx/85-4295.pdf
  14. I'm really sick and tired of all these photos with this shadow stuff. Cut it out. That's a good looking model.
  15. Nice. Oodles of detail to keep those creative juices flowing.
  16. You can get the mushroom at The Plant, in Chicago. GNC probably carries the extract/capsules.
  17. This bit of breaking news pleased me to no end.
  18. Chalk it up to outsourcing. It could be done here if the companies really wanted to do it. There are plenty of injection molding and and mold making companies in the U.S. It all comes down to the bottom line - money. None of the American model companies want to spend the money on equipment to manufacture kits here because the operating costs in China for these facilities is much lower.
  19. Three high-rises going up simultaneously on my block. Nothing but construction racket six days a week.
  20. Happy now, Harry? No apologies are necessary, Doug. Ignore the gavones in the cheap seats. It's nobody's business to tell you how you should present your models.
  21. I had to reread that post to make sure I understood it correctly. Translation: Jeff contacted Shelby regarding licensing rights to produce Cobra Daytona models, not Cheetahs. He meant that licensing rights (actually, the absence of) are the same reason why no full detail 1/25 scale injection molded Cobra Daytona kits have been produced. BTW, the trademark for the Bill Thomas Cheetah is owned by........William P. Thomas III. These are the trademark details: https://trademarks.justia.com/860/63/bill-thomas-86063410.html
  22. I have a problem finding a pair that fits comfortably.
  23. You can never go wrong using the best Tiger I resource sites, Tiger1.info and Tiger im Focus.
