  1. Common sense will prevent this from reoccurring.......don't spray paint on a windy day.
  2. Sure you have. You get a valuable lesson in sycophancy. Scrutinize the comments in "WIP" and "Under Glass" more closely. It's a mutual adulation society meeting with zero constructive criticism and so much o' back slapping that you'd think you're listening to Johnny Ray Hubbard pounding on an upright bass. Alleged adults of this generation are emotionally incapable of taking constructive criticism for what it is. They've been conditioned to believe that it is an outright insult on their character to be told that whatever they did wasn't the epitome of perfection and could have been better accomplished. Honesty is strictly prohibited.
  3. Who cares what adjectives are used as descriptors? It's not like we're having a Victorian-era tea parlor discussion about women's ankles. As alleged adults, we should be able to handle the use of creative language to describe something without being over-sensitive. None of the terms/expressions used were in any way disparagingly directed at a human and I'm sure that steel wheels, rims and tires couldn't care less.
  4. It's like a Hs 129 with treads.
  5. That is a myopic point of view. The "hobby" encompasses much more than just model cars. There are plenty of youths involved in the hobby in general, just not in the model car segment in particular. Lack of variety is why they choose other categories of modeling. This particular niche of the hobby, judging by the average age of the membership here and other model car fora, is the refuge for those curmudgeons. Maybe you enjoy building the same few dozen or so cars ad nauseam; there are modelers who prefer the hundreds of different aircraft, armor, sci-fi or ship kits available. Car modelers wet their pants at the mere announcement of models old enough to qualify for AARP membership and that is enough to make them happy. Cool, whatever floats your boat. The younger generation is much more sophisticated in their tastes and expectations as to what they want in a model. Unfortunately, car models don't seem to cut the mustard, big wheels and skinny rubber notwithstanding.
  6. I know that this would be a reissue. What annoys the hell out of me is when somebody post a cryptic picture like this with no further information with which to place it in proper context. After all, this is the "Car Kits & Reviews" section, not the cool box art forum.
  7. Forgot to post a pic of the Rye Field Model Sturmtiger w/interior All four are excellent kits, Ray. After years of building empty shells, all of the new kits with full interiors are a breath of fresh air.
  8. And, that's it?!? No other information on tentative rerelease? Nothing else except a picture of a box? Posts like this are a waste of people's time.
  9. At least the '70s had Hemi 'Cudas and the Ramones.
  10. I know. Scalemates lists it as "197x".
  11. It won't be economical unless one vacuforms multiple parts simultaneously. The sheets ain't cheap.
  12. The instructions from the 1968 T285 release are the same. AMT '57Ford Fairlane FLASHBACK
  13. It can be had for $67.95 plus $7.50 S & H from HERE Video showing how it works:
  14. Vituperativeness.......indeed. There are so many new alleged and quirky new takes on classic offenses to some people's hypersensitive sensibilities today that it's impossible to keep track.
  15. That's a formality, like asking somebody "How're you doin?"
  16. One's experiences in a particular locale doesn't mean the same, or similar, elsewhere. It's a documented fact that vehicles driven on the streets of New York City are subjected to more damage due to the poor condition of the roads compared to anything encountered in Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch. In addition to damaged rims and suspensions, the low ride heights account for not a few torn up front and rear fascias caused by said vehicles bottoming out in large potholes or hitting loose boiler plates covering street excavations. The repair shop near me has a lot full of cars exhibiting these types of damage.
  17. If one enjoys the similarity to driving on bare rims, experiencing every teeth chattering bump and pothole on the road, big goofy wheels and low profile tires are just the thing. I've seen plenty of bent rims and blown out lo-pros here. If that happens, what do you see the driver putting on........a steel wheeled donut spare because a bozo rim won't fit in the trunk. When it comes to either form or function, form loses every time.
  18. Yeah, well....nothing will be found if only a superficial internet search is conducted. Here's plenty of Gaia S-02 Chrome Sealer available on ebay: e7 s-02 chrome sealer
  19. Isn't that precisely the state of affairs today? Your choice of cookie cutter cars in black, dark blue, silver or white with black, gray or tan interiors? Oh, let's not forget the clown car rims.
  20. That's about as likely to happen as me winning Mega-Millions and Powerball in the same week.
  21. Gee, that's setting a pretty low bar for a decade already notorious for lower standards in just about every category of pop culture.
