  1. Yeah, it's NYC. Rockaway Park in Queens County.
  2. Google "1920s/1930s brocade cloth material patterns". You should find something close enough. It'll be just a matter of repeating the pattern in PS and adjusting the colors.
  3. Bummer of a day. My next door neighbors are moving out. The wife's brothers were attacked and stabbed across the street at the Q22 bus stop on Rockaway Beach Blvd. & Beach 111th St. last Wednesday evening. The younger brother, who recently enlisted in the USMC, was killed trying to help his older brother. My condolences and prayers go out to the families. Getting bad here lately. Time for me to look elsewhere.
  4. It's "Holy Moly", favorite expression of Billy Batson, alter ego of Captain Marvel.
  5. The Collyer Brothers were first class collectors.
  6. Ever heard of Google? Any red oxide model paint will work for Venetian Red. There are also numerous options for Chestnut Brown.
  7. ABS is chemically similar to polystyrene. If its a bumper, you can use a heat gun to get the ABS to cooperate. I used a heat gun to fix a front bumper on a 1986 Taurus years ago.
  8. Feel like laughing now? This $50 burger is coming to Manhattan and doesn't even come with fries Buon appetito!
  9. It's funny that in most cases, defenders of excess are usually the first in line with 40% discount coupons.
  10. If you actually read the threads, you wouldn't be asking this question. It's been pointed out to stay away from the U.S.-based company because of all of the problems customers encountered and deal only with the original Spain-based business. If you don't have the patience to wait a bit for an order you'll definitely receive, by all means go with the non-affiliated U.S. outfit and listen to an endless stream of excuses as to why you haven't got your paints.
  11. Comments about this are seriously misdirected. The sanity of the person who actually would pay that amount should be called into question, not that of the seller.
  12. Newer molding of the Electra? It's the same mold used since S522 was released almost 60 years ago.
  13. Check its Facebook page, like I did, and you can read the vague non-answers to that very question. I posted their response in a thread specifically about this.
  14. Comet TV runs Godzillathons regularly, too.
  15. It was explained in the original 1954 film "Gojira".
  16. They don't make them like that anymore, Chris. Those golden turds command the big bucks on reputable auction sites like Zeppy.io.
  17. I sent a message to the seller a couple of days ago pointing out that it's not a Modelhaus resin model, just a Johan USA Oldies plastic kit. Nuthin' but crickets from his end.
  18. Police departments normally purchased the cheapest models. 150 2-Door sedan would have been used since they were manufactured as fleet oriented. The NYPD used Chevrolet as an RMP (Radio Motor Patrol vehicle) for only one model year during the 1950s. That was the 1956 Chevrolet 150.
  19. Allegedly, Winston Churchill said, "Americans and British are one people separated by a common language." in a speech to Congress in the early 1940s. I have a few of the new tool AMT '57 Belairs but don't have the Revell sedan. Any preference as to either?
  20. Since one can "drag n' drop" or load images directly from one's computer into a post here, why would one really need to use a photo hosting site to store images? If you're concerned about hard drive failures leading to data loss, back up files on thumbnail drives and even archiving them on CD/DVD. They are essentially hard copies which aren't susceptible to loss due to hardware failure or problems with hosting sites. You want to load images, no problem. Load the appropriate disk or thumb drive and copy 'n' paste or drag 'n' drop into your post. It might seem like a dated method; but, I never worry about any of my important files and documents turning into lost electrons.
  21. Try Imgur. It's free.
  22. Nice JT! Those 1/16 Trumpeter kits can be super detailed beyond what is in the box. Excellent resource site for the Trumpeter KT and others HERE.
  23. Wow! That's taking casting to another level. man! What did you use for the molds?
  24. Interesting factoid: If you make a close inspection/measurement of just about any portion of a model car (things like drip rails, trim, etc.), you'll find that there are size equivalents found in styrene strip and metal and/or plastic tubing. This is also the case for other types of models. So, finding the appropriate size isn't difficult.
